Cleaning - I had an appointment for a cleaning, confirmed with an email from Mint. I arrived on time, they then took X-Rays and had someone sit down with me and look at my teeth both on the screen and in my mouth. They then told me i would have to wait over an hour to get seen for a cleaning since they had no one available to do the cleaning at that time. When i said i had an appointment for cleaning they still would not honor the cleaning and told me i could reschedule for another time when they have staff available. The whole reason for the appointment was for a cleaning yet they confirmed but could not honor? They did not call me beforehand? They did not tell me before they did the X-rays and evaluation that cost me $149.00. Seems like a scam deal. I want my money back. Filing a complaint next. read more

I can honestly say this was an excellent experience. I was greeted by Kasha she's the (RDA) and she did my extras. Kasha also introduced Teanna a (Intern) shadowing her today. From there I was taking to my examining room where my additional x-rays were taken. I was then met by Dr. Tran who had a GREAT bedside manner and his expertise with dental care was PHENOMENAL. After Dr. Tran broke down what I'd be needing done to restore my bite, and bone density health Jake walked in. Jakes the (Office Manager) not Jake from State Farm guys lol. He was just as hospitable as everyone else. Lastly was this very vibrant gentleman that came In introduced himself as well to me also. His name was Isai the (Hygienist). Isai's disposition was Amazing. He was bubbly, polite, made sure I was comfortable throughout my entire hygienic exam and cleaning. I also wanna include Marisol (Front Desk Assistant) even though I have only spoke with her over the phone once she is also very friendly. I am not an easy patient. Before discovering Mint a few years ago, I bounced around different dental offices. But I'm sticking with Mint because the multiple locations I've visited (because of moving) are very accommodating to my needs. As I've gotten older, I've become a bit sensitive and worrisome about procedures in my mouth. I always feel like I have to swallow and this makes for a rather high-maintenance visit. This office has always been very understanding and accommodating to my specific issues. This most recent visit when I got a filling and fitted for a mouth guard, both Dr. Park and Dakota were very patient and gentle with my treatment. I'm really grateful for Mint because I feel like I definitely get a more understanding environment than other dental offices, and for that- I'm very appreciative. It's also great that they let you choose music to listen to and it seems simple but being able to have something to focus on is a big help. Thanks Mint for all you do! read more

I got a root canal done at this location and experienced pain and uncomfortability ever since I expressed this several times after this appointment only for them to dismiss it and say everything was fine. Eventually, I went to a different dentist to get a second opinion because the pain never went away And they are trying to charge me again because I have an infection in the same tooth that has possibly been there for since I got it done not to mention the facility is filthy which is another reason I was happy to go to another dentist. I had my first visit at this mint dentistry location last week. I had visited the Carrollton location. I like this location over the Carrollton location. I've had long wait time at the Carrollton location. After arriving at this location, I was taken back pretty quickly. Everyone was very helpful. I got to watch tv and turned on the seat massager. The dentist was really nice, they were very informative, and I left with a nice goody bag. The goody bag included teeth whitening gel, teeth whitening toothpaste, toothbrush, and lipstick. I don't even know where to start with this review. I have had a lot of experience with different dentists across the country as I've moved. I have had probably 10 other fillings done at other locations. I have never had an experience like this. This was the worst dental experience that I have ever had. At my first visit, I got a text that they were running "in excess of 30 minutes late." Okay, whatever. The office manager was nice enough to give me a $30 credit towards my dental work because they saw me an hour late. I was super impressed by all the bells and whistles (Beats headphones, massage dental chairs, free teeth whitener, etc.) and pleased by the $30 credit, so I didn't think twice about going back to get the multiple fillings that I needed. However, what immediately stood out to me was that the dental assistant stood over me and dictated what I should write in a five star google review, and told me to specifically mention her name so that she would "get credit for it," and said she'd give me more free teeth whitener if I did it. It was literally a bribe. However, like I said, I was impressed and wanted that free teeth whitener, so I just did it and was on my way. The first appointment for fillings went okay. After that appointment, I needed 6 more fillings. They told me that I could get them all done in one additional visit if I showed up early enough. So, I took off work to get there at 2:30. I paid the $200 up front for all 6 fillings. After I paid $200 for all 6 fillings, the dentist numbed half my face and told me that she would only be doing 2 today because they'd take too long and I wouldn't be done until 5 even with just 2. I had paid for all 6 upfront and left work early. The right side had 4 cavities and would have made much more sense to do since I came in for an early appointment, but she had already numbed the left side. I spoke to the office manager and they offered to refund me for the 4 that I had paid for but that they wouldn't be repairing that day, but since they told me I needed to come in ASAP, I just scheduled an appointment for later that week and considered myself "paid in advance." By the way, they started work on me at 3:30 that day and were done by 4:00. I have no idea what she was talking about when she said that only 2 cavities would take her multiple hours. The assistant had pulled so hard on my tongue with her tools that she had left a sore afterwards. I went back for the last 4 and it was the worst dental experience I have ever had. I shouldn't have gone back after the last appointment, but they had all my records and I had already paid. I want to reiterate that I am NOT picky- I have had a lot of dental work done by many different dentists in the past and I have NEVER complained a single time. The assistant kept sticking her tools so far back into my mouth that I would gag, dropped a tool on my face, sucked my upper lip into their suction tool, and again pulled on my tongue so hard that she left a sore. They had the chair completely flat and I kept choking on the water. The dentist chastised me for not breathing through my nose but I was- they had me tilted so far back that it felt like I was being water boarded. I could not breathe. At one point I was breathing through my nose and the water went through the back of my throat and up into my nose. After that, and after them chastising next multiple times, I asked them to correct the chair. After I was put at the slightest angle, I was no longer choking on water and was able to breathe again. The assistant kept leaning on my face and pinching my lip between the tools and my teeth. That combined with the yanking on my tongue was incredibly painful. The dentist kept telling me to stop moving, and I told them I was in pain, and she said it was necessary in order to get to my cavities in the back. I have had cavities at the very back in the past and I have NEVER had this painful of an appointment. It wasn't even the cavities and drilling that hurt. It was their treatment of the rest of my mouth. The dentist made a condescending comment to me- she said, "And YOU wanted this all done on Monday!" She and the assistant laughed. I didn't necessarily want it all done on Monday. They had scheduled for it all to be done on Monday, I had paid for it all to be done on Monday, and then they numbed half my face and told me that I had to come back in. I woke up this morning and immediately noticed something was wrong. I think that either a nerve or a root is exposed where the dentist drilled yesterday. I called another local dentist and they told me that they have a lot of patients come from this location and while some of their work is okay, a lot of it is improperly done and needs repairs. Now I will have to pay at least $250 out of pocket to get X-rays done at this other dentist office to see if the work they did is even sufficient. God knows how much the work to fix whatever they did to my mouth will cost. read more

This is the Chick-fil-A of dental. I have never enjoyed going to the dentist. My anxiety sky rockets, and I panic the entire time I'm in the chair. Not here at MINT! The minute you walk in your are greeted with a smile and they ask how they can make you smile. You will feel like you are relaxing at the spa minus the facial. I told Destiny that I am beyond terrified of the dentist and she put me right at ease. She numbed my gums and went to cleaning. Thirty minutes later she said "You're all done!", I said excuse me that's impossible I didn't feel a thing. She smiled again and gave me a goody bag ( charcoal toothpaste, teeth whiting tray, and a toothbrush). I iniatlly started going to Mint in Houston and was able to make a seamless transition to this office. I've been coming here for over a year now and have never had any issues getting into see the dentist when i needed to for either a cleaning or when i was having an issue and needed a root canal. The front desk is so awesome and does a great job working with the insurance to save you as much money as possible which is one of my favorite parts. For reference I have PPO Dental; the free whitening kit is a DIY take home kit. Not a professional whitening session. The design is a nice standard dentistry layout, only unique factor is vibrating "massage" chairs, that's right they do not actually massage, they just vibrate. Other than that it is a standard dentistry office, with OUTRAGES prices. Just an oral evaluation (consultation) and X-rays will cost $500. Right/Left Half of teeth deep cleaning (so only half of your mouth) will cost $352. Therefore, all teeth deep cleaning (not reg surface cleaning that is extra $140) comes out to $704. Again plus standard surface cleaning, is +$140 so total really is about $844, for a complete full teeth cleaning. A crown, JUST the crown will cost you $1,542. A filling for ONE tooth will run $405/tooth. I mean this place is a reg dentist office with premo pricing. This place will max out your annual allowance and you will still pay a couple thousand more out of pocket to complete your treatment plan. I've never been to such an expensive dentist. Honest recommendation, go elsewhere with your insurance, it will get you farther into your necessary treatment plan. read more

I went to Mint in June 2018. At the time it had been two years or so since my last cleaning. I left with my teeth not feeling all that clean, you know that deep clean you should feel when you leave the dentist office. So I was a bit disappointed. Additionally, I was given some follow up items that needed to be done. I was told I needed a root canal and an additionally filling. The price was going to be $400-ish. Okay, that's annoying but it is what it is. Well I called back to schedule my appointment and suddenly there were five things and a bill of $800-ish. When I questioned this, it was back tracking and changes in the story. I just didn't get a good feeling so I opted to have a second opinion. Not only did the new dentist provide a much better cleaning. He told me that I had a lot of tatar on my teeth... more than should have been there after a month and half since I supposedly received a cleaning at Mint. Also, I have one cavity and no root canal needed... and it will be much less expensive than either of the quotes received from Mint. Keep in mind I have insurance so the prices are set, Mint obviously picks the more expensive services to help margins. Finally, buyer beware of the positive reviews that don't provide much details as to why the customer is happy. Mint has a policy, you get one free whitening but if you write a review, they'll give you another free whitening gel. The hygienist sat and watched me write the review which was awkward so I'm sure no one is over truthful if negative about anything. Mint has done a fantastic job in marketing themselves but when I'm going to a dentist I do want to ensure quality work. Your teeth are important. I'm definitely won't return. read more

While they make your first visit unforgettable, I have had several experiences since then that have made me switch dentists. When I called to reschedule my second appointment, I was told I couldn't do so without first providing my updated insurance - which from every previous medical provider I have been to, I was able to just bring it in the day of my appointment. I did not have this information handy when I called them to reschedule so when I got home and had the information necessary, I went online to schedule my appointment - which is where the second issue arose. "ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS ONLY" was splattered all over every location's booking site within 10 miles from where I was willing to drive and their online system prevented me from just scheduling a follow up cleaning and only had options for new patients. None the less, it sounds like this dental chain really wants to cater to new clientele only, since their exams and cleanings put more money in their pockets rather than just a follow up cleaning from a returning patient. read more

I've now had two separate experiences (one in January and one in July) where my appointments had to be rescheduled due to "short staffing"... And on both occasions I was given notice of this just hours before the appointments, even though they had been scheduled months in advance. The method for teeth cleanings / X-rays also felt really unorganized at both of my visits. Tools and equipment weren't prepared in advance, the hygienists had to run back and forth a lot... Just overall haphazard experiences. I mostly started going here because it's close to my apartment, and I had previously been traveling an hour for dentist appointments to the place I'd gone to since I was a kid. The ladies at the front desk are super nice, and the location is great... Unfortunately these things aren't enough to make me want to return. I made an appointment online via their website. I was shocked at how quickly I was able to get an appointment. Usually you have to wait a week or more (which gives me time to chicken out and cancel). The online scheduling process was quick and easy. The electronic paperwork submission was quick and easy as well, and when you go in you sign an electronic pad and you are done! I was greeted immediately when I walked in by a smiling and friendly staff. I only had to wait a few minutes. The waiting room is clean and trendy. The music was even good, not elevator stuff. LOL I was surprised at how quickly I was called back. Xrays were quick and painless but very thorough and I could see them all as they were being done. The pictures of the actual teeth surfaces were eye opening. I have severe dental anxiety from a bad wisdom tooth extraction in my teens. I was near tears I was so anxious but the staff was so gently and kind and reassuring I calmed down quickly. After the x-rays while waiting for Dr. Stapleton (very handsome and charismatic) I got to watch Gilmore Girls on Netflix while enjoying the lovely HEATED MASSAGE CHAIR. Yes, ladies and gentleman, teeth cleaning and a massage! How can you be mad at that? PLUS a cute doctor??? Come on! The cleaning process they use is quick and painless. I need a lot of restorative work from older work that hasn't held up. They gave me an overview and a treatment plan and explained their payment options which seem super easy. The best part was there was ZERO pressure to hand over my wallet to get the work done. They told me what I needed and left it up to me to do it on my own schedule and by my own budget. Just walked out of an appointment. My dentist of 20 + yrs retired last year and I needed a new one so I went here because my husband is a patient. I require pre-treatment with amoxicillin because of a surgery I had 15 yrs ago and they wanted a medical release from my doctor to get a regular clearning. That makes no sense! On top of that, they wanted to still get xrays and a consultation so they could bill me for half of the appointment. Essentially, my insurance would then force me to go back to them again at a later date claiming I already had the appointment. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had at a Dentist office. I was looking for a dentist that was much closer to where I currently live, and with all the hype from commercials, and from friends who have been to this location, I was intrigued. I had an appointment scheduled at 8:00 a.m (opening), arrived at 7:55, staff was still walking in to the door for their opening shift well past 8:00 a.m. I was the first client to arrive, followed by two other clients. The two who arrived after myself were taken back before I was. I sat in the lobby for 20 minutes before being taken back. After going back I sat in the chair for an hour and a half. About 30 minutes passed before fitment for the teeth whitening trays, 30 more minutes before the exam started, and another 30 before the cleaning was about to begin, and then I was notified of the "findings" and cost. Low and behold this is the moment they tell you that you're either in or out of network, and go over the pricing. At this point, I decided I was not going to complete the cleaning as it was approaching 2 hours of being there with almost no progress on why I was there. I left and scheduled an appointment for my prior dentist who is 30+ minutes away. The findings of Mint were false. I didn't need the fillings they quoted me, or additional dental work. They only had one thing out of the 4 correct. Horrible experience, the fact that you'll be speaking with a person who wasn't the one who did the exam about everything is horrible. From this experience it's pretty clear they just want to get money out of you. I will never visit another Mint location, or any other corporate dentist after this. read more

2 pm appt. it's 3:35 have not started my cleaning. My daughter cane in after me and is done before i left the office. My teeth are in good shape, thus is a reflection of how slow the process is. WiFi and cell signal almost non existent which means I can't work while I wait. Staff is very friendly. I wrote this ^ about a year ago. Came in 3 months ago. Had a new hygienist, work was much faster. But here is the thing, they get you in the chair and make you wait. Came in today , which is the last time I will be here. In the chair at 11 for 11 AM appt. Vitals taken, etc. then i am told both hygienist are busy, I'll have to wait 15-30 mins for the dentist to come in. He will do my cleaning- which should take 20-30 mins. So basically, they are over booking and under staffed. I've never seen the same dentist or hygienist twice. No continuum of care. I had a 12:00 spot set up after this. I texted to push it back. This was her response. "No problem, thanks for the heads up and it's why I asked. That location was good the first time or two we went but they always seem to run mega behind, which sucks when their selling point is making it feel more like a luxury/not dreaded doctor appointment" The ladies up front are very kind, but it can not over come a poor business plan / operation. The dentist did the cleaning. Got dental floss stuck between my teeth. In 57 years that had never happened with me or a dentist / hygienist. Was so wet, had to dry water off my neck and face. I explained that my company is self-insured so even if insurance would cover MY cost, my company would still be out the unnecessary money. Mint really needs to reconsider this policy. If I could give 0 Stars I would. At first they are super sweet, and caring. First appt. Everything seems fine. Then mint discount plan is a yearly plan X-ray, visit and cleaning, and whitening for a small fee. Then of course everything else is extra if you need work. Well the whole thing is a lie. They get you in the door then refuse to give the extra items. After my xrays was suppose to be my cleaning, nope they come in with the extensive work needed and say that I can't get that cleaning it has to be a "deep clean" even though I already technically paid for the cleaning. I get my whitening trays done and tech said I could leave with them to wait to use after cleaning. Deep clean is $400 out of pocket by the way. Then dentist comes in says you can't leave with the whitening until my next appt, mind you I already paid for them.... they are basically holding them hostage. I then scheduled my husband an appt. He now after 40 years has his first cavity...ok it happens. I call to confirm the time if 2/3 and they don't have him on the list. I find the text of the confirmation and now all of a sudden they can get him back in. At 330 from his 2pm appt he calls and says is he supposed to get a cleaning, I said yes he is that's what the plan pays for, they say no it has to be a deep clean which isn't covered and he has to come back. WTH do y'all schedule cleaning, xrays and then not have time to do them. Why would he need a deep clean for 1 cavity??! At this point I've seen this game before and I will be filing a corporate complaint. They play games and just try to get your bill up as high as possible after the initial fakeness. They even added in my son would need an ortho consult but never really gave a reason...with straight teeth and no overbite, when I clarified on his 2nd appt they still couldn't tell me why and said oh let's just wait for his next visit...I contacted his previous dentist who mentioned how ridiculous that was, based off his records. I told my husband that he wasn't to leave without a cleaning because he doesn't have time to screw around with their scheduling and he needed to just get it done. This is definitely the drive thru of dentist office . My wife made the appt since she is a fan of this place , so I took the necessary paperwork they told my wife I needed for my exam . I have to admit I wasn't thrilled to be there . I showed up early just in case , then I was asked to fill out some paperwork & would I like a teeth whitening done during this visit . I said no thx , she says " it's free . We can even send some stuff for home w you " . I declined & she seemed confused . I then filled out paperwork on a little tablet & asked if she needed my paperwork . She seemed confused why she would need my paperwork . So the next gal calls me back & she says we're gonna do xrays . I ask what for . She states they need xrays for the exam . I tell her I feel like it would be a waste of time as that is not the intention of my visit & she then gets upset & suggests we reschedule . I explain that I have xrays for them from 30 days ago & I explain if the front counter girl had accepted my paperwork they would know that . The front counter girl asked if I was afraid of the radiation or the cost 'cuz insurance will cover the xrays & the radiation won't hurt me ( but I need a lead vest ) . I tell them I'm not trying to be a problem patient but if someone would have just asked me a cpl of basic questions like .... what brings me in today ? All this could have been avoided . We do ANOTHER set of xrays for their records & I wait to see the dentist . Nice lady . After poking in my mouth for a few minutes she knew exactly why I was there & explained she wasn't gonna waste my time since we both now agree on why I'm there & she gives me a referral . We even joke w the gal that was assisting about why the whitening they offered me when I came in was not applicable for me . So I proceed to leave & they hand me a gift bag . I get home , open the nice black bag w gold trim & see what foodies I got . The usual : toothbrush , small trial size toothpaste , a big tube of charcoal toothpaste from Mint , & last but not least a syringe of ... ??? No instructions , no label until I look at the small print & it's teeth whitening gel . So my wife got that . read more

The BEST dentist ever. The two gorgeous ladies at the front desk are always so sweet and offer such a welcoming vibe! The office staff overall is AMAZING, however, I have easily found my favorite duo! Dr.Jack and Megan! I am terrified of the dentist (I rescheduled twice because I was so scared, I'm a big wimp) and when I finally came I had these two amazing people. Megan is just too funny and she's honestly a mood lol and Dr.Jack is very good at his job, he did my fillings and when I raised my hand because I felt a little something he stopped immediately and made me more numb and made sure I was good to go. They both talk to you while they are working and crack a few jokes here and there so you feel very relaxed. I'm sure all of the staff is amazing so who ever you get you are in good hands! I am so glad I faced my fear of the dentist and am now able to have a smile I can feel proud of! I honestly can't wait to go back! (Weird I know) read more
