the only thing keeping me going to this place, is how cheap a bucket of balls cost to practice hitting. Other than that this place is very unwelcoming if you even look remotely new they judge you immediately and always greet with such urgency and attitude, the 3 times that i've been now from going since hs the owner and the other big dude in the shop have such hostility when it comes to asking you about your business being here, i just came in the other day and barely stepped onto the porch and he comes out and says "can i help you with something?" i reply with "oh i'm just waiting for an opening" as it was busy at the time and i didn't want to be directly next to someone and he replies back with "theres a spot there, theres a spot there, but if you wanna wait go ahead i don't care" and walks back inside and not once have i not come here in the 3 times not filled in a divot when practicing and without a doubt big man walks out as soon as i'm finished while watching through the windows to see if i filled the divot, and yes i do everytime for the respect of the field and of golf and other users but as he watches the whole time he would know i filled it up and without any reason as i put my basket up unlike other hitters as well, he still asks did you make sure to fill up the divot and walks back inside not asking any other golfer thats out there, mind you everytime i do come out with decency to actually fill up my divots so i wouldn't recommend this place whatsoever wether your new or not and wanna get into golfing they make it a shitty experience here read more

I've been going to Marti Golf Center for a few years and aside from some occasional pettiness from staff never had any complaints. It's convenient, cheap, and open late. That's probably why it has so many customers. But they lost my business tonight and I hope they lose yours too. I took my 7-year old out for an evening at the driving range. The owner, Chad Marti, refused us service for wearing masks in the shop to buy a bucket of balls. That's not a typo - refused service FOR wearing a mask during a pandemic and during a time where local cases are rising. Obviously there are no decent reasons for objecting to someone else's personal choice and freedom to choose to wear a mask. But Chad Marti thinks it's okay even to refuse service. It literally has zero impact on him aside from the reason that he gave of being tired of picking up dropped masks. What's more, he had the audacity to tell my kid that the mask won't do anything to keep him safe. He's 7. He's unvaccinated. I'm making an appropriate choice to keep him safe but Chad thinks his stand is worth ruining his night over. Chad's taking a business gamble that he can take his political stand and people will keep on buying buckets of balls from him. Maybe he's right. But I'm tired of this pandemic and the small-minded thinking that perpetuates it. I won't give another dime to his business. There are better alternatives around a few minutes further. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Chad is confident enough that you'll ignore your values in exchange for convenience and cheap range balls. He's confident that he can have customer interactions like the one tonight when he undermined my guidance to my son and it won't cost him. Maybe he's right. I hope he changes his policy or goes out of business. read more

Is what it is. Can't control the rain which helps to make the grass as some complained about. Parking was good. In summer it would be better if some of it was covered for shade. Pricing was pretty fair. Good little cash business. One improvement would be to add some more noticable targets and yardage markers. Putting green or putt putt course would be awesome. Driving range is the best around. Good firm hitting area, good balls. Facility is top notch. Took a lesson today from Chad. I have played for years but stopped a few years ago. Brought family member in to use short game area, but was denied entry because I had a mask on. I wear a mask because of health issues and being at risk for catching Covid. I don't really care if you wear a mask or not, but respect those who choose to. Amazing how a business would turn down revenue for such a foolish reason. Thank goodness there are other places that are more accommodating and aesthetically pleasing I would never patronize this place again, and would recommend to other golfers, to stay as far away from here as possible. read more

Best driving range in town hands down, and I've been to alot of them. The hitting area is very nice, there is also a chipping and putting area along with a smaller putting area right behind the range so you can take a short break from ball striking to work on something else. The grass is very very good at the hitting area. The putting green is going to get over hauled soon. Oh yeah, I'm the one with the Donkey head cover there 5 times a week. Went with some friends and easy out of the way place to hit balls. Got a huge bucket of balls cheap and then took our time on the range. Saw a couple of lessons going on and was impressed by the instruction (not sure if these were provided by the range). Overall, cheap and easy with a chill vibe for a range. read more

Potential new customer. Walked in and guy most likely knowing this based on the questions i was asking. Was interested in getting a bucket of balls for the driving range. Asked the "worker" if they had a driver I could use to borrow rent. He then proceeds to try to have me rent a set of clubs and only on the condition that I purchase a certain size bucket of balls(no mention of this on their website). And of course it is their right to do so, so happily left to head over to Acorn Golf, which also has a driving range and friendly staff. :) Save yourself the trouble from going to this location. read more

Ok driving range. It is a place to hit balls all the way in the evening. It had been about a year since my last time going there. Besides working on my golf swing I went to practice bunker shots as well and found the bunker no more that a hole with sand. It wasn't a defined bunker so I skipped that part. I did chipping around the green. The green was pretty rough which means the roll out won't be anywhere near what you would get on any course. This is a good place to go to practice your swing. Pricing is very affordable and there is plenty of room. Obviously they have the driving range, but there is also a sand trap, pitching, and putting area to prepare for a golf course. In the "building" where you pay for buckets of golf balls they have snacks, drinks, a restroom, and golf clubs you can use if you're missing one in your collection. I like to come here with friends, food, and alcohol (no glass bottles) and spend a couple hours trying to get the ball in the air, haha. There are a few chairs but to ensure you have something to sit on you should bring some folding chairs. read more

This driving range has the worst and most rude staff (also a coach here). I had my friends come here to give me some tips of my swing, and we were having fun. Then that guy just came straight to my friend and asked him to stop coaching me with a very intimidating and rude tone. We've seen a lot of people practice swing, and giving tips to each other here, and no one got stopped like this. Plus my friend is not even here to coach me, he is here to practice his swing while enjoying some friends time. I've seen some comments from other people saying that this place has rude staff, but never thought he could be this bad!!!!! You know when you do business with a company for 25 plus years you would think they would give you a little slack. The wife regularly buys me tickets of golf PREPAID but they give you two free when you pay full price IN ADVANCE for ten. Not an earthshaking deal but convenient to a degree. They unbeknownst to me there was an expiration date for this. My ticket was a couple months past. They DENIED me service. Elroy, the original owner passed away a few years ago but he would NEVER have treated anyone this way. OK, a rule is a rule but c'mon the current guy in charge (and owner) Chad could care less about my many years of patronage. A rule is a rule. AND... I will NEVER be back. PERIOD. This is a great, very friendly, inviting place to practice your short game or hit the long ball. I was greeted the moment I walked up to the range by an employee and the hospitality of the man working in the shop exceeded my expectations. They were so kind. One kid on the range was testing a bunch of clubs, it was cool to see how nice the people here are. I played college golf and it was great to be able to hit off actual grass, rather than a mat. Come here on Tuesdays for their buy one large, get one large bucket for free. This place is a bit pricier for a range out in the burbs (the large bucket is $9 for probably 100 balls?), but it's worth it. The grass is very nice here, almost similar to those found on a course. Their divots are always filled with sand for quicker and more even growth. There's a putting green and a separate chipping green with sand bunker with free balls to use. I have never seen it crowded to where you have to wait for a spot. Plenty of parking space as well. read more

"I have told your pro friend that he was not allowed to teach out here on numerous occasions Yet he continues to help and teach others at my facility." First of all, our friend was not coaching, he never coached others. He just played better than any of us and share some tips to us. We don't get involved with anyone else besides our group. We were here just for a good family and friend time. I guess he does play very well, which made you think he is a pro. And you even come to him and ask how much he charged for coaching on our first day here. That was already very strange for our first visit. Also, today is actually the first time you told him he can't coach here. Where are the "numerous occasions" coming from?! "My policy to teach out here (which I have told him before) is that "Only Marti Golf Center PGA Professionals Have the Right to Teach" You never told him or us any of this. Today you just walked straight to my friend and warned him with a very aggressive attitude and tone! We don't understand where you got that temper. "This was not the 1st time he has been warned. If he is a professional, like he said he was, he should know the proper professional etiquette about teaching at someone else's facility." Again, it is the first time you told him not to coach. And he never said he was a pro!!! He just plays better than us, and he looks like "pro" to us. You are the came to him calling him a pro, and he replied clearly, "I am not a pro, we were just playing for fun, and hanging out here with friends" "No facility will allow outside professionals to teach at their places. Please keep this in mind wherever you go." I totally agree. They shouldn't do that. Otherwise, they will definitely took your profits. And again, nothing to do with us. I am not sure if you are trying to twist the story to get the viewer understand the things differently, or you just got us confused with somebody else. This is your typical driving range. Nothing to crazy, but I think it has all that you need. The prices, in my opinion, are really good compared to a few other ranges I have been to. The large or jumbo buckets are both good size to shares with a friend or two. If you've got enough energy, maybe get second one just for fun. I've never had any problem with bringing beer to the range, so feel free to bring a six pack or two, or seven. The field is well maintained and looks good all around. So if you're looking for an inexpensive place to hit more than a few balls, this is the place for you. read more

While it is a little off the freeway system, Marti is a good spot for hitting off grass. It also has the added bonus of having an excellent chipping area with balls and a rolling ball gatherer. It also has a separate putting area, though recently it has seen better days. Google usually has a buy one get one large bucket for free deal, but the extra large bucket isn't too badly priced. It opens late enough and has a decent amount of lights. The location is good for a late night range session followed by a late dinner at Pho Binh by Night. read more

This is the closest public range near Sugar Land. The balls are in good condition. The tee box was clean and grassy before I got these. I may have made a few divots. Regardless it was not at all sandy. The guy behind the counter was super nice I also this he was the pro. There is a $6 credit card minimum and I wanted to get he a $2 Gatorade. He was kind enough to kit charge me for it on a 95 degree Houston day. The putting area was a bit rough but he said they were working on it. It's a little ways out for me but I visited for the first time yesterday and came away very impressed. The grounds are first rate, the bermuda in the tee boxes is nicer than you'll find at any public fairway. Lots of flags to use for target practice but some yardage markers would be nice. Pitching area was very nice, even has a bunker which I still can't hit out of. Putting green was too slow though there is a strip for putting behind the tee line which was in perfect condition. Good overall facilities. If you want to work on your game, nothing beats a range with game like conditions (good grass, decent balls, outdoor, well lit at night, etc..). Marti also has all the tech for club fitting and shot tracking. read more

I was a fan of Marti Golf and really enjoyed hitting balls here. But today when I tried to hit a ball someone left behind next box, I got yelled at by the staff. After that he kicked all that remaining balls toward the range. It causes me to feel badly and I thought he was not a golf lover. I have been coming to Marti's since it opened, my favorite practice range. A little disappointed in the putting green disappearing a few years back.It was awesome for a while. I love the trees that you can use as targets and fade or draw your shots around them. With Marti;s son there he has made some very nice improvement, nothing against Marti, just good changes. I'm due for a swing tuneup soon after all this rain. There are so many practice games you can do there and the only range that has JUMBO baskets!!! I do a lot of putting so maybe an artificial surface to replace the old one might be a solution maybe some bigger contours.
