We went into Thai Valley with high expectations from the high reviews given. And though they were high, they were met and exceeded. Absolutely perfect. When we first walked in, we were greeted by a kind waitress and a very nice atmosphere. We ordered the Egg Rolls, Massaman Curry, Basil Fried Rice, Thai Fried Rice, and of course we couldn't skip Pad Thai. The egg rolls were wonderfully light and fresh, so much so that both my wife and I burned our mouth a bit. So just keep that in mind, but if you don't get too impatient, they're delicious. For the main dishes, they were all so spectacular. I didn't know Pad Thai could be so deliciously spicy. Everything had its own tasty flavor profile- whether it be nutty and sweet in the curry or spicy and savory in the Basil Rice. Overall, our experience at Thai Valley Kitchen was worth writing home about. And through our family journey of trying Pad Thai at each establishment, this one clearly took first place. Asian food is my favorite!!! I tried the pad Thai and the massaman curry. It didn't do it for me. The sauce in the pad Thai was too thick, it didn't have any peanuts, and simply had somewhat of a different flavor. As for the massaman curry, it too was also a little off, however I can't say why. We were passing through West Virginia on our way to Indiana. The town of Hurricane (what a great name!) was halfway so we opted to spend the night there. As an aside, we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express which seems to be the best option in the area. Perusing Google and Yelp, I saw lots of favorable reviews for Thai Valley Kitchen. Huh, in West Virginia? What the heck - we decided to give it a try. All I can say is "Wow". What a hidden jewel. Don't be deceived by the exterior or half vacant strip mall. The interior is open and cheery. The wait staff is accommodating and very sweet. We ordered a glass of Deloach Merlot, and they poured a nice size serving. For dinner, we shared egg rolls, the Tuna Tower and the Seared Tuna. Everything was delicious! We were both jockeying to get the last bite. The Tuna was seared on the outside and raw on the inside. It came with a mango salsa that matched perfectly. Now, I could go on and on about the tuna tower. It is a pile of spicy, tender tuna chunks on top of more chunks of avocado and mango. We could have eaten another one! I will say it was a bit zesty for us but that didn't stop us from wolfing it down. When we asked, the waitress did respond that they can make it less spicy - duly noted for the next time. Please open a restaurant in Ruckersville, VA! We need you! read more

I went here on vacation. The rest of my family went to Chipotle, but I read the reviews here and decided to wait. I'm so glad I did because the reviews did not lie. The outside is scary, but the inside is so pretty. I ordered out, and the wait was at most ten minutes. The staff were super friendly and nice. I waited 15 minutes to get back to our hotel and the food was still hot. Not warm, hot. The fresh rolls were so good and flavorful, and I liked that they had multiple sauces to go with it. I got the Chicken Pad Thai, and the chicken was actually bite size and plentiful. The sauce was amazing and so flavorful, easily one of the best Pad Thais I've had. We stopped in Hurricane WV on a trip North. Found Thai Valley near the hotel. Exceptional food. Nice staff. We had Tom Yum soup, Wonton Soup, Pumpkin Curry with chicken, and Drunken Noodles with pork. It was all top notch. The curry was amazing. Authentic Thai food. We were really hungry and the the lunch portions were huge! The chicken cakes were nicely balanced with the right amount of curry. The vegetable summer rolls were 3 very stuffed, yummy, ready for peanut sauce dippers. I could only eat half the Pad Thai which I had made with pork because the lunch portion was quite generous. They accommodated a request for no peanuts and substituted cashews which I can eat. The Garlic Pork was flavorful and the carrots and broccoli were not over cooked. Not excessively garlicky, again well balanced. We will make another trip out to Hurricane before we leave the Charleston area for the week. read more
