first time coming here w my sister! The guy who served us was really nice and welcoming. We got the new limited drinks & it was 10/10 the strawberry cold foam blending w the coffee was delicious!! definitely coming back to try the rest.

I had a hazelnut iced latte with soy milk, cinnamon coffee cake and a blueberry one, everything was delicious. My coffee was made perfect and paired so good with both desserts but the coffee cake was my fav. I ordered on Uber eats and would definitely come back.

I am so glad this bakery shop pooped up in my feed! I was craving something sweet and when a post popped up on my feed featuring a strawberry matcha, I clicked on it and saw that it was a small business shop! I decided to take the chance and head there. As I arrived, I was immediately greeted and informed if I had any questions, to feel free to ask. I informed him that it was my first time, and simply requested their most popular drink. I also bought three decadent and generous sized brownies and cake slices! Honestly, the most flavorful and delicious treat! Definitely, making another drive back!

Had a craving for a Brownie and coffee this afternoon as a pick me up. Went to a doughnut shop and it was a no go. Sat in the parking lot trying to figure out where to go when ai figured this was a job for Yelp. So ai got on the app and found, "That 1 Bakery", in Compton. Not only had they offered Brownies but "Specialty" Brownies and Coffee as well. One stop shop for me. Fantastic! When ai arrived people were inside and folk were also pulling up right along with me which was a great indicator of being in the right place. So not only did ai encounter three variations of Brownies to choose from. There was also my favorite Latte Syrup available so ai got a cup Coffee with two of the three offerings of the Brownies, The Chocolate Fudge and Cookie Dough. There was also three variations of Coffee Cake as well that took me back to Junior High, and so ai chose the "Apple Cake". Looked delish so ai had to try it. Got home and took a sample of all three and the winner today was the Apple Cake. Ai was surprised it changed my crave from a Brownie with Coffee to the Apple Cake and Coffee. Go figure. Those two Brownies will definitely be on the hit list later or tomorrow. Thanks for the experience That 1 Bakery. Will surely see you soon.

Love this bakery! They have a variety of yummy pastries as well as great service and helpful employees. I ordered a last minute cake and they had it made within 24 hours! The attention to detail and glitter was amazing as well as the flavor. Thank you so much! I've already been twice in one week lol

I went on a marketing call with my marketer to one of our panel physicians. Unfortunately, he was on vacation and my marketer only found out when we were almost at his office. She felt bad that I drove all that way and interrupted my schedule (I wasn't even supposed to be in the area save this call) so she said she'd buy me a coffee and a pastry. She told me that "That 1 Bakery" was nearby and that it sold her favorite pastries and matcha teas and coffees. Not being a matcha fan, I was about to pass but she insisted I try it. Getting there was easy as it was just off Rosecrans and Santa Fe. However, parking was terrible. There was little to no parking on the street and a few off street spots next to it. (I later found out that there was parking on both sides with the adjoining business so that basically doubled the parking). The store, itself, is really clean with a minimalist vibe. Jonathan, one of the owners (his older brother is the other owner) was a pleasant and enthusiastic 20 something old who loved baking and making people happy. He blended both in this small, independent bakery. The selections were too numerous for a first timer like myself, but seeing pineapple upside down cake in the display case piqued my interest since my mom had an old Hawaiian recipe she used to bake for me as a kid. To me, that would be my benchmark. The cake was moist and not overly sweet. The pineapple a little too firm and the cherry just right. You should be able to cut through the pineapple with a fork or spoon but I couldn't and had to basically pick up the whole ring with my fork and then take a bite. If it wasn't for the texture of the pineapple ring, I'd have said it was almost as good as mom's... My marketer and Jonathan both told me to try their signature cinnamon roll. He told me that is what they're known for. So, having just had a drink of the tuxedo iced coffee (white chocolate and mocha iced coffee which is absolutely delicious) I went for the cinnamon roll. O M G This roll was unlike anything I've ever had. It made Cinnabon seem like Pillsbury rolls. First off, the rolls are kept warm on a warmed baking sheet with a thin layer of caramel keeping the roll from drying out. The condensation beads under the clear plastic cover indicated that the steam was keeping it moist. I likened their warming technique to an upside down tres leches cake. Instead of holes poked into the pastry and milk poured over it and absorbed, the caramel was absorbed, almost by reverse osmosis into the roll. This warming method is much better than heat lamps or a steam table. The roll was not dried out or hard. Watching Jonathan drizzle freshly made icing on top of the warm roll added to the pageantry. The anticipation made the wait almost unbearable. The aroma was subtle and not overly sweet. The texture was moist with the plastic fork easily cutting through the roll. The temperature was just right. Warm enough to indicate fresh baked goodness, but not too hot that it took away from the experience. While the pineapple upside down cake was only 4 stars and the parking was 3, the cinnamon roll and Jonathan's passion and enthusiasm were a 5+. I love supporting small, independent businesses, but I love meeting the owners and entrepreneurs behind those businesses even more. For a young guy and his brother to start a bakery in today's economy, with smiles on their faces and an absolutely positive and chill vibe that's also infectious, it shows that there's still hope for the young business people of today and tomorrow who don't rely on entitlement to succeed. And that is what makes this business so sweet...

Such a cute gem in the city ! The drinks have been delicious every time. I got the horchata matcha it was a bit on the sweeter side but besides that it was great. Service is great they are sweet and it's always quick! Seating is good too. Parking can be a bit of a hassle but def worth it !!

Stopped by Wednesday afternoon around 3. Not busy and the gentleman who greeted me was very helpful. Very thing looked delicious. I choose two cake slices. I will definitely be back! Have attempted to order various times from uber eats. Each at a different time of day. From open to close they cancel my order on their end. Why promote yourselves if you're just going to cancel?! A WHOLE HOUR from closing is ridiculous!!

The food was the best i ever had but i did have some problems the first was that it took 1 hour to make the cupcakes with there special cream the worker told me he was about to pass out but the cream was good and salty the only bummer was how long it takes to male them

If you haven't already tried That 1 Bakery you are truly missing out! They are not only caring and customer focused but they also make the best lattes I've ever had. With so many flavors to choose from there is something for everyone! I also made the great choice of ordering custom cakes and they are the best in the treats department as well. I look forward going to work knowing I can stop at That 1 Bakery on my way. A true Compton gem!

Tried a cupcake, cinnamon roll, brownie, and choco cookie. Cookie was delicious, but the other pastries were honestly wayy tooo sweet. I also tried the horchata matcha which tasted horribly artificial and a mocha which lacked flavor I wouldn't recommend:( Maybe I was unlucky with what I ordered and received but everything but the cookie was sadly nasty or too sweet :( However the guy who helped me was nice :) read more

Saw this bakery on Instagram a few days ago, so I decided to stop by on my usual once a month excursion to Los Angeles. I was pleasantly surprised to find a really nice bakery with a very light ambiance with a quaint atmosphere. I found the service to be good, the owner is a very accommodating gentleman who was very happy to answer any questions that I had. I purchased multiple pieces of baked goods, today I am trying the Chocolate chocolate cake, which is full of flavor and very moist, I was not disappointing at all. If you are looking for a local bakery with good cakes, I do believe you will not be disappointed with anything served. read more

Many months ago we tried the gingerbread, some coffee drinks and another pastry. The service was fine and the ambiance was ok. As for the iced coffee...it was not very strong and the taste was watered down. The gingerbread was hard and not edible. Sorry to say that all the hype was untrue in my case. I was hoping it would be great so we could continue to support a local business but sadly that was not the case. read more

I have been here a few times now, and man this place is similar to a place on 2nd st in LB, but better. The cakes are all delicious and the coffees are made perfectly. Always fast service, the guy is always helpful and very polite. Yeah it's in the hood, but when you're inside you fell like you're somewhere else, nice clean place. read more

I thought this would be like a sweet Jill's knock off. But it wasn't. It looks like it could be. It's very plain inside. Kind of melancholy to be honest. There was no life inside. The walls are plain. The decor is plain. It almost feels like your getting cake from a deli. They guy behind the counter was nice. But I swear I seen a fly in one of those glass cake fridges and that turned me off. I don't think I'll be going back. read more

Just finished celebrating my husband's birthday with a German chocolate cake from this bakery. Everyone loved it! I'm allergic to coconut, so I had an Oreo brownie, Amazing! We forgot an item when we picked up the cake, Arturo called immediately and held if for us. My foster grandson, 17, wanted a muffin. He made inappropriate remarks about how good it was. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ! I am so happy there's a bakery here now. It seems like their menu changes so you're just gonna have to go in to see what they have. I have already been here three times since they've open and I have not been disappointed. Was so excited to hear their Yelp was finally available! Baked goods 10000000/10! We had their strawberry cheesecake, chocolate chip cookie cheesecake, blueberry coffee cake, regular coffee cake, cinnamon rolls, and two cupcakes. I can literally say they're just freaking amazing. My favorite were the blueberry (I think there's lemon) coffee cake and regular coffee cake. Coffee 100/10 ! We had a hot chai latte and also an iced hazelnut latte. Definitely delicious, but on the sweeter side (which is what I like so no complaints here). Cant wait to try the other drinks they have. Customer service 100000000/10!! I need to start getting names when I visit but everyone has been soooo sweet ! They're open for feedback and when you need some recommendations, they won't let you down. Parking is limited. Two spots right in the front or even on the side of the building if you pass it and happen to have to go through the alley as a u-turn. Just be mindful of your maps when you're close by. read more

I've visited this bakery a few times now, but it has been twice now during my lunch break where i've stopped by with coworkers, and both times the doors were locked with no sign or notice indicating whether they were closed temporarily, on lunch, or adjusting hours. While their drinks are great, the lack of communication about their availability feels unprofessional--especially when it causes us to waste our limited lunch break waiting outside. A simple sign or update would go a long way in improving the customer experience. read more

The service was amazing I was greeted upon arrival..the ambiance was nice inside the outside has only street parking from what I can see I went late it was almost closing time..let's talk bout this slice of cake tho the cake was very moist with real strawberries mesh in well the icing was delicious it was not super sweet it was so on point.. the prices for the slice was very reasonable. read more

Bakery items are a very decent size they are shareable. Flavor is also there so it's a win win. My daughters favorite is the red velvet cupcake and the cupcake latte w/ oatmilk. Cookie dough cheesecake is amazing chefs kiss . The service is great very friendly and helpful made us feel comfortable and welcomed. The ambiance is very upbeat and fun. read more

Visited this bakery for the first time last week. Small bakery can easily be missed if you don't know it's there. Service/ambiance was ok, didn't feel super welcoming..... service needs a little improvement. Maybe some light music might help, just a little friendly suggestion. Not sure about parking, I parked right in front of the bakery. Baked goods were awesome. We got a confetti cupcake, churro cupcake, red velvet cupcake, Oreo brownie and a cold Spanish latte. EVERYTHING was so good especially the latte..... I will definitely return to this bakery. Cupcakes were perfect, not too sweet. read more

This place has been around for just 20 months, but I have been hearing such good things and decided to give this bakery a try. I am so happy I did! Everything I tasted was delicious! My favorite of course were the chocolate chip cookies, because I just love cookies. The pumpkin pie cheesecake is divine!! The brownies are true brownies, pure decadence. I am not a fan of carrot cake but I am s fan of their carrot cake, the carrot is not overpowering and they add coconut, I love coconut. The cupcakes are moist and perfect. I love that nothing is sickly sweet but a perfect balance of sweetness. The bakery parking is small, but there are about 5 tables inside were you can sit and enjoy your treats. I'm not a coffee drinker so did not try the coffee but they offer many different kinds of coffee. I'm so happy I live near by do I can stop by several times a week. read more

Service so far has been 10/10 . Polite, welcoming, nice! Two separate occasions. Cupcakes : DELICIOUS !! I am not a cake or cup cake person (unless is Bundt cake or ice cream cake) but these were sooo yummy in taste, and NOT DRY. I got banana and chocolate, (I added the choc fondants btw.. ) I will be ordering again. Coffee : I am a sweet coffee person , I like more sweet than coffee taste . But this was a bit too much flavoring. Probably the pumpkin syrup . I asked for 50/50 flavor , probably go very light/ easy on pumpkin syrup or get an extra shot... Didn't discourage me though - I'll definitely have to go try some more coffeee and drinks!!! My new fav shop in the area !! read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would! They don't lock their doors and gave attitude when I explained I just wanted to buy a pastry quickly (there were other customers) they told me it was fine then proceeded to talk about me like I wasn't there. Honestly so disappointing. read more

I am NOT a dessert person however, that may have changed. I was craving a cinnamon roll so my husband checked on Yelp and found this place, I'm so happy he did customer service is top notch and the bakery items are even better! Cinnamon rolls are a MUST have, super delicious we also had the carrot cake and pineapple up side down cake ....all chefs kiss! Fresh and delicious I'm a forever fan, we parked on the street so I'm not exactly sure if there's a parking lot. The inside is clean and cozy and like I previously mentioned the customer service is warm and inviting, the guy that helped us out even got us fresh cinnamon rolls from the back I wish I got his name. When I say amazing you best hear me loud and clear!! So good. Everything is so good. Made with love and a taste that will make you mad for wanting so much more. absolutely my favorite small business bakery to support. i've been here twice, the first time i tried a brownie and an iced chai. both were amazing and service was great. today was the same, except i tried their matcha horchata & it was delish!!! it was 7.50 and it came out so so quick. the customer service is the best always! they have such a great variety of pastries that looks tasty! the parking is a bit limited but there is some street parking in the neighborhood. the inside is very clean and natural. i've seen them bake the cutest cakes on their instagram so i encourage ordering one for occasions. i definitely will start coming here way more often! 100/10 support small businesses can't express how much i love this place read more

Baked goods: 5 STARS Coffee: 5 STARS Service: 2 STARS Walked in this evening in a whim, didnt even know exactly what it was but we saw a sign on the counter that said coffee so we thought we would check it out. Right off the bat, the woman behind the counter starts telling us about their coffee options. I was too busy looking at the pastries to hear the whole spiel but I caught the tail end of it, "we do not make frappucinos here. We're not Starbucks, we're better than Starbucks." Uhm ok, cool I guess? She then went on to explain how they were very coffee forward and their drinks werent sweet, but they could make them sweet if needed. We ordered hazelnut lattes, one hot, one iced. Asked for sugar-free sweeteners and was told they were fazing it out because it wasn't profitable. Sooooo is that a yes or no? Asked for soy milk and immediately was told "No, it's not good for you. I really like the oat." Like ma'am, that's nice but the coffee is for ME to enjoy. And Im sure all these sweets are definitely not good for me either but I didnt hear anything about that for any of the 6 pastries we got lol. We talked about how you couldn't exactly tell what the location was for from the street, maybe a street sign would help as we have passed by numerous times to go to the Tres Pollos next door and never noticed it. "That cost money." Girl, just smile and nod. We dont need to know the backend of your business. Maybe some people find this personable? I found it off-putting. Final gripe is that upon walking in, I immediately asked about the cinnamon rolls. While ordering our coffees, I said I wanted a cinnamon roll. While browsing the pastries, I mentioned how I was definitely getting my cinnamon roll. When checking out, and mentioning that the coffees and cinnamon roll would be on a separate check we were told "No one told me" and the order couldnt be cancelled. Ok, thats fine. Except, I never got the cinnamon roll. Literally parked out front and almost went back in but it wasnt even worth it. I really want to like this place. But I have gotten baked good so many different times and they taste stale unfortunately. And for the iced drinks can never really get the same consistency. I'm so happy that this place opened up close to home! I get to finally be able to just walk over and get a cup of coffee and a yummy pastry :) the coffee is yummy and the pastries are super delicious, especially the orange cranberry muffin, best muffin Ive ever had, everything is made in house which makes it even better.
