For starters, she ran 15 minutes behind with her previous client and did not acknowledge or apologize for the delay when she began. Brows: There was no consultation for my brow wax---she just started waxing and went wayyy overboard. I felt the entire tail of my left brow get waxed off and she immediately said "I'll be right back." She left the suite and when she came back she started filling in my brows with pencil for several minutes. It wasn't until I got home and washed the pencil off before bed that I saw how truly HORRIFIC my brows looked. Uneven, unshaped, and just as I thought, my tail is missing. To make matters worse as she's filling them in she says to me "have you ever noticed your left brow is a lot thinner than your right?" No, I have never noticed that and no brow artist has ever told me that either. She said that because she knew what she did. Upper lip wax: she did FOUR passes on each area and there were still random hairs left. It should not have taken all that! It's like she couldn't get the hair off. She went over the same area wayyyy to many times and now my face is raw with bumps Upper leg wax: Miserable and painful. Soooo much grabbing and pinching because she could not get the wax to pull off. At one point she even said "I'm sorry, it's not you.." Her technique made absolutely no sense and I left with so much wax left on me that's still there after a shower.

You can't just trust anyone! I called over the weekend but they were closed due to the holiday and I was debating if I should just wait until the weekend. I was tired of waiting and called last minute after work. They were able to accommodate me last minute which is a plus! I was able to score an appointment with Annette who's the owner of the salon. She's super sweet and knew exactly how I wanted my hair after showing her several pics. She offered me something to drink (water, tea, hot chocolate, beer, wine, etc.) I was worried since I came so late in the day that the chemical smell would be really strong, but to my surprise I only smelled it when I sat down and the smell went away. I even sat next to a girl who was highlighting her hair next to me and the fumes didn't bother me at all. Annette made sure to not cut my hair too short so halfway through she asked what I thought. I guess I had made a face unknowingly or something with my tone of voice and she said what are you thinking? I'm glad she asked and I didn't feel uncomfortable telling her what I thought was missing. She understood how I felt and fixed my concern right away. My hair came out perfect! It was the perfect length and she made my hair look great like she also did my ombré but in reality it was just a haircut. Made me feel like I had a whole new do when I left her salon. It's hard finding a new stylist, especially one you're comfortable with. It was great chatting with her, I didn't feel like she was talking to me because she had to. Not sure how to fully explain it, but I've been to salons where it just didn't click with the stylist which made me feel like they didn't care too much about what they were doing to my hair. Although they only had 2 five star reviews I glanced through their photos and what caught my eye is they do some more modern hair styles and coloring. I've noticed since moving here to MI from CA that not a lot of women dye their hair ombré, or do balayage, even silver or bright colors. So that really stood out to me and I knew they would be a great fit when I want to color my hair. I also love the fact that they are close to my home and they open late! Can't wait to come back! Toner between facial cleanse, glycolic chemical peel, massage, hot stone, enzyme, face mask (in the packet). Face feels clean. The toner burns the eyes a bit. The glycolic chemical peel only tingled a bit on my chest. Didn't feel any tingling on my face at all. Sam is nice, she was able to fit me in last minute. She had to tend to customers in between, but she made sure I was okay. Calming music in the background during my facial. My face feels really nice and clean. The massage was the best part for me. It's a bit expensive, but the facial and massage was good. My husband was sniffing me when I met up with him after my appointment, he said he could smell the mothballs on my coat and everywhere.
