The staff is always kind and it is an okay bagel! They are thin and lack some texture and chew, but I enjoyed the salt bagel. The others do not have enough toppings in my opinion. Stopped in this morning for a bagel and coffee; was surprised to find the place was nearly empty. I was disappointed the tables weren't clean, they were coffee-stained and sprinkled with crumbs/remnants from previous patrons; the floor was dirty. It was kind of moribund; there was no music playing in the background and there was no TV to watch. I'd like to see this place succeed, but you've got to make it a place where people want to go. The inside is cute and spacious. The service was friendly and timely. My big gripe with this place is that my egg and cheese sandwich on a plain bagel was the worst I've ever had. The bagel was over toasted (dark brown on the inside), and there was the tiniest little egg and barely any cheese - it was so hard to see the cheese and I didn't taste it at all. Neither the egg nor the cheese extended to the outer edge of the bagel, so there was a lot of just plain bread. In general it was like eating a dry, bare overtoasted bagel. So, very unpleasant. I removed one half of the bagel with hopes of getting any egg/cheese flavor and also added ketchup, but it wasnt successful and overall the food was horrible. Definitely only get a bagel and cream cheese if you dare to come here at all. I would personally never come back. read more

Worst cappuccino I've had in a long time. I always ask for 3 shots of vanilla syrup. Which should be plenty to sweeten the coffee. But I couldn't test any vanilla and nothing sweet. Cute spot!!! Quick ran in to the shop before the elite runners came through to fuel up with some coffees and a bagel. I ordered a drip coffee and a sausage egg and cheese bagel sammie. The coffee was very good, did exactly what I needed it to. Kept me warm, and woke me up. The sandwich was also great. It was nothing crazy, but exactly what I expected and wanted. I chose the jalapeno cheddar bagel and thought it paired very well with the egg/sausage/cheese. The staff here were AWESOME! Super friendly, everyone had an excited buzz about them. The marathon here is truly a big deal and I love the energy it creates. I would definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking to grab a quick bite or a solid cup of joe :) read more

Located in the heart of Natick Center, the bagel table is easily one of the busiest cafes. I stopped by on a Saturday morning around brunch time (so peak time). FOOD: we got an egg and cheese on a marble rye, a BEC on a sesame, and varying croissants. Frankly, the bagels were average. There wasn't anything special about them. They did taste fresh, but they weren't up to par with other bagels I've had in other shoppes in the past - if I'm comparing to my gold standard in New England, they miss the mark by a lot. The bagels do have a good chew to them, but lack any sort of density and "crust" unless you get it toasted. Sandwich wise, the egg is so small that it leaves a lot of room to be desired. If you come for some croissants though, different ball game. These were actually quite good and were probably made by a pastry chef who knows what their doing, as they had perfectly laminated layers and flakiness to them that you'd think they belonged more in a French pastry shop. PRICE: if I remember correctly, it was approximately $4-6 each for our sandwiches $3-5 for croissants. This is probably average for what you'll get in the area, so no complaints there. I'd argue your money is worth more going to a pastry than the bagel sandwich though as you'll get a better quality item (imo). SERVICE: those tending the counter and serving food were lovely. It was incredibly busy and everyone who was working was clearly a little stressed, but they handled everything quite professionally. Our food did come within five minutes of ordering, so no complaints here. OVERALL: personally, it's not somewhere I'll be returning. As someone who's a bit of a snob when it comes to high quality food, this fell flat for me. If I were to come back, it'd mostly likely be for the pastries, but probably not for the bagels. Again, there was nothing wrong with them - I've just had better and if I want to pay for bagels/sandwiches, I'd like them to be something that I can't make at home or purchase at my local store. We got there at 1:15pm for a quick lunch. We've been to the store in Wayland and always had a friendly and warm experience. Well, now comes the rub. The older lady at the counter was like meeting your DMV or Parking Violation agent. No smile, no greeting, its like "WHAT DO YOU WANT."+- Food is good and prices are really reasonable. What a fabulous find - this breakfast/coffee shop is a little treasure. We were in Natick for the Boston Marathon and were amazed to see so many businesses not open for the crowds. Luckily we spotted someone enjoying a takeout treat from this place, and were directed to The Bagel Table. Very pleasant place to have a laid-back lunch. They don't have a commercial kitchen so food is prepared elsewhere; they make sandwiches and have pastry and of course bagels. The sandwiches are very good and ingredients are fresh. Bagels are the best around; very substantial, fresh and reasonably priced. Pleasant atmosphere, space is 140 years old but very well kept and clean so feels genuine and "neighborhood-esque". Staff quite congenial. Has a local and not franchise kind of vibe. When she asked how old the English muffins were she was told "the ones at the back are the freshest". How about only selling daily baked goods as advertised? Went in at 1030 on a Tuesday. Didn't appear to be any lights on when I stepped in and no one at the register. I was about to walk out because I thought surely the place must be closed when a woman came from the back and asked what I wanted. I asked for a French toast bagel and side of cream cheese. She disappeared for a minute came back to the register to get her phone and went in the back again, came out as another woman handed her my bagel in a bag. The bagel she gave me was a raisin bagel (I realized after getting to my destination unfortunately). Bagel tasted worse than the ones they sell at a grocery store. Small and stale. read more

I went here on a Friday with my wife around 10 o'clock and ordered two bagels. The bagels are decent. Placed my order through the older woman at the register. 10 minutes later, our bagels are ready and I go up to pick up both bagels and the Bagel Table Lady looks at me like I have two heads almost questioning me why I'm trying to pick up two bagels and I say "yea one for me and one for my wife." Crazy that she couldn't even remember that I just placed a simple order for two people a few minutes ago. Not sure if it's because I'm a minority, but she has a bit of a condescending tone. We sit down to eat directly next to a table of two Natick Meter Maids. The Bagel Table Lady from behind the counter comes out from behind the register and joins the two meter maids at their table and immediately they start bashing "Trumpers" and anyone on the right who "drinks the koolaid." Eventually the conversation ends up heading in the direction of Trump is racist and stating that illegal immigrants are eating pet cats, and the Bagel Table lady says "it's not the Haitians eating cats, it's the Asians!" You can't make this crap up. Insane. The Meter Maids just laughed. To top it off, The Holy Bagel Table lady starts complaining about how her responsibilities at the shop (such as refilling the cooler) and starts whining that she doesn't want to do it because "IM TIRED!" This place is an embarrassment. Also the fact that the meter maids entertained this conversation next to two Natick residents is ridiculous. read more

We ordered a couple of toasted bagels, asked to make sure they were toasted and they gave us warm and chewy bagels. They refused to change the order for actually toasted bagels and just advised to order triple toasted bagels next time, at least they gave us our money back. There is no next time for us. Bagels are store bought, they're displayed in the case in their plastic bags. The woman taking orders is pretty abrasive, not the best way to start your morning being barked at about whether you want your bagel toasted or not. Prices aren't bad, sandwiches are meh, honestly comparable to Einsteins or even Starbucks. Two stars because the interior is nice and clean. read more

I am not from Natick, so these may very well be the best bagels in town as many other reviewers have said. However, in my opinion, they are NOT good bagels. We got an asiago cheese bagel and an everything bagel turkey sandwich. Both were profoundly underwhelming. The bagels had a total lack of flavor. And the texture was all wrong - no chew to the crust and the inside is extremely dense. They have a flavor reminiciscent of white bread. A total lack of the rich, malty flavor one wants in a bagel. I've had better bagels from the freezer at the grocery store Also, it was stated the sandwich would have tomato and lettuce. There was no tomato. It also included "potato salad" which tasted like it had no spices at all in it - literally just mayonnaise and potatoes. I will not be going back to the bagel table. read more

Saw this on a friends page and decided to make the 35 minute truck for some good bagels. And they did NOT disappoint. Both my friend and I got the sausage egg and cheese on a plain bagel with some hot sauce the drink selection was low, however there is a coffee shop right next door to help you with your beverage so no need to worry. The bagels were good but not at the level of their store in chestnut hill, which was my go to bagel place for years. The person covering the counter was kind of cold and not at all welcoming or courteous. This was surprising considering how positive other reviews were about the friendly staff at Natick Bagel Table. Maybe just an off day. I asked (in a nice way) for sugar that was not available and needed before leaving with my order but was instructed that "you'll have to wait". I wasn't in a rush so couldn't figure out where the gruff attitude came from. read more

My very abbreviated review of The Bagel Table. 2.5 stars. It was my first visit to the restaurant. I was waiting to pick up a prescription at the nearby Boston Post Road CVS which was not open because it wasn't 9 o'clock on a weekday. Since I had arrived at 8 o'clock which is one google told me the store opened (that was correct) I had some time to kill so I decided to pick up a bagel sandwich. I'm first entering the store I was pleased by the sunny and clean interior. I also liked the layout of the counter which was modern and efficient and the interior color scheme which was mostly grays and white. There was a lot of space in the restaurant but much of it was empty space with only a few tables set aside for dine in patrons. I watched as the counter hostess interacted with the two persons in front of me. She was a pleasant woman with a heavy Russian Jewish accent who smiled and interacted efficiently with the customers. Her efficient and pleasant interaction continued when it was time to take my order. I asked for a bagel sandwich with egg bacon and cheese on a plain bagel. Although it was before nine on a weekday morning they were already out of plain bagels. I don't know this to be fact but it seem to me that they did not have a lot of plain bagels and it was not that they had sold out tons of them. As I was leaving the store I saw a woman delivering a box of what looked like plain bagels wrapped in the kind of sleeve he would buy them in the grocery store. I'm not saying they were store bagels but perhaps they were bagels from another location of the chain. At any rate I found that odd. I chose a everything bagel and I sat down to wait for my order which was delivered to me promptly by the guy in the kitchen. as I said the entire interaction in the store was pleasant and efficient. Upon biting into the everything bagel sandwich the first thing I noticed was that it was dry. When I looked at the bagel I found out that it was a wheat everything bagel not a white everything bagel. This was disappointing because I don't recall ordering a wheat everything bagel. The bagel was not only dry but dense. The flavor was OK but comparing it to for example the everything bagels from Costco, the flavor was just not as good. As for the egg all I can say about it is that it was unremarkable. I barely noticed the egg on the sandwich. Same goes for the cheese I barely noticed it. The one flavor that came through very strongly was the bacon. It seem like a strongly flavored bacon with perhaps it was a maple taste. It definitely seem to me like a bacon with an artificial flavor added. Sometimes you encounter bacon like that which tastes like it was dumped in maple syrup. That is not a sign of a good bacon. In this case, fortunately there was not a lot of bacon on the sandwich, so I was spared the somewhat overwhelming flavor of it. I finished the sandwich but quite honestly it was one of the more unremarkable bagel sandwiches I've had. It was definitely not the kind of bagel sandwich which makes you wanna rush back and have another. I also ordered a cup of House coffee. They have two kinds, House and dark roast. The house roast turned out to be pretty much OK. It was somewhat like a diner coffee, something like what McDonald's serves although I think McDonald's is better. It was average and unremarkable and sometimes that's totally fine in this world of shitty Starbucks bird feeder crap. I'm going to give the coffee a acceptable rating. I'm going to finish this review with a summary. Decor excellent. Store interaction excellent. Food below average in availability and taste. Coffee acceptable. read more
