I would give location a zero if possible! I came into this location excited to purchase a new set of clubs for my birthday. I'm an avid golfer and was ready to make a significant purchase. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. On my first visit, I felt dismissed and disrespected by an associate. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and assumed it may have simply been an off interaction. However, when I returned two days later with my sister and brother-in-law, the difference in how we were treated was obvious. The associate assisted them with ordering their new clubs, but when it was finally my turn, I was told that they were closing in five minutes and I would need to return another day--despite the fact that I had been waiting and was clearly prepared to buy. After experiencing this twice, I no longer feel comfortable giving this location--or any Golf Galaxy store--my business. I hope management takes steps to address how customers are treated, because no one should feel dismissed or disrespected when they are simply trying to shop. read more

So it was my birthday, the wife gave me the credit card to buy anything I wanted. Went to Golf Galaxy on Richmond near the Galleria. Literally walked up and down every aisle and not on single employee even acknowledged my existence or even made eye contact. Was looking to spend $$$ and no one cared, at least five employees were there and only a couple other customers. It is no wonder Amazon thrives and retail is dying. I wish the old Golf Smith was still around. Never going back and I used to buy all the time at Golf Smith. read more

I came on the previous day and purchased some golfing footwear based on my normal size, when I got home I noticed how tight they were and realized their sizes run small. I Returned the falling day, accidentally forgot the receipt, they exchanged my shoes without any hassle and a smile with a friendly conversation to boot. It's been awhile since I've visited this location. I love the additional space for training and fitting purposes. Great selection of apparel to have you looking your best. Store overall was well stocked for whatever you may need. There wasn't a lot of foot traffic at the time so social distancing wasn't a problem. read more

Now that the northwest location has been closed, I really had to make my way over here. I really enjoy how friendly and helpful their staff is! The store is quite organized and easy to seek for needed items. My only complaint is that it was hard to spot out the store at night! The repair guy here is a rude, dismissive, jerk. When I asked him a question about a shaft, of which he didn't seem to know the answer, he suggested I "just go buy a new club". And his manner of speaking is disinterested, annoyed and condescending. This is the best golf store in Houston if you're looking for trendy clothes and gear in most of the popular name brands. Clean, organized and welcoming. The staff is really friendly and helpful. They've got sales going on quite often, so if you sign up via email, you'll get notifications--useful if you wear popular/common sizes. Their selection for bags, shoes, clubs and accessories is excellent, especially the putters. There's a little putting green in the front, and a virtual driving range in the back. read more

So we have been going to this one on Richmond for years to pick up balls and gloves and other golf essentials. Finally the time came where I needed to replace my older Pings. Went shopping around many Houston locations. After hearing all this crap from other stores and shops about you need this and that and their employees pushing this brand or that brand. Hitting in there bays and getting the hard sell and thinking I won't even replace my old irons because this is turning into some golf nightmare. I am telling you, one more sales guy saying I need standard clubs and can be on the course today if you purchase these right now (I am 6ft 5in so standard is out) and I was going to blow a gasket. So we decided to swing by Golf Galaxy. I am telling you it was a huge difference, the staff actually listens to what your saying. I tested some irons in the hitting bay and collected my data that they provided and went home to think on it. Came back a couple days latter and got paired up with Jim, older employee that spent another hour with me trying the entire range of Ping irons, patiently switching the heads as I hit them in the bay. Loading the shaft I wanted and the lie I have been hitting all these years. That Ping fitting box has everything, not once did Jim say he didn't have something and not once did he say a negative thing about Ping. And not once did Jim try and sell me this weeks specials that would surely knock off 5 strokes. Most importantly he listened to me and did not try and up sell this or that, did not mention my hip movement or grip but instead provided great feedback and service. Needless to say I went with the iBlades as they felt and looked great. I know going out to purchase new clubs can be iffy, especially if you get "that employee" that thinks he should be on the tour instead of working customer service on a Saturday, but Jim and the staff at Golf Galaxy we anything but that. So there you go, my 2 cents. Yes I am ecstatic I have new clubs on the way, Jim and the staff at Golf Galaxy turned the whole experience around and I had a great time. read more

Houston weather has been unforgiving since I got back... but since I have been driving a lot of places I have not had to deal with too much rain (I know... I know... a San Francisco yuppie-hippie driving as opposed to taking the bus etc.) That was until a fateful Tuesday. I had decided to walk to Chipotle for lunch, since it wasn't too far. But on my way back... CRACK-FLASH lightening and the heavens opened. I very quickly regretted not having an umbrella in my possession. But within 4 minutes I was in-out and umbrella in hand thanks to the friendly staff at Golf Galaxy. The guy saw that I was slightly wet from having been punished for my lack of umbrella and didn't try to sell me a more expensive model. He handed me the el-cheapo and I was on my way. (those of you who haven't tried to buy a golf umbrella maybe haven't seen the $70-80 golf umbrellas for sale... and for that price I think it should putt for you) read more

I just traded two sets of irons for some Burner 2.0s with graphite shafts. I thought the dollars offerred for my old clubs was reasonable so I took the trade. The icing on the cake was the professional service provided by Mike Deering. He took extra care of the clubs when he changed the lie angle -- making sure the change was accurate and he was careful to avoid damaging the shafts in the process. It is quite pleasant to work with a courteous and knowledgable professional rather than some minimum wage person who could care less if you ever darken the door again. What a great place! I was really surprised by how helpful and friendly the staff was. As I do not play every weekend, I was worried this would be a similar experience to other specialty shops where the staff can make you feel, well, less than welcomed if your not a Pro. i have bought several things here and the service was great this review is based on my last purchase, i came here to buy a big bertha driver that was on sale for $199 then i asked marty (the salesman) for other drivers that were very good and not that expensive he gave me two ping and two callaways so i could try them they didnt have the ping I25 on demo so he just grabbed a new one and taped the head so it wouldnt get scratched and he let me demo all those drivers on the simulator, i felt good because he wasnt making any pressure nor he was hurrying me up, he would just come by once in a while to see how i was doing, it was really hard for me to decide on four drivers so it was important for me i could try them all and compare. not many stores let you do this. i promise you you wont be dissapointed in this store! read more
