We ran out of food twice while women were standing in line waiting. At one point it took them 10 minutes to refill and those standing, chose not to wait any longer. You'd think staff would be monitoring a buffet intended to serve 40 women. Rather, we had absolutely no one monitoring to ensure things were all set with food and drinks. Myself and another were constantly going into the kitchen asking for someone to help us. 7) We had no one available to remove dirty plates when we finished; some our women to include me got up to help remove everyone dirty dishes. It truly was so very frustrating and disappointing. I guess after receiving our final deposit that morning as paid in full, there was little to no incentive to make sure our luncheon was attended to. Beware... you absolutely do not get what you pay for!!! PS: the food was yummy but all that DID NOT happen that SHOULD OF HAPPENED truly did spoil the who luncheon. The 2 star rating is a 100% could of been better with having SOMEONE in charge taking care to make sure our needs were being met.

Golf Review: Falcon Point is a private club in Katy that's…read morepart of the clubcorp group. I played with a member recently and had a tough round in the summer heat, but the course itself was very nice. The course was very challenging. There's water on 16 of the 18 holes, fairways are tight, sand traps are placed riiiight where you typically roll your drives, loooong par 4's, postage stamp elevated greens and those massive bushes that love to steal your ball. I suffered even worse because it was my first go at the course, so plenty of surprises. One condition issue was the tee boxes. I'm not sure if they were re-seeding or things were moved around due to a recent tournament, but the distance to the holes from the tees were way off from score card yardage and looked beat up. Service was great. Everyone I encountered was friendly and happy to help. We had a tee time following a junior tournament so there were plenty of people milling about but we still got everything we needed quickly. Facilities were nice enough though I didn't linger. They have a large bar room next to the pro shop for that hole 19 beer. I changed in the locker room and did notice that the changing area seemed a bit shabby for a private club. Thin carpet, nameplates missing from lockers, scuffed furniture, etc. I'm not considering membership at this club or any others at this time, so I'm just focusing on the golf round which was good. If you typically slice or haven't broken the 90's in your game, bring extra balls and some patience.

Unfortunately for me, it is the closest driving range and putting green to where I live in West Houston. I went to the driving range on Friday late afternoon in hopes of hitting some balls and working on my putting. The young man at the Pro Shop stood there and stared at me, waiting for me to engage him, complete lack of customer service. Every time I enter the Pro Shop it is clear that I am inconveniencing them. $15 for a large bucket of balls...ridiculously expensive, especially for what you get. Then, have to take your receipt and go to the surly gentleman working in the starter shack. No words spoken...snatches the ticket out of your hand and gives you a partially-filled bucket of old, nasty range balls that look like they had better days back in the 1990's! The only redeeming quality the starter has is that he plays good music! The putting green was closed because apparently they are unable to grow grass in Houston. The driving range is a joke. No grass to hit off of (at least you can practice your right lies!) and hardly any poles / flags to aim at: I lasered targets at 40 yds, 90 yds, 130 yds, 190 yds and 240 yds. Not sure about others but some semi-standard flags distributed across the range at reasonable yardages can't cost all that much...especially at $15/bucket!! 50 yds, 100 yds, 125 yds, 150 yds, 175 yds, 200 yds, 250 yds makes sense to me!

These guys cram an entire high school golf team 30 minutes in front of our tee time and have the gall to tell me "oh they'll be gone long before you get up the tee box, they play fast"; our threesome literally took nearly 3 hours to play the front nine holes, on a WEEKDAY!!! We were waiting two groups deep on nearly every single hole in front nine of this crappy course. Then on hole number nine some ignorant yet again sorry excuse of a marshal comes up and has the nerve to tell us "Hey we need you to rush to get off this hole so you can get to the 10th hole before 5:30; we don't see an issue with you guys make it through but the group behind you wants to play the last hole before 5:30 so could you hurry it up?" I was literally two seconds away from reading this POS the riot act. Back nine was much more pleasant but the downright lying no good service has ruined it for me, forever. Note: the greens on first 4-5 holes were absolute trash, second cut of rough was unmanaged left uncut for months, etc. pathetic.

Being a semi…read moreprivate club, it means you can still get a T time without the membership and the stuffy Colonel Sanders type often occupy the country club rosters. Gold: 7,100 Blue 6,600 White 6,000 Red 5,000 Lots of memorable holes, with bunker laden and hazard crowding, wind moving wheat fields squeezed par 5's to the volcanic par 3 surrounded by tall little farm on the prairie-ish dense vegetation. This course poses a challenge to all that comes before it. With greens that runs true year around, this is a golf course for serious golfers. Cons: The tall and impossible to trot through rough are cut down. Price is ridiculously high for a course which lacks prestige. Around $100 on weekends same price for cart or walking. It's roughly $400 a month for a membership, but you still have to pay cart fees? If you must see what Norman envisions as a course, this is might be a pretty good experience. But I'll take Dye or Jones any day, as with the high grassy knolls mowed down, this course is becoming a tiger with no teeth.

Super responsive, welcoming, and just genuinely great to work with. When we arrived, he met us outside, gave us a full tour, and let us experience the space firsthand. We got to play some of the batting games, try an entrée, and grab a couple of drinks--everything was a great preview of what they offer. The setup is really versatile. You can host a meeting in a private space and then transition right into the batting experience, which makes it perfect for team outings or offsites. Pricing was very reasonable, and they even offer 15% off on Corporate Thursdays, which is a nice perk. Also didn't realize they host concerts--definitely adds to the overall vibe. We haven't officially booked yet, but this spot is absolutely worth checking out. Whether it's for a team event or just a fun hangout with friends, it's a unique and well-run place.
