I bought my first brand new set of clubs from Edwin Watts in New Orleans in 2012 and enjoyed my buying experience. At the beginning of the year I had to pass on my clubs to my son since he began playing for his high school team creating an opportunity for me to purchase a new set ;) After looking around for golf stores in the area I was in I found another Edwin Watts location. As soon as I walked in the door Richard H. came right up to me asking if he could help me find anything. I informed him that I was wanting to look for a new set of clubs. He asked me if I had anything in mind and I told him the two brands and models I was interested in. Richard got me in the simulator and 2.5 hours later I walked out with a new set that I was confident with. I hit the two models that I was interested in and I did not hit them as well as another model Richard had me hit. The model that I purchased was actually cheaper and I hit them more accurate and farther than either of the models I intended on purchasing. Richard was thorough in evaluating my swing and making the adjustment needed to get me the right clubs. I am definitely going to be referring all my golfing buddies to this location and I will be back to get my son a new set if he decides to commit to playing.

Now this could be dangerous, I am no Tiger Woods but I do enjoy my golf and now I have found a really decent golf store about five minutes away from my office! Uh-oh, there goes the paycheck! I had been to around three or four previous stores before heading, on a friends suggestion, to Edwin Watts and I was pleasantly pleased with what I found. The previous stores either fell into the category of pushy sales guys trying to make their commission and not really listening to what I am after, or, useless as hell because they sell everything from tennis racquets to bleeding swimming trunks and none of the tellers know much a bugger all about golf! Edwin Watts was neither, I explained to the sales guy, who greeted me as soon as I entered the door but let me come to him for help as opposed to pouncing on me and telling me I needed the $1200 Ping irons just from watching how I held my stance as I entered the door??!! The sales guy really did know his stuff and when I explained to him I had already been on-line and checked out what they had, I already had a good idea of what it was I wanted. Now I went in their needing everything! Irons, Driver, Woods, Bag, Shoes, Balls (no giggling at the last one) and the guy was more than accommodating. They have a VR driving range at the back which I could whack my balls against (okay you can giggle at that one) and generally I felt well taken care of without being set upon and forced to buy everything in the store because it would improve my game dramatically! On the whole I thought everything was well priced, to be honest most stores throughout Houston will be similarly priced as it is not really individual stores that can dictate their prices. I however bought last seasons Taylor Mades', and the stores can choose their own prices on last seasons gear and really as long as you aren't stupidly small or big foots long lost brother then the standard sizing will fit you fine and therefore you can look at last seasons gear. Remember, this seasons gear only has about 10 months left before it will lose that grand title! All in all I was around $1200 which believe me was a good deal. Happy to go back again and certainly will be very soon. They also provide lessons on the VR simulator which looked quite interesting and I think I will be checking that out soon.

Because of this it seems a bit smaller than other locations but still has the basics They have a huge parking lot Selection: They have plenty of summer outdoor clothes which is what I came for . That being said, their women's swimsuits are really lacking ... I couldn't find a single plain one- piece They have the usual fishing and hunting sections too, though hunting is in a bump out separate from the rest of the store . In this Academy, fishing licenses are sold at checkout - not in the hunting/fishing area Dressing rooms: They had a lot of dressing rooms available. They were clean but dingey with no attendant Service: The greeter was very awkward and barely greeted me at all. Was an awkward entry. I didn't see another person until checkout and while polite , the cashier was very quiet and not particularly informative while I was buying my fishing license .

NEVER GO OR BUY ANYTHING FROM THAT BRAND OR STORE…read more BE CAREFUL OF SCAMS I am extremely dissatisfied with my recent experience at the Dick's Sporting Goods of 2131 Post Oak Blvd, Houston, TX 77056. I purchased an item that, upon further inspection, did not accurately match the description provided on its labeling and was therefore unsuitable for its intended use. When I attempted to return the item on May 9, 2026, the store staff Martin denied the return request on the grounds that the item had been opened. What was particularly concerning was that the store refused not only to process the refund, but also to return the item or receipt to me. Additionally, I was left without any reimbursement, which I believe reflects a highly unprofessional handling of a legitimate customer concern. After expressing my intention to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and relevant consumer protection agencies, the situation escalated unnecessarily. A security individual was brought into the interaction and presented himself in a manner implying law enforcement authority, yet he declined to provide identification, a badge number, or his name when requested. During the encounter, I felt intimidated and harassed. The individual also made physical contact with me without justification and attempted to photograph me and obtain images of my identification using a personal cell phone, actions I found deeply inappropriate and troubling. Overall, I found the environment hostile and the conduct of the staff and security personnel highly unprofessional. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this location to other consumers. I intend to pursue formal complaints through the Better Business Bureau and applicable consumer protection channels, and I will also explore potential legal remedies regarding the handling of this incident and the conduct of the personnel involved. Furthermore, I will continue seeking a full refund for the disputed purchase.

No reason 3 employees should be in an aisle just standing and talking. Makes it's hard to shop for shoes, tried waiting for them to move, but they were there for a good 15-20 mins so kinda sucks. Also, all the shoe sizes were mixed in the clearance, youth-womens-men's, everything and all sizes was super crazy. To top it all off, they allowed a homeless man to roam the store and just yell for our last 15 minutes in the store.. so yeah, probably would not be returning to this store. Only saving grace was the cashier was super nice, only reason I'm giving 2 stars.

The store is fully stocked and staffed on a busy Sunday afternoon. Lots of customers shopping, that's a good sign. I haven't been to a sporting goods store since the beginning of Covid-19 pandemic.
