I had the special for the day which was very good. A chicken sandwich with the veggies of the day (zucchini and squash) very tasty. The service was amazing. Very friendly, quickly served and very good conversations. Live the ambiance of the place!

Lots of room for improvement here. I will start with the good part. We came with a party of 7. 514 has a beautiful roof top dining area overlooking the river. It has lots of potential. The server was a charming young man, extremely polite. He kept apologizing over and over for all the problems - the wait, the lack of drinks, the mistakes in the cocktails, the mistakes in the food. He was also inexperienced. Remember that roof top terrace? The bad side is that they have it poorly lit and freight train goes by frequently - five times the evening we had dinner there. The cocktails were a mess - one of our party ordered a dirty martini and got vodka and scotch with olives in it. I ordered a sangria which was fruitless and was more akin to a wine spritzer. How do you mess up cocktails? The food quality would be mediocre on its best day. I ordered a half cobb salad with no bacon and no onions. It was covered in bacon and onions. The shrimp chowder might have been good but it was served tepid. A lot of changes are needed here.

Friends invited us to check out 514 Chop House for dinner on a Saturday night. The restaurant is located on the riverfront in downtown Washington, MO, and reservations are accepted. I had previewed their menu before heading out and knew that they were priced on the higher end than our normal go-to places. I ordered the shrimp ceviche as an appetizer. This was so good and refreshing! It comes out in a martini glass and is served with a side of fresh pasta chips. For my main entree, I ordered the Tuna Au Poivre with a side of asparagus, and my husband ordered their catch of the day, which was a mahi mahi dish. We both really enjoyed our meals. Note: their Smokey Herb Vinaigrette on their house salad is A-MAZ-ING! Oh, so good!! Our server was very attentive and helpful. He was upfront that they were slightly short-handed that night, but he would do everything he could to get things out to us as quickly as possible. Appetizers and salads were served quickly, but we did have quite a wait for our main dishes. He brought out fresh bread to tide everyone (especially the kids in our party) over for a bit. Happy with our experience here.

514 Chop House is a great place to enjoy an evening of great food, but why just have a meal wen you can stick around and have a few drinks. With everything from a perfectly cooked steak to a mouthwatering burger you are sure to find a meal that will make your belly smile. Oh, and no matter what be sure to get the fries!!!

We had an absolutely amazing lunch here yesterday. Was in the Washington area and decided to check out this place along the Missouri River. What an awesome surprise. Quality food in a friendly atmosphere with all the attention to detail that you would expect of a 4 star restaurant. I had the BBQ ranch chicken club sandwich and it was out of this world. Perfectly cooked pounded thing chicken breasts with a delicious BBQ ranch sauce. This is a large old power house converted to a bar/grill with entertainment and a roof top patio. Definitely a must stop if your in Washington, MO

The menu is diverse with a variety of rolls with several that seem similar to rolls from other locations. I went with the rock and roll and the queen roll. Starting with the positives is the attentiveness of service. Staff is friendly and inviting and read my mind with the recommendation of the rock and roll as I was considering that one! The rolls came out and they are packed with fresh ingredients and presented well. The exterior of the rock and roll was fried just enough to give nice crunchy texture with modest filling so you arent hunting around the roll figuring out where something is. The rolls were all cut evenly. The rock and roll was delicious, however sliced a little bigger than what I like but it comes with a lot so I get why its larger. The negatives - I thought the Queen roll was OK. I felt the white fish could've been crispier as it was rather soft. Everything felt more one note as the white fish had no real discernible flavor, paired with shrimp and avocado and it was mostly bland. Perhaps add another element and texture or make the white fish bigger and stand out more. Lastly, the soft drink had an unpleasant after taste. I ordered Dr Pepper and it tasted either like diet or the carbonation was going out on it. I'd be willing to return and try more of what you have to offer!

When we walked in I was impressed with two things. The smell of seafood heavy in the air and the decor. Definitely takes you back to the ocean and seafood ! The service was pretty good and our server (Alyssa) was spot on. Friendly and always checking on us. She was helpful too giving us suggestions on what to order. So we picked the Special B. Came in about 15 minutes and was huge. Tons of shrimp, crab legs, corn, sausage, potatoes the most amazing juice it sat in. Here's a tip. Bring your own rubber disposable gloves. You're gonna get messy and their gloves fit loose. Awesome place, really good seafood, great service and a pretty good price.

I ordered the kirkwood combo with mild spice and old bay and garlic seasoning. There was crab, shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn. The spice was a bit spicy for mild but it didn't bother me, I only bring this up for the spice sensitive. It was just enough for one person to eat if they were Hungry, but feasibly could be enough for two with small appetites. There were a good number of shrimp and crab legs and they were fresh and tasty. I don't like sausage so I didn't eat that but I did eat the potatoes and corn and they were delicious soaked in the liquid from my boil. I have been looking for a decent boil because my daughter also loves boils and down south where we lived for quite some time there are plenty. Storming crab will be our go to place for boils. It was really very good. Also let me add before I end, one thing that drew me here was prices. I don't mind paying for a good boil but I do mind if it is too much for me to eat and half gets thrown out. It was nice to find a place that had a good boil for one person that was priced well for the food received. I am very happy with my decision to go here and will definitely be back.
