Large 'Cheers' like bar, great chill out lighting.
Tony H.

This place took over another bar and the improvements are crazy. This place is completely different, except for the size of the bar. This place is owned by the same owner of the Alibi in Hillcrest on University, Joe. I think it's bigger than the one there and feels kinda similar with the red lighting at the bar and the colors overall. Staff is friendly and the place is clean. They've got some cool feat; hall barrel low tables around the pool table. a wall of barrels in the lounge area and a popcorn machine... For when you need to soak up some of your well deserved libations. Speaking of libations, they have some specialty drinks on the side of the bar. Kind of their own spin on classics. The prices aren't bad. They have 4 buck wells like the Alibi in Hillcrest and a decent happy hour. They've got a jukebox that actually has good music. BOOM.

Sober yes. 4 drinks in, no.

I went here last week after a OT day of work. The place is not to big but it has plenty of seating and one pool table. Tv is every where, a few are projected on to the walls (mabie a movie night?). Looks like there is 10 or so beers on tap. I got the large glass i think a 22oz it was 9 bucks. Anyways if your in Santee looking for a layed back spot to have few you wont go wrong comming here. If your in Santee, and its after 10pm, you better come here because the rest of this city seems to close by then! CHEERS

(This is literally the only place I've found that has carajillos on the menu.) Brussels sprouts are crisp but not greasy. I ordered a side of gyros and got a decent-sized portion. My hubby ordered a meat-free pizza for Lent, and was still happy with it. (They have gf and cauliflower crusts too, so !) We have both decided that this is the place for pizza in Santee. The weather is perfect in the spring for outdoor dining. There are shades for privacy since the restaurant's got grocery store traffic. The throwback rock music suits the establishment, and isn't too loud if you want a good convo. There are also lots of TVs both inside and out. Today's server, Lizzy, was so amazing! Super attentive, patient with questions, and quick to offer refills. And so relaxed and cheerful for a Friday afternoon! Thanks for a really nice dining experience, Lizzy!

The NFL Wildcard game was on all the TVs, so that was a plus. We started with drinks. A pint of Buenaveza was $7, which is relatively normal pricing. But 9 bucks for a pint of Ashland Seltzer is crazy. 2 Spicy Chicken Deluxe Sliders $16 Pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, house sauce and shoestring fries. They were decent, but not even remotely spicy. Chicken was cooked well with crunchy exterior and not dried out inside. Zero spice. If anything, the sauce on them was sweet. 2 Double Double Wagyu Beef Sliders $18 American cheese (subbed pepper jack), grilled onions, house sauce and shoestring fries. Inedible. Two overcooked hockey pucks in a bun. Two bites were all I could stomach. 18 bucks for burnt burgers. The fries were good and plentiful. I appreciated the pickle wedge. Service was sluggish at best. At one point we had to flag down a different server and ask to have ours return. We had been waiting, with empty drink glasses, to order our meals. She was friendly enough, just not very attentive. Nah, don't need to return.

It had been quite a while since we caught Sunday football at The Oaks Bar & Grill…read more We had friends visiting from out of town and we were meeting a large group of mutual friends. The Oaks proved to be the perfect venue. When we arrived, the group had commandeered several tables in the dining room. Becky and I bellied up the adjacent large horseshoe shaped bar. The TVs were all tuned to various NFL games. A group of Steelers fans were in the dining room next to our group watching and cheering their team on a giant TV. Becky and I wanted to watch the Seahawks. Mike, Director of the Carlton Oaks Country Club, was happy to put it on one of the many TVs for us. We wanted a snack, so we ordered the Potato Skins. Potato halves filled with cheese, bacon bits and chives. They are cut lengthwise in half for easier dipping and eating. Served with ranch and sour cream for dipping. Bottles of Tapatio, Tabasco and Cholula were provided if you wanted to spice it up. They were quite tasty and the perfect portion size. Price was right too! Because of the acoustics, the dining room can get a little loud. If you just want to chill and take in the view, step outside to the patio. Great views of the golf course. Service at the bar was friendly and on point. The large groups in the dining room were being well taken care of as well.

Sometimes servers can check in a little too often and interrupt conversation, but the staff here does a great job of being attentive without being intrusive. They are fast, intentional, and always friendly. Now for the food, it's delicious. Their specialty rolls never miss. The Sexy Roll will always be my favorite. The edamame and miso soup are also great appetizers to start with. The prices are a bit high, so we tend to come here more for special occasions or date nights, but the quality makes it worth it. Overall it's a great spot with consistent service and really good sushi.

Every visit I've gotten a roll, sashimi and/or a hand roll…read more This time I switched it up (on the recommendation of friends) and ordered the Spicy Shrimp Ramen $16. Excellent recommendation. Spicy garlic broth with thin wavy noodles and shrimp. The broth was rich and notably spicy. The shrimp were plump and very tasty. My only complaint was there were only three shrimp in the entire bowl. Outside of that it was a very generous portion and really good ramen. I added a side of steamed rice for a $3 upcharge. Didn't need it. I wasn't going to go without sushi, so I also ordered the Tuna Roll $8.00. Basic tuna and rice. Nothing special, no sauces or anything but cured the crave. We opened with the Creamy Lobster appetizer. It is pricey at $28.00 so it is a once in a while splurge. We used the excuse that it was Valentine's Day. LOL! Baby lobster lightly fried tempura style topped with special sauce. This is one of our favorite things on the menu. Perfectly fried and the sauce is divine! It requires 20 minutes cook time so plan accordingly. Becky chose her favorite and her go-to the Crunchy Roll $15.00 Shrimp tempura, krab, avocado, and cucumber, topped with tempura crumbs, spicy mayo, and eel sauce. She loves this roll and will never not get it. She added a side of Chicken Fried Rice $7.00. She likes to take a few bites then take the rest home for her lunches. She'll get a solid three or four meals out of it. Service at the bar was outstanding. Becky was given a small heart-shaped box of chocolates for Valentine's Day. We thought that was a nice touch.

You know, at least that way.I could make a decision if I wanted to pay for it or not. They don't say anything. They leave me with six salsas, and I was joking around in my mind, Thinking perhaps they can't count. I've been going there twice a week for years, and once a month or so I get Breakfast Burritos for the entire Office Staff. Recently, I tried another taco shop.Basically, cheating on my buddy, Ferny and that's my new spot now. They don't mind how many salsas I ask for and their food is delicious. As far as food goes, I give Ferny's Five Stars, as far as communication from the girl, behind the counter to the customer, its just not good, That's why they're getting one star on this review. I don't know if the owner's aware of all this, and Im just one small customer. I get it, but Im not going back.
