I came here and this place was open on Bunny Day of the holidays. I was so happy because the place looked clean and the staff was kind and pretty. I got my served menu quickly and the recommendation so I could be at ease with what I was looking to try. I was happy I received my service fast and that it was the right amount of spice for me. I would come again as a result of that day because I often find myself driving to gg for my Viet cuisine now there this spot that closer.

I have never had a bad experience here, ever. There's definitely a demand for the great food and service because there's almost always a small wait to get a table. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the food is always hot and tasty. You'll know this place is authentic not only from the trusting staff, but the music being played has the traditional Vietnamese acoustical instruments for that reminder after each bite you take. I often get the Bun Bo Hue, spicy beef noodle soup. I like to add a little fish sauce (concentrate from the glass bottle) and ask for chili oil. It's very good and I highly recommend you try it!

Ate here for the first time the other day and they serve big portions, tasty food, with good service. The large bowl of pho comes with plenty of noodles and meat, guaranteed to fill your stomach. The egg rolls were pretty good as well.

Came across this spot recently and we've been coming back regularly since! Very generous portions for everything, we had to take most of it togo. Can get a little loud inside. We ordered: - calamari: a bit pricey but huge portions and made fresh! Can say this was one of the best calamari I've had in a long time!! - pho with ox tail: the meat on the ox tail was literally falling off the bone. Generous portions of meat and even larger portion for the pho. Could easily share the large size among two people! - vermicelli bowl with pork: this was just alright. Very fresh but nothing too special. Very attentive service, highly recommend this spot

Located in a shopping center near church, Hubby and I stopped by for lunch on Sunday. An older gentleman greeted us immediately and placed us at a nearby table. Our drinks arrived quickly, and we placed our orders. The Spring rolls with shrimp were tasty with a good peanut-topped sauce. It was nice to see 3 sizes of pho to order. Hubby chose the medium Oxtail Pho, and it was enough to share and take some home. I liked the flavorful broth. I ordered the Bun with grilled pork and egg roll. It was good, but I would have liked the fresh herbs to be whole leaves and not minced. Nice grill marks on the pork, but it was a little dry. I love iced Jasmine tea at Vietnamese restaurants! Such a nice, floral taste. Our server checked on us to make sure we didn't need anything. Later, he noticed quickly that I was looking for service, and he refilled my tea promptly. When I asked for to-go containers, he packed up everything for us and gave me a fresh container of nuoc cham to take home. Ample parking in the shopping center lot. Good food and excellent service.

We had them cater our wedding as a late night eats option so our guests can sober up, and hands down they were the highlight of the evening. We had pho & boba catered and to this day we and our guests can't stop raving about it! Our wedding was last week, and now we're trying to figure out what kind of party we can have just so we can have them cater again! The broth was so bomb and all the meat was super tender. I'm pretty sure I had like 5 milk teas with boba back to back it was so good! The workers were so nice and helpful! Absolutely recommend to anyone and everyone!

I love this place I always come here for Pho with friends and recommend it to everyone. I am gluten free and have never had any problems with their Pho as the noodles and broth are gluten free and just make sure to get plain meats in it! Also love the pricing and the portions! Service is quick and easy for dine in or take out and it's always a good vibe inside.

I have been coming here for a few years now. Today I tried the combo vegetables and tofu pho. It was loaded with broccoli, bok choy, carrots, onions and strips of fried tofu. The broth was tasty and the small pho is very generous. I wasn't crazy about the tofu but it was ok. I probably will stick with another protein next time. The service is fantastic. The food comes out in minutes and they check to make sure you have everything that you need. The ambiance is not great inside or outside as it is small and looks like cafeteria seating inside and outside a few tables and chairs are located on the walkway in front of the restaurant facing a parking lot.

Does your bun rieu come with pork blood and shrimp paste on the side?

Is the tofu and veggie pho actually vegetarian or do they use beef broth?

Indoor/outdoor dining yet?

As you can see in the recent post. they have been having outdoor seating shaded, for past months. just give a call when you have questions

Is there gluten in the pho soup?

Yes, you can make your own gluten free pho, but that would be counter intuitive when you are in need or looking for soup with restorative powers. if that makes sense. but here I don't think so because its based off the broth.

Is MSG used in all the flavor broths? Some Pho restaurants don't use it in the veggie broth.

I don't believe so

Do they use MSG in the Pho broth?

Josh is correct, monosodium glutamate is quite harmless, very rarely some people are allergic to it. If anything the added sodium is not helpful, however the amount put into dishes is generally very small, a typical Asian or American dish recipe… Read more

It's a pretty calm and peaceful environment too for a smaller space, It wasn't noisy, which made for a really enjoyable, relaxing meal. They're definitely tougher critics than I am (as I don't have grandparents/family recipes to compare them to) but I'm always happy to tag along with them. The interior of the restaurant is small and I could see that it could be a bit tough to move around if they're busy. They also have little to no waiting area inside so if you aren't seated right away, chances are you'll be hanging outside in the parking lot. But we were there when the restaurant was maybe 1/3 full and we could move around easily & not feel like we were talking over other guests. The wait staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, but not so much so that it felt like they were trying to move us along with everything. I appreciated that. The menu is quite extensive. Yes, Pho is in the name but there are plenty of other Vietnamese options. I opted for the shaken beef plate. I wanted to get the version with fries, but my wife accidentally told the woman in Vietnamese that I wanted just the regular version. I guess I'll have to come back another time to see how it compares to one of my favorite dishes: Peruvian lomo saltado. However, I will say the standard plate I was served was delicious. Everything was well seasoned & cooked perfectly. Definitely one of the best bò lúc lắc dishes I've had in a restaurant in awhile. We had a good meal. My in-laws said the pho was fine. I think it tasted good. Our 3 kids slurped their bowls all up so that's a great sign. In all, if we're in the El Toro area & want some Vietnamese food, we'll absolutely be back.

I am giving this place a 5/5 rating solely on their pho (and bun bo hue)…read more Their broth was very flavorful and had a lot of depth for being free of msg! There aren't a lot of restaurant that offer bun bo hue, so I thought I'd also give that a try. I ordered the pho special, but swapped the pho broth for BBH because I saw another review on here mention they did that - and I am so happy I did! It was really tasty and flavorful with the perfect hint of spicy! I would say I'm pretty picky with food and I would bring my Vietnamese parents here. 5/5 on their taro smoothie. I like that it tastes like fresh taro. I don't really like when it tastes too artificial or too sweet, like the taro milk teas from boba shops. It's also extremely light. Super refreshing on hot days. For being a pho shop in lake Forest and not having to drive all the way to Westminster or bolsa. 5/5 on their pho 5/5 on their bun bo hue 5/5 on their vermicelli noodle dishes. I liked their fish sauce with the sambal 3/5 on the shaken beef (bo luc lac) they don't give you a lot and texture was a bit inconsistent. Flavor was good but wouldn't order it again for the price 2/5 on the chicken curry (ca ri ga) I'm used to Vietnamese curry being a bit sweeter and more coconut/creamier? It tasted a little unbalanced, not enough cream and too much spices (tumeric + cumin + coriander). Slightly salty and watery. I didn't like the chicken either . Service is good when you walk in to be seated and when ordering, but they don't always check in if you need water. You just flag them down. Not a big deal. I'm more interested in how the food tastes. I like that the inside reminds me of typical pho restaurants. Nice and simple. Here for the food! I'll be back!

The charbroiled pork noodles (bun) is a big portion with fresh veggies and generous with the pickled daikon and carrots. The large chicken pho hits the spot. The shrimp spring rolls are also solid. We only had an issue one time when the way they packed two pho broths and other dishes in one bag in such a way that it was precarious and spilled out everywhere on the drive home. I get wanting to conserve plastic bags but it wasnt practical or smart and they were unwilling to repack. To order takeout, it's the old fashioned way - by phone. They have a decent website but no option to order online.

About Banh mi, the same thing as you see in the picture the meat portion is too little in compare to bread. Most of each part was bread so tasting mostly like bread If not the meat itself was delicious when i tried separately. They didnt offer jalapeños or lemon. It's very warm and inviting. The service was attentive when I visited but it wasn't busy. One of the first things I noticed were the quality of the chopsticks. They reminded me of the disposable ones that came in paper packaging but with the paper removed. The wood was chipped in some places and uneven on the others. For a sit down restaurant in Spectrum, I would've expected better quality chopsticks or for them to have reusable ones. I'm a bit mixed on the spring rolls. The sauce is a coconut based sauce which isn't my personal preference but perfectly fine. The crunchy spring roll paper on the inside of the wrap is always a nice touch an appreciate for a variety in texture. However, the one choice they made that I felt like ruined the spring rolls was that they had seasoned shrimp in the spring roll. Usually a spring roll has a pretty clean taste that goes with a dipping sauce. As for the Pho, it was overall fine but nothing special. The texture of the meatballs was a little too fine and blended but that may be another personal preference. I prefer mine with a bit more bite. Overall the place is alright. At a 5, it's not a place I regretted going and still had nice food but a place I wouldn't consider visiting again. The price to quality and quantity ratio isn't there for a place as expensive as this in Spectrum.
