I must say they have the finest sushi around - I live just steps away on A1A and we not only eat at the restaurant often - we order in A LOT. LIKE A LOT A LOT! It's not a cheap restaurant but generally worth it - TONIGHT THEY BLEW IT! It's the little things that get under your skin. I just ordered my usual dishes which includes salmon sashimi with mango. The restaurant just called re an up charge, which is never an issue, but the way he went about it was snarky and rude. They know me and that particular order - it was just the tone and the fact that I drop A LOT of cash here. SHAME ON THEM.... The lack of "respect" was just wrong. We'll be back but FFS - so NOT COOL! read more

Tried the Lobster garlic. There were three pea sized pieces of lobster. Called waiter and told him dish had no lobste. His response there is lobster. I asked him to show me he walked away. Called him back and asked to talk to manager. Manager never showed up. To top it off they automatically added a 20-% tip which didn't show until after they ran credit card. The waiter spilled a drink down my back not a lot but enough to get my shirt wet. Happened to see manager on way out told him about the disj. He said why didn't you tell me. I told him I asked to talk to him and he never showed up. He said he came to check on our table but no one saw him. asking the others at my table all thought that most dishes lacked the main fish or seafood ingredient. I visited this sushi restaurant yesterday for happy hour and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. After being seated promptly and receiving my menus, I ordered the house Chardonnay. I'm a regular wine drinker, and the wine had a very sour taste and was obviously flat and spoiled. When I politely asked to switch it, the manager seemed visibly annoyed and stressed by the request. I then ordered a margarita, which was even worse. It appeared that the Chardonnay was simply mixed into the margarita rather than being replaced properly. The drink tasted terrible and was completely undrinkable. When my food arrived, I was shocked by how small the sushi pieces were. I ordered the Famous Roll, and the salmon portions were tiny. The fish also did not seem fresh. What made the experience even more uncomfortable was when the manager brought my food and asked, "Do you even eat sushi?" I found that comment inappropriate and confusing. Of course I eat sushi--otherwise I wouldn't have ordered it. Between the poor-quality drinks, disappointing food, and unprofessional customer service, I will not be returning. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had. read more

Fresh food, amazing sauces and cozy outside seating. They have a full bar and a decent selection of asian beers, including Sapporo Black. Even though our server was good today, service in general could get a little bit better. Either way I enjoy coming to this place! read more

Always on the hunt for the best local sushi spot and this one did not disappoint. We started with their lychee martini and the steamed pork dumplings which is a staple for a sushi experience in my books. Moved on the main course and ordered the First Love, Bangkok Shrimp, and Crunch Spicy Tuna Roll with two pieces of tuna sashimi. All were very good! Terrible Thai food, very sweet with no spice or fresh flavor. The "spicy" beef salad which should be made with fresh ingredients was premade with what seemed like canned tomatoes and not spicy in the slightest. Tom yum tasted like water, the blandest I have ever had. Green curry was salvageable with lots of pepper flakes added but the sauce was very thin and sweet. I visited Thailand last year and this food is an embarrassment to the cuisine, definitely will not be returning or recommending to anyone. read more

We took my mother out for her birthday dinner, and we're not disappointed. The outdoor dining area was open and had a nice light breeze. It was nice to be able to access the outdoor dining without having to walk through the inside of the restaurant. The food portions were generous, but not overwhelming. I got the shrimp tempura with rock shrimp on the side. It was fresh and delicious, and surprisingly very filling. The rest of my party also enjoyed their dinner. Service was prompt, and our waitress was attentive. It definitely felt like a celebratory meal. With the light breeze, it was very pleasant to dine on the patio. Upon entering, the place looked well-decorated in Asian decor with cozy/romantic red lights at the bar. The food did not live up to the ambience. My friend and I both felt that our dishes were just not that good. I had veggies in a white sauce which was thin and - aside from garlic - had little flavor. It's a shame because there are not a lot of restaurants on the lower part of the island and definitely very few Asian ones. Doubt I will go back. read more

Was in town on a business trip and on my last night ventures in for dinner by myself around 8pm. Was planning on sitting at the small bar however all seats were already taken. Walked up to hostess who asked "can I help you?" I was taken aback by the question but said that I would like a table for one. Wonderful service and ambiance. I enjoyed having a pianist play in the background. Highlights: The Bangkok shrimp was unique and outstanding! Would definitely recommend trying. Miso soup was great. Unfavorable Notes: The eel sauce had a strange taste (we tasted anise). I did not enjoy the bell pepper in the Tom yum, I have had it from other restaurants that did not add it to theirs. Solid Asian spot in Manalapan that has a bit of each Asian cuisine, ranging from sushi to pad Thai to stir fry. My mom wanted to bring us as she knew we loved Asian. I had the lychee martini, which was okay, and we shared the dim sum among 3 of us to start. That was okay too. Then, my sister and I shared 3 rolls, all of which were good but nothing special. Thaikyo is a good bet for a night out with a variety of eaters. They have vegan dishes, fish, chicken, beef and pork and offer mild as well as spicier options. They have a sushi bar and the sushi is excellent. I have never had trouble getting a reservation. It is busy but not jammed and they can often accommodate walk ins. They have a wonderful outdoor dining space to the side by Ocean Ave. The food is freshly prepared and the service is kind and attentive. Fine place for the family. read more

I like that the service is always fast with TWO sushi bars and a large dining room. Booth and round table seating. The ambiance is always relaxing. Not dark but definitely not bright. Just right. Soft music. Full Bar. No drink's specials price wise that appealed to me. But there are specialty drinks available. Great to get out of the sun. Or a pre bite to eat before going to Publix and spending more because you're hungry. Picks up around 6 or 630. They do accept Reservations. Beauty and the Beast Roll was awesome. We are huge fans of Asian cuisine and would probably only ever go out for Asian. Visited Thaikyo again tonite and it was great. Service was excellent, drink well priced, parking very easy, and atmosphere very nice. And then the food. Appetizers were delicious. Fried calamari and spring rolls excellent. I ordered the Soft Shell Crab and Vegestable Curry. Delicious.....all 6 of them!!!!!! The wife ordered the Shrimp Tempura Platter and it was big enough for both of us. Also had 6 delicious shrimp, onion rings, broccoli, and sweet potato. Dining partners who eat here once a month had Fried Rice and the Sesame Chicken and loved it. Found that, while not inexpensive, and in current environment, the prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Highly recommend and look forward to going back and trying new dishes on the very extensive menu. read more

Anyway I walked in and check out the menu to get the food to go because there was a nature preserve right across the street so I was gonna grab my food and go on a walk quick. . . Then eat it. Well, the walk was great, but when I got back in the car, I opened the Buddhas delight to find HUGE mushrooms, the stalks of broccoli, and no veggies except some carrots. Overall, food is good and fresh, but service is random and heterogeneous; you might get your dinner orders all at the same time, so food becomes cold while you're eating it, or you might get the appetizer while the rest of the table has nothing to eat. Maybe the staff is overworked, but lately the whole experience is not great. It's a pity, because this used to be a reference point in the area. I hope they'll do something about it. read more

Sat at our table with no acknowledgment, waited for a drink that never came, and received awful service from the waiter. The waiter kept walking back and forth ignoring us. Sat for about 45 minutes and waited. Reservation was at 7:30 and at 8:30 , we were still with our water. When we brought it up, the manager was rude instead of addressing the issue. On a trip to Florida the family and I dropped in for dinner. And I must say it was an amazing time with amazing food and incredible service. We actually ended up here via reviews from Yelp, And the reviews did not disappoint. Aside from dinner I came specifically to order the avocado bomb which I did not see on the menu. I showed it to the hostess and she was like no problem! yes we can still make that!! And make that they did!!! I ate it alongside the House Salad and rinsed it down with a couple of sips of my peanut butter old fashioned. We then ordered the Thaikyo Roll and Brother Roll... Pass on the brother Roll but double up on the Thaikyo Roll!!!!. For the main course we got the Pad Thai Shrimp and Drunken Noodle. The food was absolutely great the service even better I checked to see if we have one back home in my local area and we don't but I'm glad I got to enjoy it while I was out there I'll definitely go back anytime I return read more
