    Graduation Ceremony!
    Sarah B.

We came here for a Columbia graduation ceremony 2 years into COVID. For an in door gathering of hundreds of people during a pandemic, it was very well done. The space is very large with extremely high ceilings. We never felt like we were packed in. The downside of all that space for air to circulate is that the acoustics were pretty terrible. BUT they made up for it with a large video screen and closed captions!! Great move.

Terrific facility if you are a runner, or if you just enjoy watching track and field events. The indoor track is wonderful, as is the history here when you walk around to view the plaques on the walls, and glass encased running memorabilia. I had a chance to explore The Armory when I was here for the NYRR Washington Heights 5K this year. You can tell it's well maintained and taken care of. When we get past this pandemic and events start up again it will be worth it to sit in the bleacher seating to take in some running events.

OK, so I'm a proud papa! This is my daughter winning the 55m.

The Armory is, without exaggeration, one of the most important indoor tracks in the United States. It's no longer the BEST indoor track -- even in New York. Ocean Breeze takes that prize now. However, if you are a runner, this is THE place to be when you CRUSH it and set a PR (if not a WR). The history here is unreal -- tour the records in the stairwells, check out the Track & Field Hall of Fame, and gander at the trophy case on the main floor. Pretty much any track athlete you've ever heard of has a connection to this building. This is a place of champions. The Armory is also one of the few indoor tracks in the country with elevated turns. That makes the track really, really fast for a 200m oval. That only reinforces The Armory as a desirable venue for extraordinary athletes -- and reinforces its allure. Some people complain that youth practices are too crowded. So I would counter, how would you feel if you could watch your kid taking batting practice at Yankee Stadium regularly ... but it would be a WEE bit popular? I think the answer is, YES please! The Armory is to track what Yankee Stadium is to baseball. It's a cathedral for the sport. If you love running, you MUST visit. Soak it in, embrace that you are part of something larger -- something majestic -- and most importantly, run fast!!

Kids race! Milrose Games at the Armoey.

This was a great venue to watch the annual Milrose games. We had a blast at race level attending on V.I.P. tickets. We enjoyed front row seats and delicious food, immediately trackside. Our friends in the balcony didn't enjoy as great a view, but it wasn't too bad. It's an older space, of course, and can be hard to navigate at times, especially with athletes running, jumping, and stretching in every open space. So just wear sturdy shoes and be prepared to walk a bit. We bought our tickets online and it was hard to estimate which seats are ideal, as we'd never been to the space before.

    This is it.

My organization The Y of Washington Heights and Inwood invested in this facility to introduce our after school participants to track and field. This facility is magnificent, the staff is helpful, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. The participants of our programs receive individual instruction to enhance skill and form by the staff. The locker rooms and rest rooms are clean and brightly lit. The children love the time they spend here. There are many events for the community and families in the neighborhood. This was a great investment. Bring the kids.

I've visited the Armory several times to see my nephew run in his track meets. As a track & field venue, the Armory is wonderful. While there, one can see several events taking place at once, such as hurdles, longer runs, and pole vaulting. The seats are set up so one can usually get a very good view of the arena. Kudos to New Balance (the area is also known as the New Balance Track and Field Center) for investing in this space. The concession stands are generally pretty good in terms of food quality and selection, nothing super fancy though. The prices may be a bit on the more expensive side, but are way, way cheaper than in other sports venues (e.g. Madison Square Garden, Yankee Stadium and Citi Field). It costs $10 to get in, which isn't bad for NYC. Considering how well-maintained the space is, the money is well spent. Also, they are not cheap with the heat. In fact, the place felt like a sauna when I've been there. Considering that it was pretty cold outside, I wasn't complaining. The Armory is a short walk from the 168th St. & Broadway Subway station. Several bus lines also pass by the area, so it is convenient to public transportation. If you plan to drive, it is relatively easy to get to the Armory via the Henry Hudson Parkway. Street parking, however, is at a premium. If you are willing to pay, there is plenty of parking at the Columbia Presbyterian parking garages.

    Great graduation on the track!

For some reason I had to walk down 4 flights of stairs just to get to the men's restroom would give it zero stars if I could.

Our first order of business was visiting monument park right as gates opened at 5:30 since it closes before first pitch. Best access is entering in through Gate 8, and surprisingly there was no line for a Friday evening game! This is a must for any baseball fan and you can see all of the retired Yankee numbers along with a monument plaque for greats. We also had a good field and dining experience. Tried the angry lobster roll, grub and tub chicken bucket, and ice cream chicken bucket. The chicken was alright, nothing too amazing but it is a lot of fries and a good amount of tendies. Pretty decent value for $23 since it comes with a souvenir drink. Lobster roll was great! I really liked the seasoning, and it came with a side of chips too. The real highlight was the ice cream chicken bucket! The hype is real with this one! Each drumstick was made intricately with yummy cornflake coating and the chocolate pretzel bone is a great touch. Seating in the 212 section was pretty fun. The Yanks are doing great right now so the energy in the crowd was amazing. We went crazy during Ben Rice's homer! Only downside was some people got a bit too crazy and threw up right behind my wife's seat...not great but it is what it is I guess. We enjoyed walking around the stadium, talking to fans, and taking in all the different views while getting our food. The one thing I'd say is that while our experience was good, can't help but feel the stadium lacks a bit of character. The concourse is just okay compared to most other modern stadiums, and there aren't many things other than monument park and the Yankee museum that make the place stand out. The great hall is cool, but you don't really spend much time there. It's a good stadium, but I feel like there were some missed opportunities during construction that could have put it in the upper echelon of MLB ballparks.

I would have given Yankee Stadium four stars , based on ease of access from the subway, cute concession stand souvenirs ( the stadium cup and chicken finger bucket are being fashioned into an Easter basket for my nephew!) and cleanliness of restrooms. Also Aaron Judge hit home run within ten minutes of the game starting. Even though I am Yelp Elite Squad, Kyle's comments ( I hate Queens! Their collection includes 18,000 works, including works by Diego Velázquez, Francisco de Goya, El Greco, and Joaquín Sorolla. When I visited last weekend, the largest space of the museum was closed as they set it up for a new exhibit. Unfortunately, that meant only two small spaces were open to view. Luckily, one of the spaces I was able to see was the Sorollo Room. It displays 14 paintings painted by Joaquín Sorolla. Together, the paintings depict different provinces of Spain and total 227 feet in length. It's incredible and worth a trip to the museum on its own. It's free to visit the museum, so if you're in the area it's well worth stepping by. If you get lucky, you'll get to see more than I did (bad timing!), but even if you see nothing more than the Sorolla Room, it's worth it. I'll probably return one day to see more of their space and different exhibits!

They've qualified for the playoffs every year but one, highlighted by a first-place finish in the Eastern Conference standings in 2019. Generally, a fairly good showing for such a new club. The team primarily plays its games at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. When configured for MLS games, the stadium has a capacity of about 29,000-30,000. Like other MLS teams, average attendance has been good. Official attendance records show roughly 24,000 fans per game (80-82% capacity). Over the years, several various plans for a dedicated soccer stadium designed specifically for the team - from Manhattan to Elmont (Belmont Stakes) - have been proposed, but nothing has materialized yet. In the club's short history, Spanish striker David Villa has been, by far, the club's best and most popular player. He played for New York from 2015 to 2018 and holds the club records for most appearances (126) and goals (80). He was a forward on the Spanish national team that won the 2010 FIFA World Cup. And word is they may end up moving to Queens. Can you imagine. My fave borough and one of my least fave teams. I mean they're affiliated with Man City and play in the same colours. How disgusting. So considering I've been a fan of Red Bull NY since back when they were Metrostars... then it follows that I wouldn't love NYCFC, their rival. Of course I'm not a fan of NYCFC, who are the rich kids of the East Coast, think Galaxy but worse. They get a lot of good players piped in, and they do have a few good people behind them, but they're basically the Manchester City of North America. So not my favourite by any stretch of the imagination. Red Bull will always be the heart and the soul of the NY area football for me. These guys play at Yankee Stadium and they have been looking for a place in Queens to play, but for me the team of people from Queens is always going to be Red Bull even though they're over New Jersey. I'm so not a fan of the Manchester City Style kit or the ownership, and I'm hoping that they continue middling around and don't really go anywhere. But it's good to have a two-team New York area rivalry for sure. And it's definitely one of the classic legendary stadiums for baseball and as a baseball Arena it would get 5 stars and is second to none. As a soccer arena it gets three stars and just doesn't seem like a good home for this team or the sport, and it's no coincidence that they've been largely struggling in it. So the stadium that Ruth built is amazing and it's been renovated recently and it's just way too expensive - that's the main problem. If you live in this part of the Bronx you'd have to probably spend a week's wages just to come and see a game here. And a watery beer that is American of course, is going to cost you between 12 and $20. So forget it.
