Spruce Moose Lodge & Cottages

Leon and Nellie have been friends of my family for years (even longer than the decades we've been…read morecoming to New Hampshire), but somehow we'd never stayed at the Spruce Moose. Even without the familial connection, I'd be absolutely in love with this place. Family and friends gathered this past weekend for a memorial hike in honor of my dad, who passed in 2007. Leon and Nellie went out of their way to accommodate us, down to even offering additional rooms when some extra guests appeared and getting up extra early to make us to-go egg sandwiches we could take long on our hike up Mt. Washington. Both our group and the other guests at the Inn were treated like treasured friends in their home and it felt like a big old family reunion for us all. The Spruce Moose is the perfect location---a short walk to the adorable North Conway village, and a quick drive to countless hiking options. The decor makes you feel like you're visiting friends in a luxurious mountain home. Zeb and Avery, the two trusty labs, greet you at the door and will cuddle you on the couch for hours if you let them. The beds are comfy, and the rooms contain no tvs so you can truly enjoy the nature around you (though there IS wi-fi if you need your technology fix). Breakfast in the morning is delicious and filling. Tea and coffee are available at any time. It was an amazing weekend, in no small part to Leon and Nellie. I will be back to the Spruce Moose the next time I come to North Conway!

Avery and Jed are the most welcoming doggies, I was only with them for one night and I miss them terribly. The breakfast was excellent, coffee and tea are available all the time. My room was beautiful, the shower had great water pressure, and the lodge itself is super warm and cozy. I honestly felt like I was visiting relatives I just hadn't met yet.

This place has jacuzzis in every room so I had champagne waiting with rose petals spread out everywhere and it ended with a heart shape in bed. Charcuterie board was setup for us...man it was a dope setup and the look on her face was priceless when we entered the room. There were definitely fireworks in New Hampshire during our visit. Each room is a different theme and it's near the border of Maine so we got to enjoy both NH and Maine. Our time together was an absolute dream!! My mind is still blown away at how I wanted so badly to have a different life right now BUT GOD decided to give me what I needed and a precious gift she is. This was the perfect location to truly be romantic and show the love that I have to give because of God in my life. I'm the person I used to be, hopeless romantic, and she deserves it. Staff here is superb! They will even give you a tour of the other rooms if they are unoccupied.

I'm neurotic when it comes to cleaning. I tried cleaning it myself three times. I did not find a single crumb or hair or anything. It was spotless. Front desk staff were extremely kind. I love it all of the movie selections and the soundproof rooms and you can play your music off. The Bluetooth provided which is really fun. I will definitely be coming back.

Check in process was simple, as well as check out. The room was well maintained, clean and up to date except I think the outlets could be changed out as we tried to plug in our devices and the connections were loose, and we felt the plugs could simply fall out. Breakfast was to our satisfaction. They had scramble eggs, sausages, biscuits and gravy on the hot plates. If you want waffles I would suggest you get there quite early as the line could get long for the waffle makers. There was a wide variety of all you could eat pastries as well as fruit, cereal and juices. They also have The Pirates Cove Mini golf on premise, which was closed for the season on our visit. The exterior was well maintained and had lots of decorative foliage along the walkways in front of the entrance. We look forward to visiting other Comfort Inn & Suites if not this one again.

The movie nights, afternoon coffee and cereal bar are fun and nice to have. My only major complaint is if you have loud neighbors, (or above) you hear everything. And I mean everything... we heard you pee too. The doors also slam shut so if you have people coming and going around you late at night this may bug you. It startled my son awake a few times and this was with the loud fan and TV on.

We loved the water slides, cleanliness, and friendliness of the lifeguards and staff at the waterpark. It was so quiet mid week, we were sometimes the only ones in the baby area. The hotel is clean and affordable for our family; we wanted a space for our baby to sleep while we stayed up, so the Alcove Room was amazing for this purpose! The view from our room is beautiful, and the hotel is quiet. We loved that if we didn't want to go outside into the cold, we didn't have to. Breakfast, coffee, pizza, dinner, and a bar were all a walk away from our room. Housekeeping is great. The hotel has a texting service so if your room needs attention or if you need toiletries/towels, you can text the front desk. I would definitely return midweek for the free water park admission! Hotel room needs some TLC, but it's clean and good for a casual getaway!

The staff quickly remedied the situation and we went to a new room on the second floor. Seems all the rooms have a terrace which was nice and our view was beautiful! The second room was not as updated but was clean and smelled fine. There was no loud sound issue which was nice. Occasionally heard kids running but nothing to crazy or late at night. One thing that I didn't like was the wall air conditioning units. Like the last time we were there, it turns off in the middle of the night, ugh! The sheets were kinda scratchy as well. Standard amenities: hair dryer (works well!), iron and ironing board, safe, in room Starbucks coffee, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, lotions, cable, alarm radio/clock What I like about this hotel is the attached water park and the fun activities they have for the kids. Nightly marshmallow toasting (not a smore! Marshmallow only) and fun things like movie night, pool parties, arcade, and kite making activities. Plenty of parking but far away from the rooms on the left side of the hotel.
