Very popular Salon almost everyday. Staff are very nice and helpful. Made an appointment for the next day and had a wonderful time. Made to feel very welcomed and social here. Would recommend having your hair done here. read more

Sara was really talented. She did my eyebrows and my side burn waxing. I would love to go back to her to get them done again if I didn't have to go back to my hometown. :( read more

Words cannot describe how beautiful our hair was for my wife and I on our wedding day. Paula and the stylists at That Look really took things to the next level and exceeded expectations. We held our wedding in New Haven ... Paula, Rachel, and her team from That Look were able to deliver a flawless proposal for pricing and services, as well as traveled to my wedding destination and coordinated with the makeup artist (from another company) extremely well. Talk about EASY PEASY!!! Vibe was on point!!!! We had two brides, plus a bridal party of seven additional women ... Paula and the team managed everything PERFECTLY and to our schedule (early, in fact)! Where as we were a little apprehensive planning our wedding 3,000 miles away from California, Paula, Rachel, and the team took care of all of our worries. What an honor! We couldn't have asked for better wedding day hair. We would highly recommend this business for your wedding needs! From updos, to half-ups, to glam waves and even extensions, these humans know their stuff! Pro tip: Book a trial before your big day so everyone is on the same page! read more

I brought my teenage daughter for a simple trim (2" of slightly wavy hair) from Brooke. I left to run a quick errand and within 2 minutes my daughter texts me to say her hair wasn't washed. She was too embarrassed to ask Brooke so I called the front desk who told me it was the hair dresser's choice to wash or not. I've gone there for several years and my wonderful hairdresser (Amber) always washed my hair, no discussion. Within 5 minutes, my daughter says her trim was done. I called the front desk again to say there is no way her hair was cut in this little time. The front desk said it is up to the hair dresser to cut the hair. The hair dresser said she didn't need to blow dry her hair bc it was dry (I had also booked a blow dry). She then tried to sell my daughter on doing her hair for her upcoming prom. Upon returning to the salon, both the hair dresser and receptionist were adamant that the unwashed, quick cut was worth the money I spent. I was not offered an apology or a refund. When we got home, my daughter told me the hairdresser cut her hair while my daughter stood up (as in, not sitting in the chair). And upon closer inspection, the simple trim was VERY uneven. I emailed the salon notifying them of the experience and requested a refund. The next day, I receive a voicemail saying I get a salon credit for the "miscommunication" that happened. I have been going to Amber for haircuts for years and I adore her and the hair cuts she does. I am sad that I cannot go back there given the poor treatment my daughter received from Brooke the hairdresser, the receptionist, and management. So, moral of the story- book with Amber if you choose to go to this salon. read more

If I could give them a 0 then I would. It was my first time ever going here. I read the reviews and they seemed good. I made my appointment online and left a $93 deposit to hold it. I signed up for a Balayage Partial, Haircut, with Color, Gloss, Toner Balance and a Shellac Manicure. The stylist did my balayage partial and toner ONLY! She didn't color the rest of my hair when I asked for a color refresh and I stated to her that she didn't cover my gray hair like I asked. She said that she didn't see any of my gray hair...I have tons of gray hair in my front hairline. I asked for curtain bangs with front layers for my haircut. I got regular short kid bangs and no visible layers for my front. Then it was time for my manicure. I sat at the table, and the lady asked what shape and color. She then proceeded to file my nails, push my cuticles back and then began painting my nails. She didn't cut my cuticles, clean under my nails and used no oils or creams on my nails whatsoever. At no point did she do any cleaning of my hands or nails. She painted my nails with dirt still under them!!! In total they charged me almost $245!! (without tip). Which they asked me if I would like to include a tip to my bill as I was paying and both the hairstylist and nail tech were standing next to the counter and watching me pay. So here is the breakdown. It cost $110 for highlights ONLY, $40 for the toner for my partial highlights, $42 for my 6th grade haircut and $45 for my unsanitary manicure. 0/10...never going back read more

I have gone to That Look Salon for several years now and Brooke is always fantastic! She is very knowledgeable in her craft and seems to work magic on my hair every single time. Brooke is efficient and detail oriented. We started off as strangers but now I won't go to anyone else unless I move! Whether I'm going back to blonde or brunette, Brooke always finds the perfect color. The salon has a very nice atmosphere and the recent bathroom renovation is on point. Most of the stylists at That Look are great at what they do - you can't really go wrong! read more

I just LOVE my stylist Sara L. She does a great job, has an amazing way about her and ,makes me laugh. Sara just recommended a new "LOOK" that I have never tried before. I love my updated hair cut. You guys DESPARTELY need some new magazines. Not all of us play around with our phones, and it would be nice to read a little if we have to wait. (although I'm rarely kept waiting more than 5 minutes) read more

I see Brooke every few months for partial highlights and she is nothing short of exceptional.

Visiting the area from NYC and desperately needed a cut. I read so many great google reviews about this salon so made an appointment and was not disappointed. Sara L. cut my hair and did a fantastic job! Sara was an absolute delight to chit chat with and is very talented. I immediately felt comfortable talking to her and being honest about what I wanted - and what I did not want! She really listened and made me feel heard and comfortable somewhere I had never been. 100% recommend. Ask for Sara L. !!! read more

I got a good haircut, but sadly, it is way shorter than I asked for. I went from very long hair to a short/medium and I want to cry. I'd give less stars but it is a good cut, i just hate it on me and it is not what i asked for. read more

Took my daughter here for hair coloring and it was a great experience. The hairstylist named Sarah was really professional, knowledgeable and personable. My daughter could not stop beaming with the biggest smile about her beautiful hair. We will definitely be returning. read more

I had a bayalage highlight appointment with Lori. She was awesome and really happy with my hair. I was also really impressed with how they adjusted for COVID-19 restrictions. Felt confident that they took proper precautions to create a safe environment. I've come here before and they always maintain a very clean salon as well as friendly professional team. read more

I had never been to the salon and had a totally wonderful experience. Ann colored my hair and blew it out. A fantastic job! They have a well organized system for appointment text reminders. The salon is a renovated church and the space is beautiful and clean. Speaking of space, there's plenty of space in between stylists. I discovered them online and will return. More importantly, I urged my husband to make his next appointment with Ann! read more

Used to come here for big occasions in high school like prom. Turns out they can still ace my hair before a childhood friend's wedding! Lovely blowout and styling and you cannot beat the natural light. Thanks to the fine stylists here who are so warm and great at what they do! read more

No precision with their cuts. I have tried this place on 2 separate occasions and was left with an uneven cut both times. Both cuts were just a basic bob that is slightly longer in the front than the back and both times the right side was noticeably longer than the left. I have also gotten high lights here twice. They do an okay job, but they are a little too thick of stands for my taste and look a little too streaky. After the first experience, I thought I would go back and try another stylist. But after having the same result with a different stylist, I will not be returning. read more

That Look Salon - This is after she was done with the cut (a simple bob). Hugely uneven side to side. - Hair Salons Near Me - East Lyme, Connecticut

Quite possibly the worst haircut I have ever received. I understand that my hair is hard to work with, as it is thick and wavy, but I expect after paying close to $30 for a trim, I would walk out with something close to what I wanted. Going into the appointment, I asked for a trim and showed pictures of what my hair looked like in late October. Coming out, my hair was not only un-even on either side, some parts far too long on the top than the rest of the hair, $30 poorer, and my hair was maybe 3 inches shorter than I expected. It is safe to say that I will be looking for a new place to get my hair cut. read more

My wife had a hair cut and color there. She was very happy with the results. However she had 100 dollars stolen from her there. I contacted the owner and she never responded to me. Very disappointed! read more

Sarah is awesome. She goes above and beyond when cutting and styling your hair. Eerytime I have my hair cut I show up with a picture and I end up with a hair cut that looks exactly like the picture. read more

Samantha has been my stylist for a few years now and has guided me through multiple obstacles with my hair including the grow out process after needing to cut my hair due to hair loss and helping it grow out as it grew back in. I appreciate her input while working with my ideas when I want to make changes. She's honest and supportive. I've referred several people who now see Sam regularly. The entire staff is wonderful! read more

My favorite place for haircuts and color ! We moved over an hour away and I still will drive there ! Great friendly helpful staff

I was very pleased with the service and haircut that received. Tonya did a great job and I will be back to see her.

I was not impressed with this place at all. I've gotten much better pedicures elsewhere for half the price. There were no other customers in the salon, which should have been my first clue, and I got what they call a "deluxe" pedicure. There was NOTHING deluxe about it. Other places I've been to have the spa type tub to soak your feet, the nice big cushy massage chair, and they do the whole shebang - scrubs, lotions, paraffin, hot stone massage, shoulder massage, etc and it only costs around $30. This place had NONE of those things and it was $50!!! Total ripoff. I will not be going back. read more
