Crispy roll
Howard H.

Binghamton was not a place where I thought I'd find halfway decent Thai food. Located in downtown Binghamton near their cluster of restaurants, Thai Time is a pretty nice spot that has a dining room, bar and even outdoor seating on the water if you're in the mood. The decor is nice and has the nice touches of Thai artwork hanging on the walls. The menu is eclectic - lots of Thai dishes and even more sushi. I suppose in a place like Binghamton, you want to cater to as broad an audience as possible and offer dishes that are well known to those less familiar. Good thing that both sides of the menu are pretty decent. Their drunken noodles were really good and I like the fact that they allow you to customize the spice level (I told them to make it as spicy as possible and it didn't disappoint). Sushi was also better than expected. Prices are fair and service is incredibly friendly. Parking can be a bear in the area but that's about the only downside I could think of. Great find in Binghamton.

Spicy Basil

I got the spicy basil with my choice of meat, chicken, and Bangkok garlic, also chicken, as well as crispy Thai rolls. Both my main dishes came with a variety of stir fried vegetables: corn, snow peas, broccoli, cabbage, carrots. All of it was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The Bangkok dish was sautéed in garlic, and it was very garlicky and full of flavor. Their pho looked great, but I ordered this delivery from a hotel room, so it wasn't practical. Order was fast and correct through DoorDash. Dishes come in spice levels of low, mild, medium, hot, and very hot. I got "hot," and it was very spicy, but not unpleasant. Not Americanized in my opinion. They also had had curries, various dishes with poultry and seafood, rice dishes, and other staples. Great flavors, good value, definitely try it.

The empress cocktail

This place is not much to look at from the outside but you will be pleasantly surprised when you walk past the hostess stand and into the main restaurant. I ended up sitting on the balcony overlooking the Chenago river. The food was 7.5 out of 10 (it would have been 8/10 but the green mussel garlic appetizer was not as warm as I would have liked). The Babcock ocean entree was delicious. I didn't really care for The Empress "mocktail", but later found out it was the cocktail, which includes the stoli blueberry vodka (my server was new and it was an honest mistake). They ended up taking it off the bill. Overall, I thought this was a hidden gem and plan to come back in the future.

Seafood pho with shrimp, scallops, mussels and squid. The broth was excellent with hints of lemon grass

A delightful combination of excellent food and service. We had lunch on the patio which has umbrellas to shade the tables. We shared an appetizer of spring rolls. I had their seafood pho which was excellent. We also ordered a beautiful salad with chicken and shrimp.

The food was good, but there were an awful a lot of fruit flys. Service was good too but took a long time for food to arrive. It was enjoyable and they played ambiance in the background. if you have the time to wait i would come here.

Drunken noodle ( the noodle was a little mushy and over cooked)

The food here is pretty good but quality has gone down a little. They have pretty good options. The sushi is pretty okay too.

Summer Rolls

Best when the food comes piping hot straight from the kitchen - tonight did not disappoint! Pad Thai is a heaping feast that easily ensures leftovers (yes, I have had it as a single meal). Wait staff in a post COVID world can be uneven but tonight was very smooth. Limited wines by the bottle (4-5 per color) - likely broke rules with full-bodied 19 Crimes Cab but I was happy. Summer on the patio is spectacular, inside by the bar has good vibe, corridor to the back feels like an old-school Asian restaurant in its own right.

The food is above and beyond expectations.. service may not be as quick as one might desire, but damn it's worth it to wait

Enjoyed the evening at Thai time with friends. The food was excellent and our server Allison was the best! Looking forward to returning.

Delicious pho and the patio outside by the river made the whole night even better for us.

This little roadside restaurant in the lovely Town of Franklin, NY is 100% outstanding…read more Tasty food options, awesome cup of strong coffee, Wonderfully decorated both street side, back yard patio and interior space. Wonderful touches like antique salt and pepper shakers, candle light and a fine little garden. Service was spot on. Fine place to take a date. I did and you should too.

My family and I drove upstate this weekend and we decided to stop by The Tulip and Rose for lunch…read more We were excited for a good meal as we always pass by the cafe but missed their open hours. The waitress initially seemed friendly and came to take our drinks orders. I mentioned to her we are also ready to order food. She put on a stern face and started wagging her fingers in front of of my face and said " that is not how we do it here, you ordered drink first and I'll come back later to take your food orders. There are 7 people ahead of you and the chef has to cook for them first". I was stunned and shocked to hear such mean response! If I was alone, I'd march out of the restaurant immediately but my family was there so I stayed and tried to keep my cool. Every process took sooooo long from ordering drinks, drinks came, ordering food, food came then another big disappointed moment- the hyped up fish and chips with greasy battered, mushy fish and filled with ammonia scent as in spoiled fish. Overall, it was a very bad experience. On a good note, we can now say- never again The Tulip and Rose.
