We had a truly wonderful experience with The Austin Artisan. They were easy to work with, very flexible, and the two gals who worked on the evening of our event were fun and friendly and the guests all loved the food. BRAVO!! read more

"We recently had a private chef experience with Austin Artisan and were thoroughly disappointed. The chef seemed unfamiliar with the menu, and several courses, such as the bao and potstickers, tasted like they were pre-packaged rather than freshly made. Our group has hired many private chefs over the years, and unfortunately, this was by far the worst experience we've had. Truly disappointing. read more

We hired The Austin Artisan for a bachelors party in Austin. It was an amazing experience and even better service and food! They were accommodating and easy to work with! read more

Unclear where to begin because this experience was perfection. Chef Alex and Matt arrived on time, were so professional and, bless them, they were so patient with our big group. The service, prep, professionalism, and clean up was beyond. Best part by far was absolutely the food! The menu crafted for us met our needs, allergies and wants exactly! If I could give 100 stars I would. Get this crew for your event. It is so worth it!! Thank you!! Oh also, we had box red wine (limited Costco options) and Matt found a decanter to make us look less trashy than we are. Thank you Matt!! read more

You still don't seem to understand that your mismanagement & carelessness can get people sick. No excuses to leave food in the extreme heat or not put ice on food left in the heat. There's 2 sides to every story. I really do wish you all the best of luck The amount of work having to deal with your service was exhausting. Be safe read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Chef Ward and his team. I hired Chef Ward for my sister's bachelorette party dinner (16 ladies) over Labor Day weekend, and I couldn't have made a better choice. From estimates to menu changes to rentals, expect all questions to be answered with quick responses and the utmost professionalism. While his services may be pricier than others, it is WORTH IT! The team arrived on time, hardly bothered with kitchen questions while I set up decorations, immediately got to work and were so much fun to have in the house. Your menus will be personalized, and the Chef will explain each course as it is delivered to the table by the staff. The staff will set the table, serve drinks, retrieve dishes after each course, clean, and keep you great company (I tried to opt out of this and wasn't allowed, but once I saw the execution I completely understood why they require this addition). I decided not to make any changes to the menu, and that was the right call. Each dish transitioned perfectly, was delicious, and almost looked too pretty to eat. At the end of the meal, it turned out the "staff" member serving us our wine (BYOW) was a sommelier! I was blown away. Best of all - if you have a crazy mishap, you'll be relieved these folks are the ones in your house. Long story, but a tabletop floral decoration CAUGHT ON FIRE during the dinner. We all froze and passed it around in a panic, but the Chef immediately ran over, threw it on the floor, and put the fire out immediately. Talk about multiple skill sets!! If you've got the money, skip the restaurant (and wine markup) and have a five star dinner in the comforts of your own home. read more

We were incredibly lucky to have Kori, Mark and Liz as our team that prepared, served, and helped set up our event at my mothers house. They were INCREDIBLE. To say the food was amazing would be an understatement. I've been to some incredible Michelin star restaurants around the globe and quite frankly, this team rivals them. Michael was wonderful with answering questions and communication and Kori was incredible at creating a perfectly curated menu, catering to everyones specific dietary needs and restrictions, and making the entire event absolutely perfect. Liz paid incredible attention to detail and provided excellent service. Mark made unbelievable drinks and set the stage for a beautiful event. It was more than food - it was an experience. I cannot recommend them enough. From preparation to presentation to cleanup, they were absolutely amazing. Thank you all for making this an event to remember! read more

Just finished having one of the best meals in my entire life. Michael was amazing and incredibly creative and prepared for our private meal tonight. My sister in law put hired them to put on a special dinner for my brother and it was a night to remember. Every piece of this five course meal was extremely well thought out and unique to tonight's event and my brothers pallet. It felt like Uéchi co at home! I would highly recommend These guys to everyone. read more

The Austin Artisan - Caterers Near Me - Austin, Texas

Austin Artisan was great! Michael was super responsive as we went through a few tweaks to the event after a rather short lead time booking. Chef Kori was amazing, as was the server. They took great care of our home and our guests and made it a night to remember. On top of the great food, it was so nice to walk in to the kitchen at the end of a great night and not see the counter covered with dirty dishes, pots and pans. I think the kitchen and range was cleaner when they left than arrived. We will definitely use their service again! read more

The food was absolutely to die for! The chefs were fun and made sure our cocktails were never empty. We couldn't stop talking about the dinner party, the food, or the cocktails!! read more

I've been receiving weekly meals from these chefs for several weeks now and they continue to delight. I had some dietary changes that are tricky to work with (for me) but Chef Michael and Chef Lowen don't even seem phased. We wanted relatively "simple" meals (protein and a side veggie), but the meals have always been packed with flavor, unique each week, and cooked to perfection. My 1 year old even eats just about everything they make us with exception of anything spicy! On top of the food itself, the delivery has also been great. I always get a message ahead of time and, if for some reason I missed the message, they wait to make sure I'm not leaving the food outside in the elements. Highly recommend their meal service and look forward to one day having them cater a meal for us! read more

Thank you Michael for an exceptional dinner experience. The food was above and beyond our expectations. The service was personal and handled professionally. We are hooked. We already booked our next dinner. Thank you Michael an the artisan team. read more

We wanted a carefree staycation so we hired The Austin Artisan to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for an entire weekend. Our dinner was full service and had a wine pairing. Breakfast was a 20 minute prepared dish and lunch was fully catered and set up. I could not recommend these guys enough. The food was delicious and they just made everything super easy and lovely. I intend to get meal delivery services for dinner moving forward! read more

This was my first experience with a private chef and I full enjoyed every minute. I booked this for my best friend's bachelorette party (HIGHLY recommend this for bachelorette parties). We ended up having a smaller group than expected for the night and Michael (chef) and Brad (server/bartender) were so flexible and made the experience wonderful. We wanted a low-key night in our airbnb and we ended up watching a movie on the couch while Michael brought us appetizers and Brad brought us drinks. The two of them were so fun to talk to while we were hanging out and they were preparing. It felt like they were our friends there to hang out but also give us great service. Brad helped me with a shopping list on what to buy at the store for cocktails (opted not to do the signature cocktail but could imagine that would be super fun for larger groups). He made great cocktails and customized them for girls with different preferences (stronger, sweeter, etc...). He also suggested certain cocktails for different parts of dinner that were PERFECT. For example, he made a great old fashioned to go with our olive oil cake for dessert.... yum. Michael explained each dish to us as he brought them out and each dish was so tasty. The presentation was amazing (see pictures) and really added a fun and special aspect to the experience. Michael was telling us that they are always trying new things in their kitchen which made it feel like this was a unique experience, just for us. The whole night made us feel very special. Lastly, the booking and planning process could not have been better. Every person I talked to was so kind and flexible and helpful. Overall, would highly recommend booking with The Austin Artisan. It was a great experience. read more

WOW! What an amazing experience! I hired Austin Artisan for a small private dinner for my son's 21st birthday and everything was handled so professionally with so much attention to detail! Chef Michael called promptly after my inquiry. He asked questions and came up with a spot on menu for my beef eating son. Clayton, the event planner came to our house about 2 weeks before the dinner, and gave me ideas and checked out the work space. The night of the dinner was just amazing. Chef Kori made an incredible meal and her assistant Amanda was so very attentive! A huge success and a very memorable experience was created! Thank you so very much! read more

The entire experience, from the initial consult to the night of was top-notch service, truly a great team at The Austin Artisan. The Austin Artisan really saved the day. After our original chef cancelled on our private dinner last minute, Chef Michael responded to me and worked with me. He stuck to the menu and got us on the schedule THREE DAYS before the private dinner. He sent his team, Chef Kori, Clayton and Oscar to execute the service, and they were PHENOMENAL! I got great feedback from the dinner hosts and the dinner guests. They were personable, and the food was perfect! Thank you so much for saving the day! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

Chef Michael was incredible. He came to our AirBNB and played along with all of our fun bachelorette games! Not only was the food gorgeous, but everything we tasted was better than the course before. I will absolutely use The Austin Artisan again and highly recommend this to my friends! read more

The Best At Home Private Catering Experience ever. I just can't say enough about how delicious the food was, or the over the top friendly service. I had a birthday party for 20 people and everyone was asking me after, who was the catering company? Sooo good. read more

With the COVID restrictions lessening we decided to have a small dinner party made up of 9 people who have been working together for some time. We didn't want to have to split up at a restaurant so I decided to have this in my condo in downtown Austin. I hired The Austin Artisan crew to cook for us. In a word...Amazing. From the start, when I was contacted by Clayton to go over the customized menu, dietary restrictions, wine pairings, etc., to the execution and finish with Michael Wards and his crew, Kori and Seri. This is definitely artisan cooking, with incredible food pairings that you would never come up with on your own. After serving every dish Michael explained exactly what we're eating, along with the wine paired with the dish. He and the crew were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable, making the entire experience immersive between us and them. This was an experience you would never even come close to getting at a restaurant. Dessert was the best Baked Alaska I, and most of the others, have ever had, with a perfectly paired dessert wine. Cleanup? Magic. When they left 3 hours later you would never even know they had been here. The cost? For 9 of us it was less than we would have spent at a high end restaurant. Win-win all around. Can't wait to have them back. read more

Chef Mike and Clayton are truly entertainers as well as INCREDIBLE chefs. His staff is great at parties to help keep everything running smoothly. The thing I appreciate the most is that I am a incredibly picky eater, and I have never disliked a dish they have made. Needless to say, if you ever need a in home chef or a catering chef in house, he is your man! read more

This service is AWESOME! The food is great and the service is very customized to your needs. Between what we save in going out to eat and grocery store trips, this services is a very affordable luxury for the busy family. Let me start by saying, I specifically looked at this chefs apron label, from across a room, to figure out what company he works for.. I haven't even used this company, but I'm sitting across from a chef (presumably) pitching his services to a potential client, in my local Whole Foods, and I am blown away by his professionalism and clear passion of his trade. He seems very straightforward and clear about what he and his company provide, while maintaining a friendly attitude. I have no need for a caterer or professional chef, but I would go straight to this guy if the need every arises. read more

WOW! WOW! WOW! The Austin Artisan crafted an AMAZING 50th wedding anniversary dinner for my parents--their menu absolutely captivated each and every guest from the teenagers to the senior citizens--I am amazed they were able to engage such a wide span of palates. But what really set them apart was not just their delicious food, but the fact that they were a delight to work with--they listened well, were not fussy at all, and they put the emphasis where it needed to be--on my parents and their celebration, they understood that their menu, as fabulous as it is, was a means to an end (the celebration) and not the end in and of itself. I would HIGHLY recommend this group for any and every occasion! read more

Loved Chef Michael Wards and the private dinner. The food was phenomenal and the service exceptional!

We started using their service when I was going to have surgery. I wanted to eat healthily with some portion control during that time. The food was so good and it is so easy, we have continued to use their service. We usually do 3 dinners per week for the two of us plus three healthy snacks, salads and dessert. We find this works really well for us. read more

SC3 Catering and Chef Wards do not disappoint! His passion for seasonal foods can not be matched. I've attended several of his supper clubs and each event is wonderful and the food is great. If you are looking for the best caterer in Austin, stop here. I found Austin Artisan by doing an online search and did I hit the jackpot. We hosted a party for 40 and they nailed it. Chef Michael, Clayton, and his team are by far the best. The food was amazing, and the signature cocktail, white sangria, was a hit!!! Once they arrived, as Chef Michael said 'we were guests at our own party". We will definitely be working with Chef Michael and his team again. read more

I can't say enough good things about Chef Michael Wards. Not only is he an incredible cook, but he is extremely reliable, professional, innovative, and all-around fantastic event partner. As a corporate event planner, I have very high expectations of the caterers I use and I would trust him and his team with any event - big or small. Picking out a menu is hard enough, don't pick a caterer who is also difficult to work with on top of it! You will be in great hands with this group. read more

We discovered Chef Michael Wards and his team during our neighbor's holiday party last year, when they were known as 'SC3 Catering'. To say we were impressed by the dishes he prepared would be an understatement. So creative and flavorful! We knew Chef Michael and his team would be the perfect choice for catering our marriage celebration. Chef Michael suggested a menu and worked with us on the logistics (tables, bar setups, glasses, plates, etc)-- he made sure all the details were taken care of. The food was AMAZING. Two months after our event, we are *still* getting comments from our friends and family who attended the party-- the food was that memorable! We had two guests that had life-changing experiences over one of Chef Michael's creations. His team kept the tables full of delicious food, kept the guest's glasses full, and collected empty glasses and plates so fast that there was never a table with a discarded plate or napkin on it. Chef Michael Wards and his team is the only caterer we will ever use! read more
