Yummy. I'm obsessed with their red and yellow curry. Also their pad thai is very good, and their spicy fried rice is so fresh tasting. Few things to keep in mind: Red curry is spicy all on its own. The one time we asked for it to be spicier was a bad plan since it wound up being waaaaay hot. Yellow curry isn't hardly spicy at all but tastes very good. I took my family to Thai Valley to try it out and give me a more well rounded perspective. We all agreed the main dining room was spacious and with it's light wood decor and big window was comfortable. My chili basil tofu was good--tofu was a soft succulent consistency and my mouth was not on fire. My mom thought her BBQ chicken was moist on the inside and crisp on the outside, but lacked strong BBQ flavor. In fact, that was pretty much the same critique around the table...the garlic and pepper tofu, the panang curry, and the Bangkok fried rice were all cooked to the right consistencies and textures, but weren't as flavorful as we would have liked. I asked the waitress if they added MSG, and she says they don't. I like that, but they probably need to find another way to make the food tastier. Because of the nice ambiance, I plan to take my family and friends here after our wedding rehearsal, but I'll be sure to tell the waitress to add a little more flavor. read more

It's very hard to find a Thai restaurant that can also cater to a Diabetic. The won ton soup was interesting: with it's lemony twist. What I really enjoyed was the Chicken Coconut Curry. I often eat Thai food and based upon the Yelp reviews I honestly did not think I was taking a big risk to eat here. I also do not like giving small restaurants poor reviews. However, I would have appreciated other Yelpers warning me that the food here is bad. I customarily ask, upon going to a restaurant for the first time, what they think is their specialty or recommendation. She looked at me like I was crazy. I explained that I like Curries and pointed to the Curry section on the menu. She recommended I select one of the Curry dishes. Very not helpful. I asked for a Chicken Red currry that was spicy. I explained that I like hot and spicy food. I explicitly stated "not medium spicy" but "more then medium spicy". I received a red curry that had little flavor. The curry sauce had the consistency of colored water and there was ZERO spiciness. I requested extra spices. I was hungry and ate. The rice was also not prepared well. I do not appreciate poor food and people who do not listen to basic simple instructions. The place was empty - that should have been my warning sign. You have no been warned. read more

Great first experience. You wouldn't know this place is as nice as it is inside from the sign outside. The ambience is great and clean. The service is good, the food didn't take long either. The only slight negative is that what I ordered was a bit confusing. I ordered the egg plant w ground chicken thinking it was the lunch special, but it's a full order even after I asked what the difference was... Just a little confusing... FYI. It was delicious! Very fresh and the flavor is spot on and not greasy. I asked for spicy and it was the perfect amount of heat. I'll be back to try the lunch special version to see what the difference is. read more

My husband and I ate here for dinner last light and I still taste the food. Too greasy and too sweet. The pad thai was mushy. We used to go to Chiangsan in North Hollywood, and it was much better. The hostess/waitress wasn't very friendly, with her occational forced smile. But the place seemed clean. Diet coke from a can for $2.00? I don't think so. We live in Chatsworth, but both Les Sisters and Los Toros were packed, so we tried Thai Valley. That will be the first and last visit. read more

Just wanted to point out that - four years after my intial visit, with Hot Fiancee now being Hot Wife - this is still our favorite Thai food place in the neighborhood. The place is consistently empty, so it wasn't so odd that first time, although it makes me very worried. I want this place to stay in business, and I have no idea how it has all these years with near-empty dining rooms at dinner. Maybe they do some crazy lunch business? Well, come and give your money to them so I can continue to have drunken duck noodles and red curry and mango sticky rice. Also of note: we've become vegetarian since we began eating here years ago - and this has had no impact on our review. It's a good family owned Thai restaurant in Chatsworth. The service is nice and my friend and family have been going for years Hoever after being married to a Thai woman and eating at more authentic style Thai cuisine, I come back especially with my family friends who want everything mild and it is just bland to me. The upside it, they will make things spicy and flavorful so FYI just ask and you are good to go. They have been in business over 25 years for a reason. This restaurant is near my office and come here often for lunch. My favorite is the ginger and mushroom chicken and their portions are just right for the right price. You leave content, not too full and not hungry. The waitresses always greet with a friendly hello when you walk in and they seat you promptly. I love the atmosphere and of course the food. read more

Great appreciators of Thai cuisine during our long lives, we of course, have experienced food at many other restaurants, but we have found that they don't compare. In fact, after we moved out of the area a couple of years ago, we tried many Thai restaurants in our new location, but they were terrible. Using too much fat to try to enhance flavor, the food was heavy and not appetizing. Thai Valley doesn't do that because their cooking is refined, using appropriate spices and cooking techniques. This place is ok, I would not drive out of way to go there nor would I recommend it. I work close by and this is the perfect place for a quick and cheap Thai lunch. I would not recommend the pad Thai way to sweet and served with a side of rice. The green curry is just ok, make sure to ask for medium spicy even if you used to eating spicy, the food can get very hot. Yelp can be a best friend to any business or a killer if someone wishes to be harmful in their review approach. That said, I decided to write this review on Thai Valley based on my honest experience with this little restaurant in my local area. As my husband and I travel around our area quite a bit for business, we tend to be forced to eat out quite a bit. It has become a part of our lifestyle. Because of that fact, we have eaten at a lot of places around Southern California. The hardest thing for us is to find a good place to eat in our own local area, mainly because the restaurant selections are terrible. When we found Thai Valley, we thought we had found a great place to go on a regular basis. But sadly, that is not the case. We have stumbled into yet another establishment that does not take pride in serving its customers. I will say this: the food is good for what you get. Decent prices and good flavor. They do take some pride in what they serve, but the portions are small and the attitude is HORRIBLE. In our last visit, they didn't check on us once during the whole meal. They had a total of about 4 other customers in the place, so it wasn't even busy! We were completely ignored the entire visit. But they showed up "Johnny-on-the-spot" when it came to handing us the check! Wow, the nerve of these restaurants! My husband and I have made a pact we will no longer support proprietors that do not take care of their customers. If we ran our business that way, we would be out of business. So I ask the question: Why should any of us pay out our hard earned money, including tips, to those who do not care about their customers? And when did rudeness become acceptable? Why should we continue to reward bad behavior? I will never understand this. With the economy being what it is, wouldn't these restaurants be grateful for the business? I guess not. We will never return to Thai Valley again, based on the terrible attitude displayed. Very disappointing. read more

Thai valley is so special. I'm an out of state student, so every time I come home for a break, I always have to get Thai Valley Pad See Ew at least once. The staff is so sweet and they always remember my mom and I. They are always quick to take our order and always make sure we have everything we need. The food is so good, the prices aren't bad, and the portions are large enough that we always have leftovers for another day. The atmosphere here is so peaceful and relaxing. Very disappointed. I ordered from this restaurant for the first time because I saw very good reviews. This meal was going to be the last meal for my daughter before her surgery and she will not be able to eat solids for two weeks Well, I was so disappointed. I ordered a special item that I indicated I wanted spicy at level 10. They did not add not even one chili or anything. My daughter ordered a broccoli-based dish and asked for extra broccoli. Well, they charged $2.50 extra, and NOT one broccoli was in the dish. It actually looked like Greens nothing like Broccoli. Also for an order of $117.00, they did not even include any soy sauce, no hot sauce, and I have never seen an Asian restaurant not give a fortune cookie. Yes, not one fortune cookie. This is the best Thai restaurant I've been to too. The prices are reasonable and the portions are good. The pad thai is the best I've ever tried and so is their pineapple rice.
