They never disclosed that most Tuesday are maintenance days, nor did they ever disclose that certain members are allowed to make multiple, consecutive tee times on weekdays during the most desirable morning hours, effectively forcing members not in the club-within- the club to take the midday tee times. When you have a Mon-Thursday membership, this essentially means your membership is actually 2 days per week with some additional half days mixed in. Its a rather discriminatory and disappointing policy.

Allen( one of the managers) offered us a summer membership pass that was only like $50 per person valid until I think Labor Day, which is such a good deal. You can come whenever you want and play plus access to the best putters. We did a bottle of red wine and a bottle of white wine that night and played both courses and the bonus! The staff is super friendly and we've seen a lot of the same familiar faces each time we come, which has been a couple of times a month since then at least. Allen and out bartender Racheal are always here! Hard working and amazing hospitality! One afternoon we stopped in and it was raining horribly so we just grabbed food which wasn't the best. In my opinion. It's kind of like Luby's food and if you understand that reference everything is just mild not really seasoned. We actually came last night while my kid was at a sports camp nearby and did one of the two courses which typically take about an hour each for us. And shout out to the Bartender Devin that we just met tonight! Always a great date night for us here and kid friendly! They have corn hole & table tennis too!!!

This was one of the grossest experiences of my life and something that I will never forget.

Being an avid golfer, the US Open sectional qualifier at Shadow Hawk was a rare treat. As this course is one of the tougher venue to get on even if your in the know. The layout is both scenic and deceiving, especially for the first visit. The course guide does a good job of laying out the distances, but not the hole shapes. Which leads to alot of guessing along with much gusto to challenge the course. A rarity in Houston is that this course has excellent yardage markers densely packed along the freeway and rough. Like most Houston courses, the greens are in rough shape here, and the driving range in worse. But the privacy, intimacy with the surrounding nature and a breathtaking layout makes this a fantastic must try course, if you can get on.

Sadly, I played here recently (for the first time in years) and it's in pretty horrible condition now. Oddly they seem to have invested in fancy new golf carts (with GPS, etc.) while letting the actual course deteriorate. Every aspect of the course is in unacceptable condition. I believe they also raised their rates. I won't be returning anytime soon and only recommend playing here if you live very close just for the convenience. Hermann Park, Gus Wortham, and Memorial are way better municipal course options even though they cost a little more.
