Everything from the initial course description, to registration, to attending classes, to knowing what was done in each class from Nicole's weekly email updates--all explained clearly and accurately so that we knew exactly what to expect and could talk about the day with our son to discuss the things he learned with Nicole. I couldn't believe the amount of activities and creativity Nicole facilitated within the time she was with the kids. It was a dream to have a class that included painting, drawing, reading, writing, storytelling, making smoothies, and social-emotional learning. And Nicole does it so seamlessly, allowing the kids to be creative and enjoy the time with each other. It was play at its best! But what I loved the most was seeing everything my son created by the end of the course--which included a superhero cape, mask, tools, artwork, a self-portrait, book (that Nicole had hard bound!) and the beautiful photos of my son in his costume in front of a backdrop the kids had created. Nicole not only took the photos but printed them out for us to frame! My son looked like a real superhero and had the biggest smile on his face. Nicole is clearly a seasoned, skilled, and enthusiastic educator whose kindness and patience with children is rare. She really, truly understands kids and gives them the tools and encouragement young ones need to flourish with new challenges. In my opinion, the $20 is very reasonable (in this town) for my time alone, a snack, and best of all, my child having fun and creating something that makes her feel proud. We have hosted preschool classroom gatherings (on random days off), and Fran, the owner, has always been more than willing to book her space for us even at the last minute and without a deposit (a rarity). Fran is a kind hearted person who runs CC because it is clear she has a vested interest in teaching the arts to kids. The class doesn't simply introduce little ones to music, but incorporates many facets of learning development as well. My daughter was the youngest one in the class and even though she doesn't walk, still loved the class. I am signing her up for the summer session. With a colorful backdrop of student artwork on the walls; the performance Friday night with Arturo O'Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra featuring John Santos was stimulating, cheerful and inspiring. The concert was an excellent combo of big band, heritage, and technique. The standout piece for me was "Caravan", the band's tribute to Jazz Royalty (Duke Ellington). Arturo's energy ignited rhythmic hand clapping and shouts of approval from the audience. The abundance of talented soloists within the band certainly explains why the collective is so powerful. Let's support this art form; it deserves a special place in Jazz history!

I booked a late Father's Day gift for my husband took him to the up-cycle Game Boy class. We love playing games together so I booked it for each of us to get a game boy in the end. You are given the opportunity of picking which gameboy you are going to repair, and you do all the work. You take it apart clean it dry it put it in a I believe was a laser cutter, You customize it and set you up your speaker, screen and motherboard. You get the full experience. He really loved it and so did I, I am not experienced at all in welding or anything like that and the instructors were so helpful and knowledgeable. The way the walk you through it was really helpful to the point I was able to memorize the steps and retake apart the game boy to replace a piece that was oxidized. Don't worry the staff will help you if you're second guessing your ability to do this lol. The best part in the end is you keep it. ^_^ I highly recommend this 1 day class it was very helpful informative and fun. I will be coming back to try to make the survival knife next lol.
