I cannot say enough wonderful things about Chef Ward and his team. I hired Chef Ward for my sister's bachelorette party dinner (16 ladies) over Labor Day weekend, and I couldn't have made a better choice. From estimates to menu changes to rentals, expect all questions to be answered with quick responses and the utmost professionalism. While his services may be pricier than others, it is WORTH IT! The team arrived on time, hardly bothered with kitchen questions while I set up decorations, immediately got to work and were so much fun to have in the house. Your menus will be personalized, and the Chef will explain each course as it is delivered to the table by the staff. The staff will set the table, serve drinks, retrieve dishes after each course, clean, and keep you great company (I tried to opt out of this and wasn't allowed, but once I saw the execution I completely understood why they require this addition). I decided not to make any changes to the menu, and that was the right call. Each dish transitioned perfectly, was delicious, and almost looked too pretty to eat. At the end of the meal, it turned out the "staff" member serving us our wine (BYOW) was a sommelier! I was blown away. Best of all - if you have a crazy mishap, you'll be relieved these folks are the ones in your house. Long story, but a tabletop floral decoration CAUGHT ON FIRE during the dinner. We all froze and passed it around in a panic, but the Chef immediately ran over, threw it on the floor, and put the fire out immediately. Talk about multiple skill sets!! If you've got the money, skip the restaurant (and wine markup) and have a five star dinner in the comforts of your own home. read more

We were incredibly lucky to have Kori, Mark and Liz as our team that prepared, served, and helped set up our event at my mothers house. They were INCREDIBLE. To say the food was amazing would be an understatement. I've been to some incredible Michelin star restaurants around the globe and quite frankly, this team rivals them. Michael was wonderful with answering questions and communication and Kori was incredible at creating a perfectly curated menu, catering to everyones specific dietary needs and restrictions, and making the entire event absolutely perfect. I've been receiving weekly meals from these chefs for several weeks now and they continue to delight. I had some dietary changes that are tricky to work with (for me) but Chef Michael and Chef Lowen don't even seem phased. We wanted relatively "simple" meals (protein and a side veggie), but the meals have always been packed with flavor, unique each week, and cooked to perfection. My 1 year old even eats just about everything they make us with exception of anything spicy! On top of the food itself, the delivery has also been great. I always get a message ahead of time and, if for some reason I missed the message, they wait to make sure I'm not leaving the food outside in the elements. This was my first experience with a private chef and I full enjoyed every minute. I booked this for my best friend's bachelorette party (HIGHLY recommend this for bachelorette parties). We ended up having a smaller group than expected for the night and Michael (chef) and Brad (server/bartender) were so flexible and made the experience wonderful. We wanted a low-key night in our airbnb and we ended up watching a movie on the couch while Michael brought us appetizers and Brad brought us drinks. The two of them were so fun to talk to while we were hanging out and they were preparing. It felt like they were our friends there to hang out but also give us great service. Brad helped me with a shopping list on what to buy at the store for cocktails (opted not to do the signature cocktail but could imagine that would be super fun for larger groups). He made great cocktails and customized them for girls with different preferences (stronger, sweeter, etc...). He also suggested certain cocktails for different parts of dinner that were PERFECT. For example, he made a great old fashioned to go with our olive oil cake for dessert.... yum. Michael explained each dish to us as he brought them out and each dish was so tasty. The presentation was amazing (see pictures) and really added a fun and special aspect to the experience. Michael was telling us that they are always trying new things in their kitchen which made it feel like this was a unique experience, just for us. The whole night made us feel very special. Lastly, the booking and planning process could not have been better. Every person I talked to was so kind and flexible and helpful. Overall, would highly recommend booking with The Austin Artisan. With the COVID restrictions lessening we decided to have a small dinner party made up of 9 people who have been working together for some time. We didn't want to have to split up at a restaurant so I decided to have this in my condo in downtown Austin. I hired The Austin Artisan crew to cook for us. In a word...Amazing. From the start, when I was contacted by Clayton to go over the customized menu, dietary restrictions, wine pairings, etc., to the execution and finish with Michael Wards and his crew, Kori and Seri. This is definitely artisan cooking, with incredible food pairings that you would never come up with on your own. After serving every dish Michael explained exactly what we're eating, along with the wine paired with the dish. He and the crew were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable, making the entire experience immersive between us and them. This was an experience you would never even come close to getting at a restaurant. Dessert was the best Baked Alaska I, and most of the others, have ever had, with a perfectly paired dessert wine. Cleanup? Magic. When they left 3 hours later you would never even know they had been here. The cost? For 9 of us it was less than we would have spent at a high end restaurant. Win-win all around. We discovered Chef Michael Wards and his team during our neighbor's holiday party last year, when they were known as 'SC3 Catering'. To say we were impressed by the dishes he prepared would be an understatement. So creative and flavorful!
