    water damage everywhere

DO NOT STAY HERE. EMAIL I SENT AFTER OUR STAY, AND I'VE HEARD NOTHING BACK FROM THEM - MAJOR WATER LEAKING/AC ISSUES, AND BLOOD ON OUR SHEETS. We recently stayed at The Address Connolly in Dublin, Ireland, and could not be more disappointed and appalled by the conditions in which we stayed, that were addressed in a less than satisfactory manner. The manager, Feargal, was horrible and did nothing at all to help us We checked in on July 22, and we stayed for 2 nights, checking out on July 24, 2024. We booked a family room/suite, as our travel party was myself and my husband, and our two children, ages 12 and 14. We were given 2 rooms that adjoined, which was fine with us as we had them close and we were all together. On the morning of July 23, I woke up to get ready for the day and went towards the bathroom to get in the shower. I slipped completely, on what, to my surprise and shock, was water all over our floor. The air conditioner had apparently been dripping significantly throughout the night, and the floor was flooded with water. Had I not quickly grabbed onto the small stand with the coffee maker on it, I would have completely fallen and possibly truly have hurt myself. We had a train booked to Howth that day, so we had plans to be gone for most of the day. I used the shower in the adjoining room, and we went and discussed this situation with the front desk. They assured us they would look into it and make sure it was fixed or we would be moved to another room, and they would help move our stuff in our absence. I asked for the manager and asked if we were to be reimbursed for this room for the night, as this was not even remotely acceptable. He looked directly at me and said it was most unlikely that anything would be done in terms of any compensation at all. When we returned from a full day trip to Howth, around 7:30pm, all we wanted to do was go to our rooms, shower, relax, and go to bed. We checked at the front desk, and they assured us that our room was repaired and all would be fine for the night - that we did not need to change rooms. While skeptical, we went to our rooms, to find that it was all dried and set back to right a bit. So, we turned on the AC, and set about getting ready to get into bed. Within 30 minutes, our AC/ceiling was leaking significantly - AGAIN. So, nothing was actually repaired - they simply dried up the leak, and kept us in a room that had a major leaking issue. We went to the front desk again - even though we were beat, and had already been told this issue was resolved - and again asked for the manager. It was a different one this time. He apologized, and offered us free breakfast the next morning, and a new room. So, now we had dealt with this issue in the morning, which was a hassle, in hopes we would NOT have to deal with is anymore. Instead, we were dealing with it again because a band aid was applied instead of a fix. However, with the new room, they told us we would NOT have a family suite. So - we would be in totally different rooms from our children, though we had booked and paid for the adjoining family rooms. We were very unhappy about this, and asked that he call his general manager, who was off for the evening. The GM basically told us we could take this free breakfast and a new, completely separate room, or stay in the room that had water dripping all over the floor, coffee stand, and ceiling. With no recourse, we took the new room, which at the very least was on the same floor as our children, so we were just down the hall on Floor 8. As soon as we walked into the new room, we were absolutely appalled. This room apparently had an even worse issue with the air conditioner, and there were water marks all around the ceiling unit AND the paint was peeling all around it as well. We turned on the AC, just in case it was old damage and the unit had been repaired, and in less than 10 minutes, water was dripping from the ceiling all around the AC unit. At this point, we had: 1. Addressed it first thing in the morning - told it would be resolved by time we got back from our day trip 2. Were given the SAME room when we returned from a full and tiring day's travel - and experienced the exact same issue 3. Gotten a new - and separate - room from our children - and walked into this room only to experience and even worse, but exact, same issue with water. By this time, we were both extremely frustrated as well as exhausted. Keith, my husband, went back yet again to the front desk and we went though it all again. Again, the GM was called - and again, they said the exact same thing - go to either our original (and damaged) room, take the new room, with an even bigger issue, OR - they could give us yet ANOTHER room, but this one would be even further from our children, on floor 9. We took that room with no other cho

I agree with the other reviews. Every part had good/bad. It has a parking lot, but it's not free, and our car was covered in bird poop. And that's how we started the trip. The room was tiny, but clean. Great bed. Unbelievably loud because the train tracks were about 20 feet away, along with the car park. The internet was not good. The location was nearby, but my boyfriend didn't even want me to walk to the corner by myself. Slightly sketchy feeling neighborhood. There is no elevator to get to the rooms. The fitness room was awesome. And the breakfast was really outstanding. Plus, they accommodate gluten free, etc. very well.

Stayed here when I went to watch the six nations at the aviva. It is directly opposite Connolly station so very easy to get to and handy to hop on the dart to go anywhere else. We had a superior room that had a balcony and access to the premier lounge on the same floor with tea/coffee/bottled water. Lovely room and pleasant staff. The bar was a nice and welcoming and room service was fantastic !

So the staff set us up with a couple of beers to relax with while they did finishing touches on our room. The beer was nice and cold and bar tender was very friendly. The room was spotless and housekeeping did a great job making sure we had everything we needed. The security at this hotel is tight which made it a safe place to stay. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the temple bar area and even the zoo. Make sure you get your discount for parking as it makes a huge difference in the cost to park a car. My only complaint is the beds here are extremely firm. I have a bad back so it tore me up. Despite the bed I will return due to the location and staff here.

This hotel is centrally located in the city centre, making it rather easy to visit sites around town and even more convenient to get here by bus from the airport. We were happy with the room as it was good enough for two people. It seemed rather new, so no complaints there. The breakfast was okay. I loved the coffee machine they had, but the sausage and eggs were not for me. I wish we had time to visit the bar next door (called Murray's I think), but we were too tired still adjusting to the time difference. Overall, a decent hotel to stay in the city centre of Dublin.

We arrived from an overnight flight at roughly 9:30 a.m. and they were still prepping rooms but they stored our luggage and recommended a location to grab something to eat which was very good. Upon returning about 45 minutes later our room was ready and we found the room to be meticulous with a very comfy king bed, mini fridge, tv, and ample size bathroom. I saw a few other reviews that stated the bathroom doors would not stay open but I learned that is by design and we just asked for an extra towel that we used to prop the door open when needed. It serves to point out that the entire hotel is under a complete remodel so many of the rooms and features of the hotel are shinny new. They do offer breakfast in the morning and for the evening they do have a restaurant and bar. Just walk out the front door if you want a livelier crowd and more restaurant options The location of the hotel is prime as it offers proximity the River Liffey, plenty of shops, pubs, and attractions. We walked to the Jameson (25 min walk) and Guinness (30 min walk) factories as it also gave us the ability to take in things along the walk. You are close to Trinity College and both St Patrick's and Christ Church Cathedrals. lastly, I cannot say enough about the staff, Anne at the front desk was a warm and inviting pleasure and very professional, Marvin the concierge and bellman was super helpful and pleasantly informative, the house staff was attentive and always looking to make sure we were comfortable. The Brooks comes with my highest recommendation.

To get the cheapest itinerary it made sense to have a layover in Dublin, even though it was truly never on our must-see list. We had no regrets! Although Dublin is cold/windy/was even hailing during our May 2016 stay here, it was worth a 1 night layover (and a great way to adjust with jetlag before the big trip began). As for the Maldron, it is imperative to take a Taxi if you are traveling with any more than 2-3 people, because it ends up being cheaper than taking the airport bus. I believe it was about 35 Euros for the cab ride each way, a smooth 35 minute ride. The hotel is a bit aged but had recently been gutted. It is clean, in a safe, quiet (Extremely quiet) neighborhood. If you enjoy walking, it is an easy 15-25 minute stroll to the main downtown area and restaurants. There is also a tram within 5 minutes of the hotel. We found that late at night it was difficult to get a bite to eat near the hotel and thus had to walk into the main strip/downtown area. The hotel staff are kind and quick to respond to any requests and issues. One note is that when going to the airport, if you want to save 2 Euros hail a cab yourself, because any time you have to call ahead of time for a cab the 2 Euros fee is charged!

This made it easy for us as we could continue exploring according to our plan (we took a 30 minute train ride over to Howth right after dropping our bags). Coming back to the hotel around 5pm, our room was ready and we were able to nap a bit before dinner. The superior room we booked was located in a renovated section of the hotel and had access to a shared outdoor patio right across from our hotel room. We didn't have time to use the patio but it was spacious and it seemed no one was using it whenever we passed by. Our hotel room was very clean, large (great for us as we had plenty of luggage) and we had two complementary water bottles in the room. We had breakfast the next morning and it was buffet style. There is a section if you want fresh made omelettes. Lots of variety I think but I stuck with the classic Irish breakfast items. So delicious and fresh! The rooms with a bathtub has a shower to boot a huge plus--I'm a bath person, my husband loves showers, so it was perfect for both of us. The only reason I didn't give this hotel four stars is because of a couple of inconveniences. Parking is a bit of a pain, as it's not on site and it gets costly $20 a day , but that's to be expected in Dublin.
