The Old Stagecoach Inn was the only one that refused to offer any flexibility, citing that severe weather is a "foreseeable" risk and that I should have purchased trip insurance. I understand small businesses rely on reservations, but the response from management felt unnecessarilyj rigid and dismissive, especially compared to the empathy shown by other small, family owned Vermont inns. Given how the situation was handled, I would not stay here or recommend it to others. P.S. We don't think extreme weather is "foreseeable" since we had been checking the weather up to a week prior.

Greg showed us around the property, the lobby shop, brought us to our room and explained all the unique and exciting details of the house and property. We woke up each morning to a beautifully prepared breakfast. Since our trip was so last minute, we didn't have much of a plan. Greg was kind enough to sit down with us and help us map out our entire journey. He even helped us map an alternate route home that was more scenic. We didn't get to everything on the list, but everything he mentioned was perfect. You can tell he has a genuine love and passion for what he does. His advice and planning alone made the experience excellent. I can go on and on about the perfect stay we had. You can tell Greg and Willie are very passionate about what they do. They have two other restaurant entrances and the owners really should make the patrons use that entrance vs the main entrance. So plan on it being loud from 0730 AM to after 1200pm. Yelp has a 20% discount if you check in on the app for 2 nights or more. The coupon is outdated and the owners never responded to my inquiry. The coupon should be taken down as I didn't see how it could be redeemed anyway since you must pay in full 14 days prior to your stay and the hotel is self check in. We were up at Bolton Valley for a wedding and after checking out Sunday morning we were starrrving. We happened upon a charming 3 story period building with white porches and hanging plants, it was almost disgustingly adorable. But it had a sign outside saying they were serving breakfast. Sold. We went in and the inn is furnished with an array of antiquities and period furnishings but not to the point it feels stuffy or overdone. More cozy. We got the last table in the tiny dining room and the woman running the breakfast invited us to help ourselves to the table in the next room, full of fruit, pastries, granola, tea and coffee. The instant gratification of this set up could not have made me happier, except that then as we waited and munched on granola and fruit and tea, the service was so attentive and warm, it would almost be off putting if it hadn't been so genuine. Anyway we both ordered from a long list of hot breakfast items. Eggs benedict and a mushroom cheddar omelet. This is clearly a place to sit and savor the morning and the fact that our breakfast took longer than it might at some of our boston haunts actually added to my overall enjoyment of the meal. I was so unhurried and unfettered by time. When our breakfast came we sank our teeth into some seriously delicious food. My mushroom omelet was maybe the best I've ever had... I don't know how they did it but the mushrooms were SO flavorful. And the eggs benny by my boyfriend's account were "top notch." As a side we each got a potato patty which was essentially a latke and SO delicious. Perfect for soaking up extra hollandaise. And seriously, the service was exceptional. Attentive, but not overly so, and I think the thing I liked most was the family feel that the staff created. It felt like we'd been invited over to breakfast. We actually booked the Cozy Screen House the first two nights (beautiful site, CLEAN inside and out, real futon, flashlights, S'more fixings, everything! ) and we almost didn't want to give it up to be inside the Mill. Pictures can't evoke the energy in this place: the scented wood and stone entryway; the warm tones and lighted walls and creaky planks of the main living room and bar; the authentic STEEP climb to the upstairs (shared) bathroom-with teak tub! (Knuckle bite)- oh and then the upstairs private bedroom and sitting room...just outstanding. The constant rush of the river was very soothing. Felt very relaxed and comfortable using the deck, towels, drying rack, coffee maker, and bug spray available. Notes: beautiful natural paths (uneven stones, careful), and gorgeous hand made wooden steps (hold hand rail) from deck to main house. Swimming on site is an unforgettable experience! But not for the faint of heart, or those with vertigo...very steep steps (excellent solid rope hand rail), then an almost vertical ladder of 5-6 steps. Wow! Totally worth it! We were in Jericho for a business meeting and did not feel like making the long drive at night, back to New Hampshire. I searched for a place to stay for the night and that is how I found the Sinclair Inn Bed & Breakfast. The gorgeous home is full of charm and history and all the lovely small details of a turn of the century home. Kyle and Holly were thoughtful and willing to accommodate our dietary needs. Our breakfast was incredible. Kyle made sweet potato waffles and blueberry compote. He also make yogurt parfait with fresh fruit. Since I am a vegetarian, Kyle cooked homemade veggie sausage patties. Fresh hot and delicious coffee, orange juice and cranberry juice completed this perfect breakfast. When we are in the Jericho area again, this will be our go to place to stay. The room was comfortable and immaculate and had everything we needed. Down the hall from our room, they have a small room that guests can use. They have a full size fridge with a freezer. It was stocked with bottled water and various soda/seltzer water. We had leftover food from lunch and it was so convenient to have a place to put our food for later. This room also has a microwave and K-cup coffee pods and coffee maker. I'm so grateful that this historic and amazing home is being cared for so lovingly by Holly and Kyle. Homes like this are so special and must be preserved. There is a nice parking lot right outside the inn. Best place we have stayed in years.
