Restaurant was clean, only 1 employee out of the 3 that were there was inviting. Food was fresh, hot and delicious. The burger was a tad bit salty, as well as the truffle fries, but it all blended well. It was fullfilling, and worth the money. We will come back most definitely. I had the Chipotle Jack with truffle fries. YUM! He asked if I wanted a double, was not sure how big the "smash" burgers would be so I said yes. In the future I will just do a single, I feel it would be a perfect burger. Great flavor and the avocado salsa added a great touch. This is one of my teenaged son's favorite local burger places, so I'm sorta forced to eat here once a year on his birthday. Now that I'm on yelp, I'm able to finally leave a review! It is not a favorable one, as I'm reviewing the restaurant through the eyes of a mom--and a rather picky mom, at that! Where do I begin?! I'll begin with cleanliness: This joint is appalling! Every square inch is alternately greasy or sticky: the tables, benches, counters, door handles...even the napkin holders are covered in greasy smears, and there was food splattered up on our table light fixture! The "fresh-brewed" iced tea is NOT freshly brewed on-site. It has that citric acid preservative tang that only comes from an off-site food production plant. Terrible stuff. I took one sip, threw it out, and drank water. I ordered chicken tenders, and they were the worst tenders I've ever had in my life: overcooked and tough and lacking in any yumminess whatsoever. To boot, they're not a whole chicken tenderloin but look like a tenderloin had been halved into two then breaded and fried. I got four little one-half-to-three-quarter-inch-wide chewy strips for 6.79. Sides are extra, and can be "combo'd" with a drink for an additional 4.79. I've already discussed the truly terrible tea, so let's talk about their fries. "Natural cut" fries can be okay, but these had black gashes and bruises all over them! I picked through what I felt was safe to eat, but these were the ugliest, blackest, worst quality fries I've encountered. I left feeling somewhat sickened...and still kinda hungry. The quality-and-taste-for-value just isn't here. This is a negative review, but far be it from me to not show props where props are due! I will note the food came out hot, and the young man who took our order and brought it out to us was courteous and professional. He made eye contact and asked if there was anything else we needed and then brought more ketchup promptly. No complaints about him or the food temperature! read more

The food here is just meh (nothing special). We've gone twice to see if it was an isolated experience. It's pretty pricey for just an average burger and the chicken tinders were overcooked. If you're looking to be satisfied, I'd stick with the bigger chain restaurants. The first time we were there the manager greeted us the second time gave us the impression that it was more of a hangout for highschoolers and wasn't being maintained by staff. This visit seemed typical of most restaurants: a solid meal and good service. An Asiago salad was a good portion and satisfactory. Wow amazing! I came here for lunch with a few co works and I'm so glad we did! Coming from Miami it's so hard to find good burgers around town some times. But I think I found my favorite place to have a mushroom burger! It was absolutely delicious. If you aren't sure what you want they also have two other restaurants attached. A pizza and salad place and Ice cream. The service was amazing. The staff was very friendly and the restrooms were clean. read more

This was our favorite burger place! Then a few months ago something changed. Like the buns! Plus the non-soda drinks are always empty and the last visit our fries were so overcooked we had to have them remade. (I think they re-dropped some old ones). It started at the drive thru. This business is with two others, but you can only order at drive thru from Oberweis. I walked in and was told you had to order from one register for all three businesses. When placing my order I asked the manager who was working the register if there was a difference on topping from the burger or cheeseburger. She pointed to the menu and said that one has cheese, which wasn't what I was asking. After paying for my items, 2 sandwiches and 2 fries for over $26 I was never offered a drink even though it would have been included in the meal price. I tried to explain this to the manger who waited on me and all she could say was, "you didn't order a drink" After I said why wouldn't you tell someone it would be the same price she just repeated herself. Then she asked if I wanted a drink and I said yes if it wasn't costing me more. Before I could take the cups she was handing me, she rudely said, "Your Welcome!" very loud. As I picked up my bag of food I opened it to find the fry container upside down. The food was ok nothing special and not worth the price. The burgers were undercooked and the fries were greasy. I took 2 people with me last night to see what it was. The first surprise was that it was Oberweis Ice Cream, Burgers, and Pizza all in one. We ordered two burgers and pick two pizza. Both of us who ordered the burgers made sounds of appreciation with the very first bite. My Patty Melt was so good! The marble rye bread made it perfect. The food is good. The place seems clean. Thus the two stars. But beware. In this time of Covid, some of the employees wear masks, most wear them on their necks, including the managers. I saw the guy behind the line who made my food not even bother with a mask at all. At least he wore gloves? And then as my food sat in the window waiting to be ran, he was leaning on the counter breathing less than a foot on my food. I doubt he was doing it intentionally but if I get sick in two weeks I will know the first place that the contact tracers should check. The manager who ran our food also did not bother to wear a mask... but he seemed nice? And in case you don't realize, this place, the new ice cream and pizza place next to it are all the same spot on the inside. If I had one word to describe this place, it would me mediocre. It wasn't bad, but for the price, the quality was just wasn't there.

I stopped in on Saturday, August 1, for lunch. I wasn't impressed. I figured with the beautiful building and the gourmet presentation on the signs that these burgers would blow my mind. Sadly, that wasn't the case. The burger was bland and an excessive amount of garlic salt was used on the soggy French fries. That Cheeseburger, fries, and a soda came to $11.50. That's way too steep for the quality they serve. At a minimum you have to put salt on the patty before cooking it. You don't need much to make a difference. It also helps to create a bit of a crunch when you bite into it. That goes along way. Otherwise your toppings only serve to mask the blandness of the burger and not accentuate it's flavor. Get rid of the thick cut onions too. I know it's easier to serve that instead of caramelized onions, but the flavor of cooked onions will add more value to the burger. Lastly, if you're going to serve French fries then they have to be thick cut fries. You don't need to cook them 4x like Chef Ramsay does, but thick, crispy fries will be remembered much better than soggy shoestring fries. At this time I can't recommend That Burger Joint. read more
