I also would recommend you book the morning shift crew. My moving situation: I moved from the first floor to the third floor of an apartment in a different building. There were no elevators, only stairs. It was a one bedroom apartment. The booking: You can book online in advance. There is a 3 hour minimum. They state you have 3 days prior from move to cancel with no charge. They list out all of the driving fees, time window, truck capacity, and payment. It is all clearly stated in the "contract" when you sign. I called and they stated no charge for stairs. This is a pro for me because of the transparency. The move: I was supposed to move on a Saturday afternoon. I was notified their truck was going to be delayed due to traffic and they were going to be late. They sent a link to where you can track the location. I noticed based on their location, they were going to arrive in the evening. I called them and stated the moving window was now going to be late at night. It took about three calls back and forth to work out a solution. They offered to rectify the situation by moving my appointment to Sunday morning and offering me a discounted rate. Sunday morning comes, they arrive on time with 2 guys and a truck. They wrapped protected coverings on my 2 dressers, tv stand, table stand, put my queen size mattress in a big zip bag, boxed up my tv, boxed remaining clothes on hangers, and moved all of my boxes into the truck. Once at the destination, they laid out the red carpet (protective flooring). They used the dollies to move the items up the 3 flights of stairs. They were very careful not to damage the stairs and not make too much noise going up and down. They unpacked everything they packed for me, even hung up my clothes in the closet. Once everything was unloaded, they removed any trash and asked me to verify their truck was empty. The whole move was done in a little less than 3 hours. I went on their website and I liked how they have different options - how many hours and how many movers based on what you need. It also gives you suggestions based on how many rooms you have. I have a two-bedroom apartment so they we're able to put everything in their truck and unload in the right rooms at the house in five hours. I put labels on doors of the rooms, as well as the boxes and furniture, but they still wanted me to let them know where things go. They only take cash. I didn't know if they would need extra time so I wasn't sure how much to withdraw, but they charged me exactly what I was quoted. The guy was actually surprised when I gave him a 20% tip. I called their office and their customer service person said that the customer must specify floor protection and refused to offer any compensation. He half apologized saying he was sorry it happened, but based on their contract it's the customer's fault for not specifying floor protection to the movers. -They also damaged a light switch which I noticed after they left. The movers did not tell me about this. I told their customer service person about the light switch and never heard back. The Good: -They arrived on time, they worked hard and they have reasonable prices. The price was really good and that we were a little skeptical at first. The communication was great and quick, however, my only criticism is that there were not enough wardrobe boxes for our clothes. FYI, they will suggest having four movers but you can totally ask for fewer in order to save money. They only accept cash so be prepared and go to an ATM. They were very nice and professional did not break many important things and moved at a reasonable pace. I think they can, disassemble your furniture, but we did it on our own. This was the absolute worst moving experience I've ever had, and I'm warning everyone--DO NOT trust them with your belongings unless you're okay with them disappearing. After unpacking, I realized several expensive and irreplaceable items were missing, including my bookshelf, luxury handbags, work attire (blazers, pants, my doctor's coat), and more. I informed them that if nothing was done, I would leave a review and file a police report. Their response? "Sorry for your loss." They even had the audacity to suggest that maybe my roommates had stolen from me since I had been traveling. So not only are they completely negligent, but they also gaslight their customers and refuse to be held accountable. Their policy apparently allows them to lose or steal your belongings with zero repercussions. If you value your possessions, stay far, far away from this company. I'm now in the process of filing a police report and considering legal action. This company is dishonest, unprofessional, and a complete scam. Very Fast and Very Efficient. We were mostly packed up and had these guys move the heavy stuff from a second story apartment to a house 30 min away. They somehow finished within 1.5 hours (including the 30 min travel time and a pit stop at another house to pick up additional heavy things!) I was very impressed with their service. They were a no show for the move - would avoid this business! Doing this even once is terrible. --- We had a move reserved with the apartment mover weeks in advance of our move date. We had a window of time that we needed to have the move done, as we were moving our belongings into a pod shipping container and needed to get them in before the facility closed. This was relayed to them and they assured us that this was all fine. We had a generally good experience with them up until our move date - they were responsive to all our questions and were easy to get a hold of. This all changed on the day of our move. It is now 3 hours after the scheduled start time, and we have not been able to get a hold of our driver or the moving office. We have tried to call many times and it has proven to be impossible to get through to any person to talk to. This has been a horrible experience, and seems to be a more common occurrence based on some other reviews. We have no issue with the movers being late, we understand that things happen. But being this late with no communication is unacceptable. This is essentially a no show from our perspective and have had to book a last minute replacement for them. (Update: they truly were a no show and sent a text 5 hours after the scheduled time stating that they were having truck issues, but never really acknowledged that they kept us in the dark until that point. We used this company today. I thought they were great! I booked three men for four hours. They we're actually done loading the truck in 25 minutes! The whole job took about an hour and a half! They were very fast and efficient. I spoke mostly with Jose, a co- owner, but all the men were very friendly and accommodating. ***this is just for LA who you can book through their website. I hired 2 guys to move my one bedroom apartment on July 31st. They took 3 1/2 hours just to LOAD the truck. The stairs are steep, which I would say would make a 1 hour move 2 hours max. I had different movers move me into the place in 1 hour. They were constantly asking me if I wanted them to move furniture and boxes. Like yes??? You're moving everything to a storage unit. And then they still left some stuff but I was so over it at that point. They didn't wrap ANY furniture when they moved. They didn't even wrap my tv. The guys really seemed inexperienced, and had no sense of urgency. I have hired 6 movers from LA in the past 8 years, so I know what a good mover looks like. There was an extra guy there that seemed like the boss, who was not helping but finally mentioned that this was the movers only SECOND move after I had complained a few hours before that it was taking a very long time to load the truck. To which he said "well they need to drink water". So I had to pay an extra $150+ because these guys didn't know what they were doing. And take up my time. Not only that, but they packed my storage unit in a HORRIBLE way. I could not oversee what they were doing because I had to be downstairs to open the elevator with my code. I booked the Apartment Movers for a recent move. I was a bit stressed out initially because when I scheduled the move the move date was only 2 days out. Luckily, I was able to secure a short-notice time slot. On the day of the move, the movers, Alan and Manuel, arrived 45 mins early and did not waste any time to get started. They worked super efficiently yet were very careful not to damage any items. The move-in destination was only 1 mile down the street, so the entire move was done in about 2.5 hours. I had booked a time slot for 4h to be safe, but only paid for actual time worked (minimum 3h). I was very happy with how everything turned out especially given that it had been booked on pretty short notice. I would highly recommend these guys and would not hesitate at all to use them again for similar jobs in the future. read more

Update: I received a call back from a representative of the company regarding my poor experience. I was told I would get a discount of $400. I was asked to remove my negative review here as it affects all employees not just the one I dealt with. I told Giselle I would consider it because the other two guys were very helpful. I received a new invoice with the discount which I paid. The next day I received a text stating I needed to pay the $400 balance. When I asked what balance and mentioned I was given a discount by Giselle, that's why I was issued a new invoice I was told I owe $400. When I brought up the discount I was told to call the office. When I told them I would only deal with them in writing from now on they refused to reference the discount at all and threatened me with additional charges if I refused to pay their now 'overdue' balance. I suspect that I am being extorted because I didn't remove my honest review of my experience. Avoid this company. They are unscrupulous. I've used TAM at least 5 times prior to this experience. The first two times were great. The guys were super careful with my stuff and were efficient. I got the same guys the first two times. The third time, the guys were so so, slow, but not terrible. The last time I got a guy named Lezama who immediately seemed pissed with me for requesting a move late in the day. He was rather rough with my stuff and pissed because I told him I wanted to keep my stuff in the drawers. The type of person who makes you feel like you're walking on eggshells trying not to trigger them. I still gave them a tip because they worked hard and even though there were some dings nothing we severely damaged. So I thought I would give them another try. What a mistake that was. I decided to book the San Jose truck because I thought that was the one I got the first two times. Nope. I got same guy from the last time. Dude was aggressive from the first moment we met. He got pissed when I asked him to use my moving blankets instead of theirs. Once I told him I was putting everything in storage and didn't want the blankets removed at the destination he chilled a bit. Later in the move he asked me to pay with cash instead of a card because his last customer didn't pay in cash and he had to pay the other two guys. I'm not sure how that was my problem, but I told him I couldn't do it and he was again sullen. The final straw was when I asked him to turn a dresser around when they were moving the item to the storage. He went off on me saying that he was the expert. I had made exactly two requests of him at that point. He said that he was tired of customers being "delicate" and that I was annoying him. When I asked him why he was being so rude he said that I had "pissed him off". He then started cussing at me and told me he didn't have to finish my move. That he would just take my stuff back to my apartment and leave it. I've never worked with someone so unprofessional. Dude is clearly burnt out and needs to pick a new career. I called the office and they told me that they understand that moves are stressful. I was not stressed until dude started screaming at me. They said would calm him down and he will finish the move. After that he refused to talk directly to me and spoke only to his coworkers in Spanish. Although I can't speak it, I can understand Spanish. He told them not to hurry for the rest of the job and some other really rude comments about me. He also slammed my belongings around after that. I wanted to tip the other two guys because they really worked hard despite dude's asinine behavior but he sped off in the truck as soon as we finished. I will not be using them again. read more
