It smells like mothballs inside this spa or salon. Door was locked. This isn't such a great scent for a spa. Sam is doing hydration facial and glycolic peel for my face and décolletage for $200. The hydration facial is $150 and $50 for the glycolic peel for the face and décolletage. Toner between facial cleanse, glycolic chemical peel, massage, hot stone, enzyme, face mask (in the packet). Face feels clean. The toner burns the eyes a bit. The glycolic chemical peel only tingled a bit on my chest. Didn't feel any tingling on my face at all. Sam is nice, she was able to fit me in last minute. She had to tend to customers in between, but she made sure I was okay. Calming music in the background during my facial. My face feels really nice and clean. The massage was the best part for me. It's a bit expensive, but the facial and massage was good. My husband was sniffing me when I met up with him after my appointment, he said he could smell the mothballs on my coat and everywhere. The mothball smell was bad. The mothball smell wouldn't come out of my winter coat, my white alpaca sweater or my jeans or hair at all. Plan to shower and wash everything or dry clean afterwards. :/ read more

Not my favorite place. I've been here when it was in the 12 oaks mall and I really liked getting my eyebrows threaded here. They always made my shape nice and thick while still making it look clean. This was my first time coming to the new location and I'm less than thrilled. Firstly, the lady was not even going to take off the eyebrow product I already had on before threading, definitely a red flag. Secondly, I told her to make my shape as thick as possible, however, this is the thinnest my eyebrows have ever been (they actually look like twigs). Had a European facial here. It was advertised as 'relaxing', but what I got was a hard sales pitch for laser treatments and eyebrow threading. The woman wore gloves that crinkled and reduced the relaxing massage sensation as she quickly applied the different products. I won't be back. read more

I live in California but I have a few family members who are faithful to this shop so I decided to give it a try during my visit today! Wow am I impressed. I messed my eyebrows up terribly attempting to touch them up on my own and she fixed them wonderfully. I honestly have no idea how she was able to revive my brows, they look fabulous! Went back a few times after my initial review. Their new location is very easy to find. The sign is very large and apparent as your driving on Grand River. And the service has been consistently great. I also love that even if I don't make an appointment they are usually able to work me into their schedule with very little wait time. I came here for the first time yesterday to get my eyebrows threaded. I have never got them done before so I was a little scared. But I looked up places to go and I decided this one. I went with my sister and my best friend and I walked in (without a appointment) and all three of us were done in maybe 15 minutes. There were two people working there. It was painful but very pleased with how my eyebrows looked and will be coming back here again. I agree that it wasn't very peaceful as the noise from the mall was kinda loud but they had peaceful music playing so it wasn't that bad. I am rating 4/5 because even though we were not busy, I felt rushed and they barely said anything so I had no idea what to do even after I said "I have never done with before. This is my first time". Business needs customer service training skills!! My service was terrible! I visited the spa yesterday, 7/11/15, to have my eyebrows threaded for a NATURAL look and a worker, who was apparently inexperienced, left me looking like a clown with extremely thin brows. I complained to the owner/ manager and she acknowledge d that her worker did not give me the natural look that I wanted, but took her worker's side in the issue. The worker tried to ridicule me by saying that I need the fine hair on my upper lip threaded and didn't acknowledge that she did anything wrong. I have had my eyebrows threaded for years, but never encountered any problems until I visited this mall location. Potential customers should consider other locations for good service. read more

Terrible experience. Received my groupon massage today. Took 3 phone calls to book my appointment (they didn't call me back after my first two calls). I waited 25minutes passed my appointment time to be taken back to the massage room. Got there 10minutes prior to my appointment so waited a total of 35minutes. I have been coming to iShya Spa for eyebrow threading for over 2 years. While they were moving locations and closed for a bit, I tried another local place and was so unhappy with how quickly they rushed me out and the result. I went there for a Brazilian wax and I will never be back. My experience was disturbing and bizarre and i wish i had walked out. The woman who did my wax seemed nice but she did not know what she was doing. The wax took at least 3 times as long as any other time I have had it done elsewhere. The salon was not busy yet the room my Brazilian was performed in was very poorly lit. And she had no overhead light to use. Sure enough when I got home and took a look myself she had missed a good deal of hair that i had to go over myself. There were also some bizarre things that happened: I did wince quietly a couple of times when she pulled the wax off certain areas and her response was to jiggle my vaginal area with her fingers rapidly back and forth for a bit (yes, if this were a man i would have been very suspicious of his intentions, it was very, very strange). She also would blow with her mouth towards certain areas that she said were red (which is not just weird but unhygienic, as saliva can be spewed). Also, on two different occasions while i was spread eagle (partially facing the door) the owner or manager of the salon knocked on the door and asked if she could come in. When I looked at the esthetician and clearly shook my head no, she said "oh it's just (...forget her name), she wants to talk about the next appointment" and the women opened the door anyway with me completely exposed. Twice. I found this incredibly intrusive and anything but relaxing. Two other details that were not important but added to the poor experience: they give you nothing to drape/cover yourself as you wait half naked on the table for your esthetician to come in prior to the wax starting. And they don't apply or offer any topical solutions/serums after the wax is complete. And if you would believe it, the owner actually told me that the woman I booked my appointment with had been doing waxing for over 10 years, so these issues are not because she is new. read more

I had bump and sores on my face for days. Beware. I confronted the staff about the service, but they made excuses and said they've never had an issue like this. The owner personally threaded my entire face doing such a thorough job and explaining what he was doing all along the way. First Time I came to know, the Owner of a Spa Store can do the tailoring inside the store also. I called her and fixed the price for $80 for two blouses stitching. After when I go to collect the stitched blouse, she said a blouse stitching price has been increased to $15. She took the money in a very unpleasant way without giving me the bill and tax. Though she has the permission for only Spa, the owner of this spa is doing boutique work inside her store. I am not going to her store anymore. Very Very unprofessional.
