Chicken Caesar wrap was kind of dry but decent flavor.
    Jessica D.

I stopped here super quick to grab some take out. It took about 15 mins to get a chicken caesar wrap and fries. For $16 (plus tip) I was expecting more but it wasn't terrible. The wrap had small diced up chicken which was very dry and didn't have enough caesar dressing. I paid extra for fries on the side, which were actually potato wedges and it was about the size of a small handful. Service was very friendly though.

Buffalo chicken wrap with onion rings

We stopped here on our way to the hotel. We wanted the diner and it wasn't open so we went to the back which is the bar area and they sat us outside. The young girl who sat us seemed like we were bothering her. Our waitress was SUPER nice though. Our food came out very fast. I had a buffalo chicken wrap and the buffalo sauce was VERY spicy! But the wrap was very good. The onion rings were okay. Overall I would come back here.

I want to give a shout out to our cool ass server Lizzie! We wanted to have a beer on the upper deck and she made it happen. Best place to have a drink in town. I recommend getting the loaded potato wedges. They were perfectly fried and seasoned.

This place has really nice bar staff and very well priced diner food! Home made sauces and well poured drinks. Food came out very fast. The wings were super good for being away from the buffalo area. Obviously not a gourmet spot but if your on a budget or need a quick bite for lunch this is the place to go. The only reason I couldn't give this place another star was the bathrooms need fixing up :(

An "extra" for my sandwich, ordered to-go

I was in Old Forge a few days after Labor Day, and picked this place solely for convenience. Ordered a Chicken Caesar wrap (to go) and was surprised at how good it was. The building looks like it was converted from an old Howard Johnson's restaurant, so wasn't expecting too much in the way of quality food. They definitely didn't skimp on the ingredients: my sandwich was stuffed with chicken. The Caesar dressing on it was homemade, with a nice tangy flavor. And the cook must have been feeling pretty good, because he even drew a little Front Door logo on the top of my to-go container. Very charming. I had to eat while driving, and my sandwich stayed hot for a good 30 minutes after I left the restaurant. The one thing that didn't please me about the Front Door is that a $1 "To Go charge" was added to my bill. Never heard of such a thing. If I'm not taking up space at a table and not demanding anything of a waitress's time, what's to justify the added charge? Overall, I enjoyed my sandwich, and would stop there again next time I happen to be in Old Forge.

A decent pie... Sauce could use some work.

This is not a foodie place... and that's fine. If you're looking for something special, go somewhere else, but I definitely wouldn't say this place is going to be regrettable. We had quality food. The soup was tasty. The pizza was acceptable. The chicken fingers were juicy, not cardbord. The mushroom swiss burger(s) were chared nicely (though overcooked) and had an excellent bun(s). The wings were delicious. This place feels like a cafeteria, due to the lighting, I think. The movie memorabilia on the walls was interresting. Service was decent, as was the time we waited for our food was not excessive. Up until this point I had rated this place 4 stars. The bill reflected the tourist nature of the town. $8 burgers were $10. A taste of soup was $3... Did I love that my bill was 20% higher than it should have been? No. Was I OK with it, given the fact that town was packed and I was full in the time it would have taken other places to seat us? Yes.

We ate here for breakfast and the food was fantastic. Everyone really enjoyed their food. I had the Sausage biscuit Benny. Only downfall is once you get your food good luck getting a refill of coffee.

It's always a fun night at the back door!

Good basic American diner food. Nothing too fancy, but just right on a summer evening.

It helps us avoid eating awful (and surprisingly expensive) fast food, and we can usually find a gem or two. Lately, we've been passing through Utica, and Craylee's is a GEM. The folks running this place are so darn nice. I never say darn, but I feel like they might say darn, so I'm saying it here. They are fast, and friendly, and brought our little girls actual, nice coloring books, and their very own crayon case with like 200 crayons instead of the stumpy red and blue crayon and one sheet of paper you might get at a chain place. The space is nothing crazy, but it's thoughtfully decorated with some small homey touches like string lights that make it feel lived in. Infinitely better than a Thruway McDonald's. Best of all, the food is excellent. It's just a local, tasty diner menu, but they're putting care and love into the food. My kids rolled with chicken fingers and fries (huge surprise there), but my Hannah's Special (a two egg breakfast with a piece of french toast) was everything I wanted it to be. I did have to make a lot of decisions (overeasy, hash browns, rye, sausage links), but I aced them all, and so did the kitchen. The biggest surprise was my wife's turkey club melt, which was legitimately amazing. We talked about it for an embarrassingly long time in the car afterward. I'm going to want this again. Craylee's is doing it right, and we'll be back when we roll through Utica again.

We were in the mood for lunch and they were only serving breakfast that Sunday. So, we opted for the most lunch-ish thing available that wasn't too heavy. Bagels and cream cheese. They were perfectly toasted and there was plenty of spreadable cream cheese. It made for a perfect light lunch. I don't eat eggs, so it did limit my options. If you do eat eggs, their breakfast dishes with eggs look amazing. Of course, we tried the coffee. It was very good and we loved the mugs. The place is rustic-charming. The service was good. It's a busy place. We loved the regulars who stopped in and didn't even need to say what they wanted. The servers already knew. The service is good but slow. Not sure if that's because they were busy or if they're just not the type to rush things. The bathrooms are clean. There is an up-charge for credit cards. It's hard to resist buying mugs and coffee to take home. The cookies were so hard to resist we bought some to keep us snack-happy on our travels. Definitely a good place to stop.

Cavu was at the top of their list! And with their description of planes taking off and landing nearby, we thought it would be the perfect spot to bring our toddler. To access the restaurant, you have to walk into the airport. I've never been in such a tiny airport before! The cafe space overlooks the tarmac, but we were a little bummed that we only saw one plane takeoff while we were eating. We aren't locals and assumed there would be more! But that wasn't an issue. Plus, once my toddler started to get fussy, the staff whipped out a coloring book and some crayons. It was so so kind of them and nice that they were prepared. The food was excellent as well. My husband got the hash and eggs and was very pleased with the big hunks of corned beef throughout the hash. I tried his homefries and they were also delicious! I got the apple stuffed french toast to share with my toddler. It was perfect. We also got a side of maple cream, which I still dream of. Will definitely come back on our next trip to the area.
