We had a great night. The food and the drinks were good, the atmosphere was cozy, the seats were comfy, and there was live music.

During a convention weekend (with the convention center RIGHT across the street) there's nothing better than finding a reliable Irish pub. Although the drink prices were a bit steep - the tacos are incredibly well priced as well as the rest of their menu, with solid self service seating, and incredible team to boot! There was a restaurant in Long Beach that I wanted to try for their beef wellington. Unfortunately, that restaurant closed down for renovations and rebranding, so instead we went to The Auld Dubliner, an Irish pub that had beef wellington on the menu. On Yelp, it just lists beef wellington as an item on the menu. Unfortunately, in person, the menu noted beef wellington was only available on weekends. I was not super hungry, so I got a pub burger with a side of vegetables, and my friend got the Shepherd's Pie. Reportedly, the shepherd's pie was very good, and the lamb was super juicy and delicious. I also enjoyed my pub burger. It was cooked to a medium as I requested. Came in on a random Thursday with my wife, we had an excellent time, the fish and chips were the best we've had in Long Beach for sure. The service was top tier, the bartender was friendly but not over chatty even the server was really attentive and made sure we were good, The ambiance is divey dark sexy, oh and the dj was chefs kiss! My friend told me to check this place out and I am glad I did! I was not that hungry so I just ordered some small items. I ordered the Fried Mac and Cheese, Corned Beef Taco, and Crispy Fish Taco. The service was good enough. I knew that there were other concerns that needed to be dealt with. All of the items ordered were delicious! I don't normally eat Mac and cheese, but this will help your appetite. The bar is a good place to meet friends for drinks and they have a good selection of Irish drinks! Fish and chips absolutely delicious! It was our first time . We went during St. Patty crawl and dancing to the bell boys with friends and strangers and had a blast !! The service was amazing for such a busy nice they were impressive . I feel like the servers were a little intense because they had to be because they had to get their orders and drinks through the crowd and it was hard to get through and so some people thought they were rude, but I've been in the service industry for years and did not consider it rude. Was really excited to visit. 3.5 stars The visual pub aesthetic was absolutely ruined by the reggae music that they were blasting. Had a great bar menu and the fish and chips was done well. Live music was acoustic pop, and we were really hoping for a more genuine pub feel. Had to scream to people across the table. Also the table was so unbelievably sticky from the varnish being damaged. This is a very cool Irish-ish pub with mostly good food and a very good selection of Irish beers and whiskeys. Kid friendly, too. Note: they have Kilkenny on tap, which is a cream ale that is almost impossible to find in the U.S. and A. It's delicious. Give it a try. I am here to spread the Gospel of Kilkenny. The decor is great. They probably have enough Guinness memorabilia to open a museum. Be aware that the "chips" here mean French fries. The "Irish American" nachos were French fries ("chips") with some melted cheese, bacon crumbles, green onions, and a little bit of sour cream. Frankly, the toppings were pretty skimpy. If they were more generous with the toppings, this would be a winner. The Pub burger comes with cheese and enough veggies on the patty to make you think you're eating healthy. It's a solid burger. And if you like blue cheese, the Cashel Blue Cheese burger is a winner. The menu is basically straight ahead American pub food with some Irish twists thrown in here and there. Personally, I wouldn't call tacos with corned beef traditionally Irish but if it tastes great, then I am all for it. Our service was good. Food was great. We got there 5:30pm on a Friday and it was a small crowd with self seating. Bartenders are attentive as you have to order everything at the bar and either keep the tab open or close out immediately after you order. Started with the Banger Wontons which was surprisingly crispy and had a nice beef feeling. The sauce was interesting but the bbq'y/ vinegery taste works with the flavor combo. I had the fish & chips which was super flaky and it melts in your mouth. My wife got the Irish smoked salmon. Would recommend if the bar scene is your vibes. read more

Great place to listen to Irish music! The bands are great! Fun to dance and just hang out. The outdoor patio is perfect on a summer night, overlooking the Hyatt hotel. Good beers and the friendly staff. The statue of Buddha in the front is unique! I would tell the story of why there is Buddha statue there, but it is an insider, local secret! This bar used to be one of my go-to places for a night out with friends, 20 years ago. I recently came here last month and I must say, it made me miss the good ol' days! read more

The crowd was small, but everyone seemed entertained by the questions and tried to answer them correctly. Not sure about the prize for winning because the game had already started when we walked in. While waiting for our food to be served, I answered one correctly. Question: In 2015, 35,000 people signed a petition requesting the administration to begin constructing which Star Wars figure? Answer: The Death Star. I chose this restaurant because I was craving some Fish and Chips. However, due to the Trivia Night, the atmosphere was loud. It was not the place for a quiet chitchat. The first table we picked out in the back was shaky, and a slight tap caused my full beer to spill over. Argh. What I ordered: FISH and CHIPS (Fresh Haddock, Hand Cut Chips, Coleslaw, Tartar Sauce, Mushy Peas* available on request) - The portion of the meal, especially the fish, was good. I loved the presentation of how the size of the fish protruded from the plate. The Hand Cut Chips were a banger, and I loved how they rested on top of the fish like a nest. I just discovered that the Mushy Peas was only available on request, so it was not on my plate. The meal was solid and delicious; However, the price had risen since I was last here. SNAKEBITE DRNK (One part Larger, One part Cider) - One of my favorite drinks at an Irish Bar. If Irish, the beer has to be Harp Lager. It's like drinking a Sweet and Sour beverage. Oof, this was an absolute disaster. I have been looking for a decent Irish pub in Los Angeles for decades with no luck. It's amazing I can find excellent Guinness stew in Albuquerque but nothing in L.A. C'mon! I saw the pics on Yelp! and thought their stew and shepherd's pie looked okay, and decided to give them a try on a Sunday early afternoon. Boy was this a mistake. I knew we were in trouble when we showed up and it was a tiny place not on a regular street but on the outside of a gigantic mall near the Long Beach Aquarium. It is nearly impossible to find parking. Maybe it's better on weekdays, but on the weekends, the entrances to the mall parking were all blocked off and street parking was impossible. Somehow we luckily found someone leaving. Otherwise the next structure was one hell of a walk away from the place, which would've only made the experience worse. The place itself looks like a standard Irish pub inside. Also, while I was there a huge group of musicians showed up, sat at a table, and jammed classic Irish folk songs. This was magical, and I was not sure if they were a band warming up who gets paid to play there or they were just like a group of friends who do this as a hobby. Either way the music was the only good thing I experienced here. There is no table service. You order at the bar, and then someone brings out your food to whatever table you sit at with your given food number placard. The tables and condiments were filthy. The metal holder for the condiments was so filthy it was all but super glued to the table. The table was also sticky all over. The missus got the fish and chips, which was meh in flavor but proved to be near deadly as far as food poisoning soon thereafter. Not good when you're about 45 minutes from your home. The Guinness stew tasted rank. All I could think was "Campbell's soup" when I tasted the grim, lifeless flavor. Then my mind was rather blown. For $24 you get exactly three tiny cubes of beef, three slices of carrot, and three slices of potato. It's like rationed out. The bowl is otherwise all sauce even though it's supposed to be a stew and not a soup. I went up and told the bartender, and he said that is all you get for that money. He was nice enough to refund my money, which I appreciate as it was not a meal. I should also be glad, I guess, as it wasn't enough food to make me sick, so I probably got off easy. Even the half and half's were not great. The first pour wasn't allowed to settle so I got a Harp with a huge head of Guinness. The second one I got instantly mixed together and they served it to me anyway. That's not a half and half. And, oddly, the flavor of the beer or smell of the glasses was not pleasant. Something is off - either not properly washed glasses or maybe dirty taps. I don't know. I do know I can cross this off my list and continue my hunt. Do not recommend. Will not be back. read more

The food was good, but over priced. The sandwich I had small. The service was not great. The first server who stopped at our table was rude and dismissive. Our actual server was aloof. Once he delivered our food he never came back to check to see how we were doing. Nor did we ever get napkins. We had to ask the bartender, who was very polite and helpful, for napkins. read more

Came here with my husband because they show the Arsenal matches. I was expecting your average dive bar and was pleasantly surprised to see that this pub was well maintained and had a decent menu. They have all the beer and whiskey your heart desires. For lunch, my husband and I opted to share the beef stew and dip sandwich with garlic parmesan tater tots. I had high hopes for the beef stew, but it was a little bland and all the meat was at the very bottom! The potatoes and carrots were also a little hard still. The bread served with this dish is....interesting. The dip sandwich was tasty though and I'd for sure order it again. The real star of the whole meal was the garlic parmesan tater tots. Perfectly crispy! If you're an Arsenal fan then this is the pub for you! But you have to get here early to get a spot in front of the big screen. And expect to pay for parking. read more

Stopped in yesterday unplanned but it was a pleasant lunch. A friend recommended sharing the Guinness here is served at the temperature it should be, same as in Ireland. The hubby enjoyed it. We started with a scotch egg, tasty! He ordered the fish & chips, it did not disappoint. I ordered the cornbread & cabbage, beef was tender and cream sauce was very good; it came with a 1/4 head of cabbage, large thick sliced carrots and 2 small red potatoes. The veggies were boiled but had no flavor, I should have asked for more cream sauce.....I asked for butter for my potatoes and still enjoyed my meal, just felt the veggies could have had more flavor (dip them in the juices of the corned beef?) I had an order of curry chips and a sam adams seasonal. Tbh the curry dipping sauce is almost like a salsa with curry flavor or something. It's just sweet mush. It's missing something to round it out, and I can't put my finger on it. There was a bleu cheese sauce accidentally? served with it and lord, just get that, and keep the fries/chips coming. It has the zing of blue cheese, with the consistency of ranch, and something else to it. Service was consistent, sweet, and the trivia host alone was wonderful working with an entire bar of nerds. Pike Outlets with its bright modern architecture and then you have this grungy-looking place lol love the contrast. Super chill vibes on a Sunday afternoon with super chill staff. Pleasantly surprised that the full day Irish breakfast can be neatly split into two plates.....and there's no split charge! Everything on it was pretty tasty especially the crispy Irish pudding and snappy sausage. The mushrooms were a tad too salty though, but they were much better when eating them on the toast. Loved the crunchy coating of the Scotch egg. Wished there was more truffle flavor on the goat cheese & truffle oil crisps and some of the crisps were a bit soggy. As for drinks, no skimping on the whiskey in the Irish coffee here lol. The Magner's Irish cider was alright; a little bland for a cider (not dinging the restaurant for this just more as a general FYI). Pretty good experience here overall. 4 stars for the food and I added a star for the service. I recommend this place if you're looking for a dine-in spot at Pike Outlets. read more

Came here after a full day of conferences. Had a great time and enjoyed an Irish espresso martini. I can't remember the name of the martinis but it was delicious. The service was attentive. The only issue we had was being charged extra drinks on our tab and they charged our card. I came to this spot on a Wednesday night while in the area for a conference. A coworker recommended it and we had a really good time! It wasn't too busy but they did have live music. The food is great here .. but I'm very disappointed of how they have changed stuff in the past year .. the bread for the grilled cheese has gone the cheaper route use to be a very nice sourdough now being a thin slice of white bread. Also another thing I went for happy hour yesterday and they told me no more happy hour menu now it's just $2 off appetizers ! I was literally shocked !!! I use to go for happy hour and the prices were like $7 for fish n chips and like $8 for calamari . Literally perfect portions and great price I don't know why they changed it I am so disappointed in the change .. this was one of my fav happy hour spots .. so sad they took happy hour away from us returning locals .. I think the owner needs to bring back better quality bread for the grilled cheese and the happy hour menu .. because $2 off isn't cutting it .. happy hour made me not so happy . Great Irish pub feel. In some ways it is ironic that right next door is california pizza kitchen and some other chains like islands. This pub is anything but corporate chain vibes. Service was great. Food was great as well. Ordered the fish and chips and the cider. Cider was great. Fish was not oily and in fact it was light and crisp. Some places result in a fish fry that is very oily.
