Egg rolls (comes with dipping sauce)
Rika M.

So happy to have a great Thai place in Penryn! We were pleasantly surprised to have such tasty food coming from a small food truck. We live about 10 minutes away. We put our order in online, drove to get it, and it was ready when we arrived. It's so easy to get on and off the freeway to reach this place. We ordered the drunken noodles, egg rolls and coconut curry soup which came with rice. Everything was hot and tasty. The owners are very pleasant too. Nice seating area, although we took our order to go. They have live bands that play here on some weekends. Check their Facebook page for more details. It's a quick drive even from Roseville or Auburn; just hop on the freeway. Nice, pleasant spot in the country away from the big crowds.

Great little food truck next to the produce stand by the freeway at penryn exit. Authentic Thai food and nice people, will come again.

Excellent food and interesting place to visit. I only wish food is not as hot when it comes out. There is a nice produce store there as well. I love drunken noodles and curry pork. Their Thai tea is the best!! If you are not hungry, I suggest at least stop for coffee and tea. They are at a very convenient location, just off the 80.

There menu is nicely laid out, and not cluttered.

From our very…read morefirst call, they were so kind, thorough, and organized that we knew we were in wonderful hands. We hadn't even had a chance to try their food before our wedding, but between their glowing reviews and the care they showed us from the beginning, we never once felt stressed about our wedding dinner. They worked with us to make sure we had pizza options for every guest, and the food was such a hit! We heard so many wonderful things from our guests, and we even had requests to take home leftovers the next day. One of the things we appreciated most was how thoughtfully they took care of us as a couple. They made sure my husband and I placed our orders ahead of time so our food would be ready for us amid all the excitement of the day. Being able to actually sit down together and enjoy our wedding dinner meant so much to us. Our only regret was missing the cocktail hour appetizers because everyone kept telling us how incredible they were! Thank you, Bella Familia Pizzeria, for putting so much care into our celebration and giving us and the people we love such a delicious, memorable meal!

I'm giving just 4 stars because the honey was sweet but not that spicy and the jalapeño was more of a bell pepper - also not that spicy. But the thin crust was good and I didn't have to wait too long. Service was inviting and informative. I liked that they had a buzzer to tell me when it was done which made it more of an appealing vibe. Other food trucks had people waiting around for the name to be called - the buzzer is WAY better. The food truck itself is gorgeous. To see the wood fire over from the big windows was super cool!

First let me say even though I love most vegetables and some plant based items, I still enjoy meat. I decided to give Vegan Circus a try. Ohhhhh my gosh! I ordered their Big Top Burger. (Thank you Andrea (the owner) for accommodating my condiments request.) The burger was delicious and very filling. The toppings were very fresh and the mustard was specially made by Andrea as well as the seasoning that was sprinkled on the chips that came with the burger. The soft, toasted pretzel bun was a nice surprise. The texture, taste and overall flavor of the burger was so good. I found it hard to believe that it wasn't a beef burger. Their overall menu looked delicious. It has a variety of food that would accommodate most anyone. The customer service was excellent! Frozen In Time has three sizes: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Usually when it comes to desserts I have a bottomless pit of a stomach, but the lunch is the perfect size for me. They have a HUGE variety of flavors and fun combinations of flavors with cute names like Shark Finn, Godzilla (my personal favorite!) and Silver Fox. All of their syrups are homemade and taste phenomenal and very true-to-flavor. Sometimes you get those cones where the flavor is off -- the bubblegum is faint, the lime is too sweet, but their syrups are perfect. They also have a unique "cream" you can ask for (I believe it is 50 cents extra) that is AWESOME. The cream comes on some of the flavors already, like Wedding Cake (which yes, tastes identical!), but I prefer it on the orange flavor for a creamsicle, or root beer for a float flavor. SO AMAZING. The owners are lovely, SUPER friendly people who always have a smile on their face. In summers past they've seen me nearly every day, sometimes multiple times a day because I love them SO much. Nothing beats freshly shaved ice on a hot summer's day, and honestly, while I love Taylor's across the street, sometimes the idea of ice cream is too heavy for the heat, so shaved ice is the perfect pick-me-up. Give them a try!!

Starf*ks eat your heart out on cool size names! Did I mention they have like 39 different flavors? The usuals like cherry and lime...OR how about something fun like Wedding Cake, Silver Fox or maybe some Cotten Candy? oh and then with any flavor you can add cream...if you dont care about the bonus calories? which you shouldnt cause its freakn yummy tasting! Located in downtown Loomis in front of the Blue Goose Produce market thingy, in a cute little RV :) Oh and be sure to hit them up on Saturday mornings when they are there for the farmers market. Added bonus...the owner, Kyle, is a total cutie :)

Perfect location because I had time to see them, and decide if I was going to make a stop. I pulled up to the massive set up. The big truck with 2 smokers in back... it was a bbq lovers dream to have a set up like this.. not too mention this is the only one of its kind built like this. I parked close and skipped past the menu and went straight to the man in charge today. This is where I met Ash. I'm not sure how long he was here, but he was busy. In fact, I hope I wasn't crowding him by watching him slice the brisket, making sandwiches, cutting ribs... it was satisfying to watch. After he finished that order, I mentioned that I remembered seeing Buckethead BBQ in local competitions. They have a location in Roseville that they do the cooking out of and you can call ahead, order online, and even show up. It's first come first serve, so get there early! I went with a brisket sandwich (bc I saw it had a good amount of meat on it when I watched him make one) and 3 ribs with a side of their corn salad. He was fast and added a ramekin of their bbq sauce in the box. I jammed home to enjoy a few bites before heading to work. The ribs... are by far some of the best I've ever had! In fact, I'm so disappointed in myself that I only got 3! If you know me, I am a rib connoisseur... and let's just say you are missing out if you don't make a stop at Buckethead BBQ. Fantastic fkn bark. Good smoke ring. Tender as hell, with just the right pull from the bone and perfect seasoning! I like that they put a good amount of meat on the brisket sandwich. Ash topped it with delicious coleslaw and a good drizzle of bbq sauce. I first pulled a slice of brisket out of the sandwich and played with my meat. Yes, I played with my meat. I did the test. It was flexible and pulled apart so easily. Super tender and had a good amount of fat on it... not too much. That's when I started dunking into one of the best BBQ sauces I have ever tried. It was sweet and savory. You can really taste the fruitiness in it, which is my favorite kind of sauce. Smokey... savory... and sweet. I had to force myself to stop eating the sandwich... knowing I was full, but my stomach hadn't registered it yet... plus, the thought of enjoying the rest of my sandwich tomorrow kept me going. Needless to say, I was late to work bc I was indulging in ribs and my brisket sandwich. I'm looking forward to finishing it tomorrow if my daughter doesn't get to it first!

Barbecued meats are somewhat difficult to review because there are many different regional styles and ways the meats can be presented. Many folks love their ribs to be "fall-off-the-bone", but as a KCBS certified barbecue judge, I can tell you that style is not considered competition-worthy. Some like their brisket tender but lean; others find the fatty pieces to be the most flavorful. What I can tell you for sure is that if I had come across the ribs, brisket, and chicken that I had the pleasure of eating today at an official KCBS competition, I would have given top scores to all three. Excellent barbecue, all with the perfect amount of smoky goodness and tenderness. I had the pleasure of meeting pitmaster/owner Dave and his partner Ash. Really nice gentlemen who are deservedly proud of the top-notch barbecue they are serving. They are happy to answer any questions you might have, and they definitely do know their barbecue. Service with a smile makes for a fun experience. One of my favorite kinds of discoveries in restaurants is finding a place that, from the outside, doesn't necessarily promise much. Then you decide to give it a try, and WOW, it turns out to be great. And that's what you will find with BHBBQ. It's a simple stand with an awning, sitting at the very back of a large Raley's parking lot (and easy to miss if you don't know where to look), and from the outside it just doesn't look like it will be special. But BHBBQ is very special, and that is a lot of what makes this barbecue such a treat. One cautionary note: I just happened to find BHBBQ on Instagram yesterday and saw that they were going to be nearby today. They do travel, and so before you go hunting for it, be sure you know where they'll be. They announce their schedules on Instagram, Facebook, and on their website. They also have a phone number. But this one is definitely worth the search if you're into really excellent barbecue. We had the ribs, brisket, chicken, hot links, beans, and mac & cheese. Everything was top-notch. Tastes can differ, but I can definitely recommend this terrific barbecue experience.
