I'm sure they are great clubs but paying $300 for a set they'll grow out of in a year or two... so we got a set online for like $120. I did like that they had some used equipment for cheaper but even those prices were $$$. read more

As for merchandise, better prices generally can be found online. Practice bays are pretty random in terms of functionality - bring your own balls to at least control one variable. Guys in the store (if you can find one) are friendly enough. Gene is good for a newbies or a quick swing repair. Video and technology can be helpful, but figuring our what the problem is amounts to less than 25% of the process. Never really got any real insight as to feel, drills, etc. - just chased numbers on Trackman/Foresight, which gave vastly different figures. As for Ben, too much time offering helpful hints - a bunch of patches mixed with club testing is destined to fail. Left 5-6 prepaid lessons for someone to grab! read more

Not to be confused with the PG Tips Superstore which just sells British Teabags, although it's unrelated to Teabagging, I hope. I find this golf store to be a little bit on the expensive side, and I didn't much like the service, although some of it is good and some of it not so much. We only shop here for Barbi's relatives, specifically the one uncle that is crazy about golf. Which is weird cuz he's from the wrong income bracket, but you know how that goes these days. It's not a sport we like and so the store itself doesn't appeal to us, but the pricing and the mixed service are the main reasons I give three stars. I did notice a lot of fake one star reviews probably from rivals, and even more fake 5 Star reviews, probably from the business themselves. Once I had my club and few more items I went to checkout and the cashier looked put out to help me and didn't say a word. No hello, no your total is.... Club fitting with BEN at Katy PGA. After 8 years with my trusty Ping irons I decided to treat myself to new equipment and a professional fitting. I had not tried a fitting before and really did not know what to expect. I also did not know what type of replacement irons I wanted, although my thinking was to replace old Ping with new Ping. BEN, the Master Fitter, just back from his latest training, spent 90 minutes patiently and professionally testing with me numerous brands to find the club style that worked for my swing. He checked loft, spin, descent and up angles, distance, speed and numerous other parameters from multiple swings to define the true club for me. That was the first visit. On the second visit we spent 1 hour selecting the correct shaft to arrive at my final selection, Callaway Smoke HL with Cipher shafts. During this enjoyably and enlightening experience I also received numerous bonus tips for game improvement. I highly recommend a fitting with BEN, it was a great experience and I look forward to receiving my new killer irons. read more

I went in to get my irons and a driver regripped. The gentleman was very helpful even though he was busy and looked shorthanded. I am a member which really comes in handy, free install for grips. Anyway, the point of the review was one of my clubs had paint on the shaft and clubhead. I joked with the guy about it and dropped them off and left. Came back the next day to get the clubs and the same guy was there, he ended up cleaning the paint off the shaft and even some of the clubhead. He said he just couldn't take it while he was regripping and had to clean it up, no charge of course. Great service as always. If you get a chance, meet some of the people who work there, they are very helpful and will answer any questions you have. read more

Terrific location just off I10w in Katy. Just bought a driver. Settled on a Wilson D7 10.5 in regular flex. I went there specifically to get fitted for a Cobra driver. However, Kele, one of the managers, suggested that I try the Wilson D7. Love at first swing - according to Trackman I hit it further and straighter than the Cobra model that cost more than $100 than the D7! Kele's experience and desire to put me in the best driver for my swing really served me well! Can't say enough about how happy I am. Golf club junkie and new to the Houston area. Have gone to the store multiple times and the team there is very friendly and helpful. One of their own fitting pros spent 2 hours with me and let me hit several sets of new irons, and was even giving me tips on what would be a great fit. I researched and tried many sets of new irons before I bought a set of cobras. I am completely impressed with them. Longer and more accurate. Great confidence builder. I had help with my choice. I went to Katy store for a driver and fitting. Ben helped me and I couldn't have had a better experience. He spent over 90 minutes with me, we tried 7 or 8 shafts, and several driver heads. He studied the spin rates as well as distance and launch angles. He even had a second assistant come over and they discussed different options. Once we came up with the right driver I ordered it and the price was very competitive. I came back to pick it up and he again checked all the numbers to make sure the shaft was correct. He then suggested taking a look at the best ball for my game. We hit 3 or 4 sleeves of different balls and cane up with a good fit. It was not the most expensive ball and there was no pressure to buy that ball right then although after I checked prices, the Superstore has the best price. I highly recommend giving this store a try when looking for new clubs or a single club. read more

First time in not impressed at all. Walked in no one greeted me and asked if I needed help. Had to physically go up to a worker to ask about being fitted for a club. The worker was not thrilled about being there and or helping. I could see he was not excited to help through his body language. When back at the simulator the worker was busy talking about lunch and not even helping me try to see if the club was a good fit. Didn't see the swing, didn't pay attention to what would be the best fit club wise for me or anything. Baffled me so I figured I wouldn't waste my time. I've been experienced in working out in Orlando for Disney customer service and for the golf channel itself and personally and I would say despite here in Texas I wish this was ran differently with the approach to helping others with the golf game and any in store purchases. I was READY to spend money. It feels like they are here just for the paycheck and unfortunately preoccupied with food to help someone that was highly interested in getting back into the game with purchasing a driver and a club. I held my tongue and walked away from the worker and said I'll come back to think about it. Unfortunately I know I just may be one customer but they've certainly lost me. Will reach out to an old friend Sara No H brown for her recommendations. Sad that I couldn't get help closer to home! But do have the connections. Extremely oblivious sales people on the floor. Went with my elderly mother to buy a shirt as a gift. She is clearly elderly, walks with a cane and had no idea about the different moisture wicking materials for the shirts. I said, "excuse me" to two different sales women walking by at different times. The first completely ignored me and kept walking; the second bee-lined to a thirty-something man asking him, "do you need help?" I do not think she confused my woman's voice with a man's. My gut tells me the sales woman assumed he would more likely be a repeat customer. yep, I was bit peeved. In the 15-plus minutes we were wandering about the shirts, no one offered assistance. My mom finally picked a shirt and a couple boxes of nice golf balls, totaling $150.00. Shame, I have several relatives getting much more involved in the game and initially thought this would be the perfect place to buy gifts in the future for them. As my next golf gift purchase is going to be a nicer set of clubs for one I will continue to do my research on where to buy. Ideally it will be a smaller shop. It definitely won't be here, which is fine as I am very lucky in that I do not need to discount shop. read more

PGA Superstore - Katy, Tx. ABSOLUTE INCOMPETENCE. Very nice technician recommended a shaft that I bought and it turned out to be a 76g shaft for my driver. It was awful, heavy as a sledgehammer. The shaft didn't actually show the weight, I had to look it up. I tried to speak to manager about a refund, trade or credit to get the right shaft but he was too busy and the local tech "Guy" couldn't give a &*$& less. I ate the $94 on a club that was fitted incorrectly by the Woodlands store. I blame myself for not checking everything these jokers told me but I'll take my business for the next 30-40 years to someone else. So heads up folks, make sure you research anything these jokers tell you as YOU know best not them. Flip a coin and you'd get a better return... read more
