I have visited Buffalo Nickel a few times while visiting Midland for work and enjoyed my visit…read moreevery time. It has a nice easy-going, small-town Texas feel to it which is hard to describe unless you've lived in a town like this like I have. The inside is typically nice and chill; an ideal environment to grab a cocktail or two and conversate with a date, coworker, group of friends, whatever. Out of all the bars I have been to in Midland, I think Buffalo Nickel has the best selection of whiskey especially. I am not a huge whiskey aficionado but I have heard from ones that this is the place to go. I am more of a tequila and beer guy and they have everything I want. The unique thing about this bar is that the back patio is smoke-friendly. I am guilty of wanting some nicotine after some drinks so this is a great place for me. They also sell cigars if that is your thing. Cheers!

Wonderful rustic, easy going, relaxed bar to grab an amazing cocktail or two. First and foremost,…read moreit is not a cigar bar, it is a bar that sells cigars! They have a nice selection to grab a couple to smoke on the back patio or to take with you for later. Hubby really enjoy the Crazy Alice, said it was one of the best cigars he's ever had! We sat at the bar and our bartender was very sweet and attentive. Explained the cocktails a bit for us and gave suggestions. The Pumpkin Spiced White Russian caught my eye online so I went with that and hubby had an Old Fashioned. Drinks were spot on so when the bartender said they had a great Espresso Martini I said but of course! It was absolutely delicious!! We highly recommend Buffalo Nickel for a small gathering or date night cocktails.

When we…read moreentered they asked for a credit card and the bartender was aware that all drinks would be charged to that card. We were there until closing,...about 2 hours. We had a good time, danced and socialized with our group. The problem arose when I closed the tab and added a 20% gratuity. The staff was immediately insulted, because the $100+ tip wasn't cash. I was then told that they would be adding an additional 20% charge to the closed out tab as we were leaving. Reading the reviews,it seems like they are quite shady when it comes to the tabs. The staff should be fired, and if I were the owner, I would question how much cash is walking out the door with the employees. Stay away!
