I saw the good reviews thinking that this place would be good. I got the chicken peanut wrap and that was ok. It was pretty mediocre. There wasn't a lot of chicken in it but the a lot of rice. My friend got the turkey panini but was served something else instead. When she realized we had left the bakery awhile. We also had a chocolate cake there and it tasted stale. We came after the lunch rush so many of the baked goods were gone. The sandwiches and paninis do get replenished. I ordered the Turkey bacon panini but they gave me the chicken pesto instead. They also took over 15 minutes to warm it up. I think they forgot my order as I had to go back to the counter to ask. The cakes look good and so I got the individual size chocolate celebration cake. Unfortunately it was so dry. Total disappointment. With so many other places for baked goods and sandwiches in the downtown sechelt area, I'll skip this place in future. read more

Wow! This busy bakery in the heart of Sechelt close to the beach serves up tasty paninis at very fair prices and delicious baked goods that leave you wanting more. We popped in on a busy summer afternoon to get some lunch and found the lineup to move at a fair pace. Service was friendly and efficient and our order came out promptly. Both paninis were amazing and fairly priced with generous servings of real chicken breast(not deli meat). Zingy mango chutney accompanied one while basil pesto adorned the other panini. At around $8 each they were good value for a filling Sechelt lunch. Our baked goods were equally good and it was difficult to resist a prompt return visit. We would definitely return here for a sweet snack or lunch at any future opportunity. read more

Skip it. Not worth it. It's just too bad there aren't any other bakeries/coffee houses nearby. The unfriendly servers there kill the vibe. The server might just have a RBF but her mood was just tangibly annoyed. Also, I would expect the food and the drinks to be better but the quality was mid. Not worth running home about. The iced mocha was pretty good but with everything else, it was meh. They also accidentally gave me someone else's order. Great selection here and welcoming interior. Good location in Sechelt. As for the products themselves, I was a little underwhelmed. I had a blueberry scone which was okay but not very sweet (more like bread). Also had a small drip coffee which was fine but nothing to write home about. The majority of customers were wearing masks and were distanced while lining up to order, but there was a bit of a bottleneck with people waiting for coffees. I had to squeeze through a bit of a crowd to go out the designated exit door. It might be worthwhile asking customers to wait outside when it gets busy, to help everyone keep 2m apart. read more

The brownies here are delicious. I wasn't going to have it because it was gluten free and many times gluten free just isn't fabulous but I'm so glad I did because it is the best brownie on earth! Soft, moist, chocolaty. No other brownie measures up! I've tried many of their baked goods and everything is delicious. But if I had to pick only one thing it's the brownie!!! read more

The store is cozy, the pastries are delicious but the coffee is extremely bad. The barista didn't know how to properly steam milk or pour a shot of espresso. It came out very bitter and watery. Cute spot with lots of treat. It's open a bit later than the other coffee shops and bakeries which is nice in a town where most things close early. We moved here from the North Shore 4 1/2 years ago and were sad to leave our favourite coffee house behind. No need to worry - we discovered The Bakery in Sechelt (formerly Wheatberries) and have never looked back! Not only is the coffee made to our exacting specifications and the sweets and sandwiches are great but the friendly service from Victoria and the great staff she has working with her makes it a delightful way to start our day!
