WARNING: Get a second opinion if treatment is recommend by Dr. Nobles. My first visit with him I was told I had a cavity which seemed out or ordinary considering I hadn't one for years. However, I proceeded with the filling which felt like he shaved 1/4 of my tooth away. A year later, I'm told I have another cavity and maybe a second one. This was now suspicious to me so I got two in office second opinions. Both dentists said they see absolutely nothing on the teeth noted by Dr Nobles, and my teeth and gums are healthy. Additionally, I provided them with my previous X-rays, before the filling, and they couldn't not see what caused him to think there was a cavity. I'm very disappointed and feel taken advantage of and violated. I just hope others are not blindly taking his diagnoses. read more

I've been a patient at this office since the start of 2020. While the managing dentist has changed in that time, the quality of service and care has been spectacular. They referred me to another dentist for a graft procedure I knew I'd needed but hadn't felt confidence in prior dentists to pursue the surgery. The staff at Addison Dental made me feel comfortable to engage with the referral dentist. After that procedure, I returned to the regular care of the wonderful professionals (specifically, Yo) at Addison Dental. They've improved my overall dental health with product recommendations and careful attention to detail in every visit. I'd also like to specifically shout out the amazing front desk staff. In general, they're wonderful and caring and sweet, but they've always gone the extra mile in my eyes whether it is to reach out about needing to reschedule something (once), confirm an appointment, or update me about a service I requested. Here's where they really blew me away--I requested a replacement retainer because a prior dentist in California made modifications that were failing and I was upset about it. They were confident a new retainer could be made and took reference photos and molds for the lab, because it's an unusual retainer. The lab made the wrong retainer three times and Crystal was quick to update me about her efforts to get me this elusive retainer. I was not charged a cent for the lab's mistakes or the office's extra molds or time spent taking them, nor for all of Crystal's time spent discussing the request with the lab, or talking with the California dentist office about the order to specify the retainer requested, or for her ability to not only obtain the requested retainer but she also went out of her way to ask for pink and glitter to be added to my retainer like my original had. At this point, they can probably rip all the teeth out of my head and I'll still be recommending them because how incredibly tenacious the people in this office have proven to be to do right by their patients. I found this dentist through my network and I was reluctant to go after I set my appointment last year. After my first visit, I was very happy. Dr. Ramirez is very very talented, kind, patient, and thorough. She cares about your situation and does her best to prevent you from having issues with your teeth. The dentist assistants all of them are nice as well. The office is cold and they'll give you a blanket if you are chilly. After my second visit I made up my mind that this will be my dentist because the staff are kind and I see the difference in the health of my teeth. I got one filling done at 7am and it took 4 novocaine shots for me not to feel the pain and the shots didnt wear off until 6pm that evening since I got a lot of it. Overall it was fine and my teeth are as healthy as ever! Gotta watch out though they'll try to sell you products just like any other dentist so make sure you actually need the product they are trying to sell you before you purchase it. read more

This is second time coming to this establishment. The service has been excellent; I found this place with a buddy of mine when we were driving by the Addison area prior and we thought we'd give it a try. From the moment you walk in, I was instantly greeted by two ladies (I'm sorry I forgot their names but there always there). They helped me in making an appointment with the doctor for an evaluation and they were both very professional. On my first visit Dr. Ramirez look at my mouth and after taking a few X-rays she took the time to explain everything that was going on inside and did so in a way that wouldn't make you feel embarrassed for coming to a dentist for professional help. She truly is a very kind, caring person. My second trip I had gotten a deep clean (I've never gotten one before). Yes, I was nervous because I wasn't sure what to expect. But, the process was harmless and in the end my teeth look even better. I received a take home package with a waterpik, some prescribed mouth wash, and prescribed toothpaste. I look forward to my next appointment. I would highly recommended this place. -- and this is coming from someone who's NEVER been to a dentist before. I hope this review helps someone out there. RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE: I used to love this place... then i found out how much of a scam it was. It's not even owned by a dentist, its owned by a man who owns several branches and teaches these hygenists and dentists how to sell. Still love Celeste and Dr. Williams, even though I found out they don't work there anymore.. go figure. Went to make my appointment and I was told that our family was past due... from 2011... yet we have been going there 2x a year since then. I was told by the front desk that it was sent to a collections agency. We were shocked when we heard this because we had never missed payments, and we had always paid when we left, if we even had to pay anything since insurance covers our cleanings. The collections agency told us there was nothing they could do and that i would have to call the dentist back. When i called i asked her to look into it because clearly someone at their office didn't file on time with the insurance, and they were trying to get us to pay for the cleaning. She told me she would look into it, and i never heard from her. When i called back she laughed at me and said she was still looking into it.. still no call back. so i called towards the end of the day. i was told she was busy, so i told her that showed me they did not value us as customers. eventually i got the answer, and just as i expected it was that someone didn't file correctly, and they were trying to get us to pay for it to make up for their error. I told her I would not be paying that and they could write it off... I explained to her that the board would be contacted, so she wrote it off quickly. If they tell you you have gengivitus or other issues, please get a second opinion. Apparently everyone in my family has dental disease, and they try to upsell you on products. How you get this dental disease is from they stabbing your gums until they bleed. I went to another dentist and they checked my teeth, and xrays and told me i had 0 issues!!! In fact i talked to someone who worked at one of these branches of dentistry, and she said she had to leave because they are coached to lie to patients and tell them they have issues, when they are never there. example: they tell you they need to put sealent on your teeth to "prevent" cavities..or they will tell you you need an onlay, root canal, cap.. whatever just so they can hit budget to go on their big trips they go on. But its just an upsell so they can charge you and your insurance company. Invisiline: they will tell you you need invisiline and how quickly it works.. my mom got it and they told her that her teeth would be fixed within 2 years... didn't work, so they told her she needed to get more trays.. go figure.. $$$$$. It is not as easy to pay for as they make it seem. They get you on the free first set of whitening and then it goes up up up from there. (obviously this is a luxury so if it's not something you are interested in ignore) I'm sure I'm forgetting some things. Very poor doctor. His repoir with patients non-existent. He discussed my lower corner teeth (canines? Not a dentist, no idea) removal after leaving them in and complained how it would've been easier if I had mentioned it before. I HAD SEEN HIM 6 MOS. PRIOR AND GAVE NO OPINION ON THE BOTTOM TEETH BEING LEFT. Then said to nurse "would that have made a good anchor?". An anchor was not the issue! Dr. Ramirez is AMAZING! So caring and so gentle. She is so in tune with her patients. I, for one, have an amazing fear of dentists. She restored my faith in what bedside manner is all about. She takes into great consideration of my anxiety and checks in with me making sure I am OK. She called and texted me to make sure I was OK and healing well and when I had an issue she took the time to meet me during her off hours to fix the problem. Who does that? as you enter the place it's very clean and new b/c it is...receptionist is helpful and very nice. water is out if empty or have special requests they'll providie it too. now for the visit...my first visit was for zoom whitening they had an add for $200 it's originally $500 ... I was told that my teeth was more naturally yellow than most and result might not be as good I went ahead and did it anyways it did improved about 3~4 shades but OMG the pain of sensitivity was unbareble!!! I will never do it again. the hygienist suggested getting some sensodyne tooth paste for sensitivity and I did that brushed like 4 times plus advil...it barely helped. I got custome made tray and plastic retainer and tube of whitening gel to go (but I've only used twice after Zoom!) b/c of the pain/sensitivity 2nd visit ... I was looking to get invisalign / braces - Dr. Michelle Williams asked what's important to me I said my budget is very low she said it's no problem at all but they do need to do a complete mouth check, Xrays, trays etc. first which will cost $400 I thought it'll be $400 plus maybe another $1600ish but I found out later the treatment is way over $15,000 I was in shocked and extremely angry that they've told me it'll be cheap according to my budget and then made me spent the $400 up front to do the works and told me it's going to cost nearly $20,000 ... that's a car or a piece of down payment for a house!!! my teeth are NOT that bad or have that many gaps. I'm giving this place a 2.5 mainly based on decor, friendliness but 0 points on TELLING THE TRUTH about saving you money!!! I will probably not visit this place again read more

THE WORST EXPERIENCE AND DENTIST IN ADDISON!! BEWARE OF THE NICE LOCATION AND HOW THE OFFICE LOOKS!. I went to see this Dentist yesterday after looking for someone close to the house and work, since I live in Addison Circle and this office was off of Beltline/MIdway I figured why not. A little background... I had a issue with a tooth that was in pretty bad shape, I found THE ADDISON DENTIST and went in and simply wanted an extraction. The staff seemed nice and had me completely fooled. The dentist seemed very mentally distracted and like her mind was a million miles away even though she was inches from me and was looking at me. I didn't think much of it until she worked on this tooth for about a hour, trying to get it removed and then became frustrated and said she could not remove it and I would need to go to a oral surgeon. The dentist quit working on me after she had dug, chipped, picked, squeezed a tooth that she wasn't capable of removing. I was told that they would see if she could find someone to remove the tooth "Hopefully" today or "Tomorrow". No since only half the tooth was removed and the roots were exposed seemed like a good idea to get the tooth "COMPLETELY" removed, as opposed of leaving half and the roots hanging out. I was told to go see a oral surgeon after she left me in the chair over 30 minutes wondering what the heck was going on. She told me that I would arrive at this oral surgeons office and they would be expecting me and I would be took care of upon arrival..Sad to say she sent me on my way with nothing to numb the tooth, she left me bleeding and the roots were exposed..I took pictures and have to have someone drive me there, I didn't realize I would start at one dentist and then be shoveled out the door with a bill that was 5 times higher than originally quoted. I was told that the $59 special would be covered by my insurance and would have nothing out of pocket. They tried to get my debit card out of my hand, Guess lucky I was bleeding so bad I couldn't reach in my pocket to get my card. I refuse to pay this dentist, I have called Blue Cross/Blue Shield and filed a formal letter with there fraud division and hopefully they will stop doing business with her. I am astounded by the amazing service I found here. The quality of care can not be beat, and I plan on being a customer for many years. My New Patient appointment had somehow been missed in their books, so when I showed up, they told me that they didn't have me in the system. As I was rescheduling my appointment, one of the hygienists, Brooke, said that she could take me back at least to do some xrays until her next appointment arrived. I gladly accepted, and she was able to do xrays, photos, and preliminary screenings. Then she said that the doctor was available to see me by that time! Then, by the time the doctor had spoken with me, the hygienist's next appointment had cancelled so she was also able to complete my cleaning! Everything worked out, and they were able to finish an entire new patient appointment into their busy schedules. They were so kind, and explained everything that they were doing, answered all of my questions, and even showed me the xrays and photos they took to better explain my dental health. I felt confident on what I needed to do better as well as what I was doing well, to continue improving my oral hygiene. I'm impressed with The Addison Dentist and their caring staff. When the original appointment had been missed, they could have let me leave the office disgruntled. The dentist, hygienists, and the front desk are all very friendly and take the time to know me and my household. I feel very comfortable when I go. I am also made to feel comfortable. I have been going for over 3 years.When I find a dentistry this caring, I tend to stay. The work is very good. I have been going to the Addison Dentist for almost a year now and have had nothing but a great experience. While not reading the reviews here prior to my first appointment, I can say that I disagree with almost all of the negative ones. The hygienist I have (who has been the same since I have been going, and I have had to go back about 4 times now) is amazing. She is very friendly and caring. I have very bad anxiety about going to the dentist, and she has worked with me every time. She always explains what she is doing what each tool she is using does. I would recommend her to anyone in a heart beat. The office area is very nice and well kept, and the front staff, while they have changed, are always very friendly and always willing to help. I only give 4 stars and not 5 because on my first visit, Dr. Williams only spent about 2 minutes with me, and seemed like she was in a hurry to just move on to the next patient. Since then, the Dr. has changed, however I have not had a chance to meet him yet. Again, I would recommend this dentist, but mostly for the hygienist I have. read more

This was the most abysmal experience I have had in recent memory. I began looking for local dentists and came across their website. Nice professional website, and a $59 special for x-rays, cleaning, evaluation. Since I hadn't been to dentist recently I thought this would be a great deal. I made my appointment and the receptionist emailed over the paper work. When I arrived, the office was nice enough, but I found it very disturbing that they had a large bulletin board with celebrities who had died of oral cancer. They were of course pushing everyone to get screened for this. I thought this was a scare tactic and very unprofessional. Little did I know what awaited me. They x-ray "tech" started doing my x-rays and asking me five million questions completely unrelated to the task at hand. The entire office was beyond bubbly, they were obviously taking drugs to make them so damned happy. Then the dental hygienist comes in, and asks me the same questions the x-ray tech did. Do these people not look at your chart or communicate? She then starts asking me if i"m an actor... I'm OBVIOUSLY not. So she says well do you paint? She told me I seemed "Artsy" 5 different times. Finally I said "no.. not artsy just a run of the mill fag.." These people were very bizarre in the way they acted. Now on to the actual "work" part. I had expressed interested in getting my teeth whitened which the dumb hygienist thought I was preparing for some date, an acting audition or some other kind of ludicrous unrelated adventure. They proceed to tell me my teeth were a 9-10 on the white scale. Well, my teeth are more of a 4-5. They aren't brown as they tried to tell me. On top of that, they said they found all kinds of cavities, and I have gum disease, etc, etc. They didn't clean my teeth, instead they wanted $1200 for a "deep" cleaning. On top of that they wanted another $3000 for fixing other issues. They said after that my mouth would be as good as new. They expected me to pay right then and spend the day with them.. Really? What planet are these people from? I can't spend a day at the dentist without some planning. They said the deep cleaning would help with bad breathe. Uhmm.. excuse me? I don't have bad breathe.. I even called someone who would really know for sure if I had bad breathe and he confirmed that NO, I do not have bad breathe. The exam by the actual dentist lasted about 3 minutes. She seemed very disconnected and in a hurry. This place is a TOTAL RIPOFF! They want you to think you have the teeth of George Washington and then they want to screw you. I would RUN away. I thought I'd found a great dentist, in-network, right around the corner from my office. What I'd found was a dentist office that has a revolving door for staff and must not speak the same language within the office. I went here for over a year and a half - proof that I really tried to give them plenty of opportunities to redeem themselves, but the negatives piled so high that eventually the few positives were barely worth it. I don't think I ever had the same hygenist (or even saw the same people working there from one visit to the next), but more often than not, they were nice hygenists that did a good job cleaning my teeth. I agreed to bite analysis services due to many years of discomfort, pain, and jaw popping due to my TMJ/clenching at night. Prior to seeing Dr. Williams, I had a mouth guard which I wore religiously but that didn't really address the soreness/stiffness in my jaw (even though it kept my teeth from being worn down from grinding/clenching). By the time I got done with Dr. Williams, I'd gone through 3 different mouth guards and very costly caps on my molars to "fix" the misalignment of my bite. First, none of it actually fixed anything, and second, despite being given a general overview of the process when we first embarked on the treatment, I was kept in the dark for the rest of the ride. No one explained anything to me unless I specifically asked. Being the patient without a degree in dentistry, I'm not sure why I need to ask if I should have been given a new mouth guard after my caps since (duh) the old one didn't fit anymore. I got a response of "oh, you don't have one? you should have gotten one" The lack of communication for every single visit was unbelievable and inexcusable. Not once, not twice, but 3 times I sat in the waiting room for over a half hour after my appointment time. Once, I was even scolded when they took me back to the chair because the hygenist apparently thought that I was the one who was late!!!! RUN RUN RUNNNNNN AWAY!!! I found this Dentist by driving by, and thought I'd give it a go...MY MISTAKE. For my initial first apt(cleaning, exam and x-rays), they were friendly and seemed very professional, but don't be fooled. First of all, everyone in the office is wearing Invisalign...that's fine and all, until they start pointing out on my teeth(I had braces for 4 years) that I should look into getting Invisalign. HUH? Go look at my picture, because my teeth are straight as can be. Second, I had a tooth hurting, because I had a cavity(I already knew), so while I was at my apt they said they could go ahead and fill my cavity before I left. Ok, sure. Before they started on my filling they send the receptionist in to go over paperwork with you. If you have more than one cavity they try to push you to pay for ALL of your cavity's up-front. Nah, I'm good. I will pay for them as I get them filled. Then they try to get you to buy "filling insurance." Do what? Oh...if your filling falls out, they cover it for $158. In 26 years, I have never had a filling fall out...BUT if it did in a reasonable time frame, I would assume the Dentist would fix it for you for FREE. Right? No. I have never heard of a Dentist pushing for filling insurance! The filling literally took all of 4 minutes...on a molar. That should have been my red flag right there. So I leave the office after my filling(I had to pay $80 out of pocket, because dental insurance only cover silver fillings). The next day my tooth is hurting me again? That's weird. So I went to ANOTHER dentist(doing my due diligence) to see what was going on with the tooth. That Dentist proceeded to tell me, "there is no filling there and never was." You can imagine my fury. I call The Addison Dentist as soon as I found that out and said this needs to be fixed ASAP, and that I am starting to get the feeling they are a scam. So I go in for them to look at my tooth, and to no surprise the doctor says "looks like your filling fell out, that's why we encourage filling insurance." You have got to be freaking kidding me. Oh, did I mention when I went in their attitude is completely different(rude, snubbed me, act like I am inconveniencing them by coming back in for them to fix THEIR mistake). He puts a filling in really quickly(didn't even clean the tooth) and walks out. I go to the receptionist desk and said "I'm not getting charged for this visit since it is YOUR mistake, right?" She said, no. A week later I get a bill in the mail for a $55 drop-in visit. OK, NO! I have HAD IT with this place. I go in the next morning as soon as they open, slam the bill on the desk and said, "Take this charge off my account NOW, you are all scam artists hoping to squeeze a buck out of everyone you can!." I left the bill there and walked out. 2 weeks later I get a bill from my insurance saying they sent that $55 charge to my insurance to pay, and my insurance paid it. Wow....Is my point proven yet? The only good reviews they have are probably from people that work in the office, because they can't POSSIBLY be from real customers. read more

Let me first say that going to the dentist has now become like trying to find a good mechanic. They tell you that you need all this work done and you have no idea if you do or not. I found this dentist when driving by one day. My first impression was pleasant- The staff is incredibly friendly and will make you feel at home nicely. I go in for my semi annual cleaning and was told I needed a deep cleaning. Never had one in my life. In addition to this, I needed to buy various rinses (economy half gallon size) and needed an antibiotics prescription. This procedure would take a number of visits which is not normally covered under most dental plans. (They have the Care credit apps right there to your left) Also, I would need to buy a sonic care tooth brush- I said where do you get those, and hygienist said, Oh we have them, shall I add one for you? Not kidding! As the visits started racking up a good bill I had to cancel a couple of appointments because I couldn't afford anymore charges. An associate called me and I told her this- The hygienist gets on and says well we just have one more cleaning to finish your deep cleaning. I came in for that and my total bill was around $2000. One thing that tipped me off was that I was told that I should go ahead and replace my fillings as they were going to be falling out soon. I told her that I had them in my mouth for about 40 years, so I thought they were probably in pretty good and if one did fall out, I would let her know. I am not trying to be mean, but I feel I was taken advantage of because of my lack of knowledge of dentistry and shame on you Addison Dentist for doing so! read more

I have been going here 3 years. I have never experienced any issues as noted by other reviewers. The poster referred to in a previous review has been taken down, but I do not understand why people are anti-cancer screening. No one gets upset when told it is a good idea to do other cancer screenings. I have seen steady improvement in my gingivitis and they gave me solutions for my breath as well. The hygienist I had, I had for 3 years and she was great, dr. Williams is professional and nice and always answered all my questions. The one cavity I had was very reasonably priced as well. I would recommend dr. Williams as without her I never would have solved my issues including a referral that will save my life (constricted airway). I typically support local businesses and give at least 3 stars even for bad experiences because I know that mistakes are usually honest ones. The Addison Dentist will not be receiving 3 stars from me. I'm giving two because of the nice, clean environment and good location. I went in to inquire about Invisalign and was told by the "dentist" that this was the best option for me without even examining my mouth!! With how expensive Invisalign is, I did not go through with it and decided to get a second opinion. I consulted with a more trustworthy dentist who explained that my situation should be examined by the orthodontist, and that Invisalign would not solve my problem. Addison Dentist seems to only be in the business of taking money out of your wallet. Months later I'm receiving a hefty bill for the 10 minute consultation that should have been fully covered by my insurance that I had at the time. I called to inquire and was told that they don't know and will look into it. I was fine with that until another month later I received the same bill with a sticky note on it saying, "We appreciate your business". I called the insurance company only to find out that the consultation was never even filed with them! I have never felt more comfortable at a Dentists office than with this office. I have moderate anxiety to dental visits - even cleanings! - and I have never felt better about such visit the minute I'm in the chair. First of all, Dr. Contrucci did a fabulous job cosmetically repairing my tooth. She also was excellent at describing other dental issues that I need resolved. The staff, Brooke, the Hygienist, Laurin, the Dental Assistant and Kim and Desiree in the business office are not only great at their jobs, they all have personalities that just make you feel good about being there. This Dentist is A Hustler...Stay Away I was looking for a local dentist and was referred to the Addison Dentist. I guess I should have checked out some of these reviews before my visit. I wanted a simple cleaning and to get back on track with getting my teeth cleaned. My first appointment lasted two hours and I still didn't get my teeth cleaned. X-rays took about an hour...I've gotten x-rays done before and they didn't last an hour. Then I was examined Dr. Anyaegbu who proceeded to tell me that I have 6 cavities and that my fills needed to be replaced with caps because the fill space was too large to replace with another fill. She also tried to convince me to get braces, even though I had already informed them that I had worn braces for four years. I was also told that I needed a special gum cleaning. At the end of my visit I was presented with paperwork and over a $1,000 in dental work. I was also advised to use my Care Credit Card to help pay for the expenses. I've never had to have major dental work or had to use my Care Credit Card to help pay for a dentist visit. Something didn't seem right. So glad I left and found another dentist. I had my x-rays sent to my new dentist. My new dentist advised me that I did not have any cavities. She looked at my x-rays and examined my teeth. She said I'm not sure why that dentist told you that. I had sealants put on my teeth when I was younger to protect my teeth from cavities. I had forgotten all about those, but my new dentist informed me that my sealants are still in place. She also advised me that I didn't need the other work done, such as caps to replace my fills or the gum cleaning program. I have been going here for about a year. The staff and Dr. Ramirez are very caring and talented dental professionals. Compared to previous Dentists I have used in the past, Dr. Ramirez is so much more gentle and avoids letting you get uncomfortable when doing any procedures. Because of this, I don't mind going for my check ups or having any work done. For me to say this is saying lot since in the past I hated dental visits. read more

Pretty good dentist office, convenient location, very nice and clean office. Please be sure to remind them at your next visit if anything changes in your life like dental insurance, address changes, or job changes. Unfortunately they do not ask the patients this question in their welcoming protocol so you must be proactive or you will get stuck with a bill!.....if they mail it to your correct address! The staff is very nice however I must agree with a previous post, every time I visit the office there are new employees. Can't say its a revolving door, but I will say good luck to the current staff! I went to Floss, because I met the owner and did not have a good experience with the Dentist. Went back 4x for a filling. My experience at the Addison Dentist has always been a pleasant one no matter what the circumstances...deep cleanings, root canal or routine check up Dr. Williams and her staff have always been kind, gentle (which is very important when visiting a dentist) and their number one concern is the comfort and caring of me the patient. The office is decorated in very soothing colors, classy and exceptionally clean. I have referred many friends, family and coworkers to the Addison Dentist. In several cases they had bad experiences from dentist and had put off proper care. In each case they thanked me and agreed that Dr. Williams and her staff took care of them and they have become permanent patients. I have been going to The Addison Dentist for a little over a year now. Every time I have visited, the waiting area, as well as the exam rooms, have been perfectly tidy and clean. The entire staff is very welcoming and efficient. There is even refreshments in the waiting room! Once in the dentist's chair, I feel completely comfortable and that I am in good hands. The dental hygienists are very friendly, competent and care about your comfort; which I haven't experienced anywhere else. When Dr. Williams does her exam, she is very personable and honest. The examinations are done very thoroughly and efficiently; I felt like it didn't take forever, but I was also in no way rushed or overlooked. Also, I really like that they don't push a lot of products on me. During one of my visits, I had to have 8 (yes, 8!) cavities filled. I was slightly nervous, but once I sat back in the chair, Dr. Williams and her nice hygienist were very quick to communicate with me what was going to happen and what I would be feeling. This communication was delivered with care and I felt very in-the-know; rather than another person just laying there while doctor and assistant ignore that I'm there and chit-chat to themselves while they drill away. I have had about 4 dentists in my life. Dr. Michelle Williams and her staff blow everyone else out of the water! They provide an environment that is clean and welcoming. I've been going here for over 3 years, and I have never had any problems. The front office staff has changed, but I've had the same hygienist, and everyone has always been professional. I have never been pushed or talked into services that I did not need or want. If there was ever an issue with the billing (usually insurance related), it was taken care of with a phone call. I visited The Addison Dentist for the first time in February. After my cleaning, I was advised that I had three cavities that needed to be filled and that I needed a crown on my #30 molar, since the tooth was cracked and irreparable by any other means. I returned a couple of weeks later for the crown appointment and it was a complete disaster. I was left alone in the chair mid-procedure for more than ten minutes without an explanation as to why. After I flagged someone down, I was informed that a tool broke and I wasn't fully numb, so they were replacing the tool and letting the anesthetic work a little longer. That's fine, but don't just saunter off mid-procedure without letting your patient know what is going on. After the drilling was done, the hygienist took the impression and shaped/placed the temporary crown by herself. The doctor did not return to check the shape or the fit of the temporary. That night, I was in a significant amount of pain and could not chew on the right side of my mouth, so I called back the next day to ask if this was normal. I was advised by the hygienist that it was "probably just the nature of the tooth and the nerve just needs to calm down." The pain did not go away, so I returned a couple of days later to have it checked out. As it turns out, the temporary crown did not cover the entire tooth and part of it was exposed. Instead of taking off the temporary crown and replacing it with a new one, they elected to patch it with some sort of composite. This did not help much at all - the tooth remained extremely sensitive and painful. A few weeks later, I returned to have the permanent crown placed. It didn't fit. The dentist drilled some more on the tooth (after doing a nerve block on the right side of my face because I was in so much pain) and left a different hygienist to take the impression and place another temporary crown. Once again, the dentist did not return to check the fit. This temporary crown fit a tiny bit better and covered more of the tooth, allowing me to chew on the right side of my mouth again. I was more angry than relieved about this, since now I knew the first temporary could have been replaced much earlier and I wouldn't have had to endure three weeks of hell. I returned about a month later and unsurprisingly, the second permanent crown didn't fit. The dentist said she would have to drill more and take a third impression, but I was absolutely done at this point. I asked them to just put another temporary on and left the office. I contacted them to request a full refund so I could pay another dentist's office to complete the procedure correctly. Initially, they only sent me a partial refund, but eventually refunded the rest after some back and forth. The entire time I was waiting for my refund, I was also fighting with my insurance company to get the crown taken off my claim history, since they'd submitted it for payment before the service was even completed. When I visited the new dentist, he removed the temporary crown to find that there was a hole in it. For a few weeks, tiny food particles had been seeping in through the hole and were impacted at the gumline, breeding bacteria under the temporary crown. The new dentist told me even with my regular brushing and listerine rinses, there was no way I could have prevented the infection, given the gaping hole in the temporary crown. The gum was a puffy, bloody, and infected mess. Luckily, the new dentist was able to salvage it and placed the permanent crown today without incident. He also informed me that I don't have a single cavity. I'm glad I sought treatment from another provider and didn't give this place another dime, because now it seems that they were attempting to commit fraud and get me to agree to procedures I didn't even need. Avoid this place. I am working on submitting a complaint to my insurance company as well as the dental board about this office. read more

I wouldn't give this dentist, or her practice "The Addison Dentist", one star if it wasn't required to start the review. RUN AWAY from this place!! This is long but please read it to save yourself grief...and money! I saw all the bad reviews AFTER I had already been to this place so hopefully, that won't happen to you. I went to Dr. Contrucci/The Addison Dentist because the location was convenient. I have always had very healthy teeth. Well, according to this place, I had two cavities, a filling that needed to be replaced and gum disease. Within moments of this announcement, the receptionist stuck a piece of paper in my face showing I owed in excess of $700.00 and only $124.00 would be covered by insurance. Then she showed me payment options and asked how I would like to pay. I paid the full amount because it was my understanding that was the amount due that day and I couldn't have any work done without it. So, the first step was an under the gum cleaning that was so painful and left me looking like a cast member of "The Walking Dead". I literally could not believe what I saw in the mirror when I got in my car. Every tooth in my head was coated in dried blood. They didn't even clean me up before I left there!! In addition, I had 2 follow up appointments already scheduled with them to do the rest of the work they said needed to be done. However, I was in so much pain and so upset about the supposed condition of my teeth, I didn't realize that the only receipt I got was the one for my signature on my debit card. Once the shock wore off, I called and asked for a detailed receipt. I was told it would be email'd to me. Never showed up. So I went in person and asked for the receipt. I then got 3 pages of print out's and realized they had charged me IN ADVANCE for three appointments. Plus a water pick I didn't ask for and an extended warranty on my soon-to-be fillings. Who has ever heard of that?? I demanded a refund for the two remaining appointments and then scheduled a second opinion with my dentist of 25 years. I only changed because I moved and my previous dentist was so far from my home. I will never make that mistake again. Well, I went to my dentist of 25 years yesterday. I don't have ANY cavities and no fillings that need to be replaced. I was relieved but so angry!!! And if you read the reviews, I am not nearly the only person this place has done this to. Stay away!! I am filing a complaint in writing with my insurance company today. Find a reputable dentist who will give you the care you need and please make sure to read the reviews before you go.
