As a parent, I felt really good about dropping off my kids here as I knew they were taken care of very well. The place is very clean and the curriculum is engaging. I can tell how much my children enjoy it as they do a great job of sending daily updates and photos which really help us get a good grasp of what they do all day. Also, my kids always left with a big smile on their faces. This only happens when the people who operate this place truly care about the children. I can say my experience was about as good as it gets and we absolutely plan on bringing the kids back very soon. I noticed there were some legacy negative reviews that were tied to the previous ownership - but speaking from experience I can say unequivocally that this daycare is absolutely pristine and the right place to send my kids to. We've had some good and not so good experiences with other options and Genesis is without doubt on top of the list as I feel confident they take great care of the kids and keep parents regularly updated with their daily communication. Highly recommended.

I wish so bad that I had good things to say about this program. Their mission statement is so good!…read moreBut in reality, they don't care about individual kids, don't appreciate the creativity of their employees, and their curriculum is only geared towards pre-schoolers and it's not set up for allowinging 1-3 graders to learn and flourish. As a result, it's really a disservice to even have it in out schools. it's definitely one program that should be cut due to budget. It does little good and costs way too much.

There's also a park outside and Sylvan Terrace, which is part of the whole experience. They have tons of activities there too, tours, art shows, music, they show movies sometimes outside. If you want to just go there to walk your dog you can that as well, just in some place where George Washington used to walk around and now you're dog is sniffing around it. It's always well kept, everything always feels calm and peaceful in there, a little oasis in the city.

What a lovely and historically fascinating place! I actually wrote about for Daily Kos years ago,…read morein a piece about haunted mansions. But this was my first visit! I had seen a show recently in which paranormal investigators heard the footsteps of someone who said that he was Aaron Burr. We did not see or hear any ghosts, alas. But the very nice guide did say that she and other people who worked in the mansion had all experienced the presence of ...something. The rooms are lovely, beautifully furnished with period pieces. The octagon room is stunning, and the details of the restorations by Traci Telasco are interesting. Oddly, there weren't any wardrobes/armoires, or closets, that I could see. Aaron Burr and William both had large beds, while Eliza Jumel had a lit de repos--quite narrow, with a swan tester. The kitchen was disappointing. Just a giant fireplace with an oven, a huge kettle and other old pots, and a candle mold on the mantel. There was also an old table and benches, presumably for the servants to have their meals. The butler's pantry was not on the tour, because it is now a restroom. I don't know exactly what we expected, but a kitchen from Pompeii was far more impressive. It seems difficult to understand how the elaborate meals of the era could be produced with just a fireplace and an oven, although apparently the long-handled pans were held over the fire. It was a fun trip to the Heights on the M5 bus. I would go back in the Spring to see the Glade. And Sylvan Terrace was lovely!

I was scouting around for a reasonable, productive and small(er) summer camp. After hours of calling around to other local camps that were too expensive and full to capacity with waitlists, I came across Legacy on google and submitted a Registration form. I received a call from Mr. Edison who was very informative, professional and welcoming. He was also very interested in knowing my son's interests, personality and hobbies. The prices are VERY affordable for all financial budgets, they accept several different forms of payment including cash. Legacy has a fun, busy and educational summer camp but also continues to expand with other programs within the camp. They utilize the summer months and every hour to its fullest; 3 days out of the week were field trips, super hot days were "wet days" (park hopping with sprinklers), chuck E Cheese trips (board games, musical chairs, tablets and summer homework) on rainy and the list goes on. My son loves this camp. Since then his cousin and sister began attending as well when they were of age and they all love it and the Staff (Especially Ms. CeCe). PS - They also offer a soccer program and now afterschool for selected charter school location in Harlem.
