Thai spice is the best thai restaurant in Fairrfield country. The food is Authentic, fresh, and of couse DELICIOUS! The Lime Chilly Shrimp is out of this world! I love Duck Salad and their Pad Thai. The food here is hit or miss (the range is below average to very good), but when it's good, it's very good. Spice is usually adequate--if something is marked as spicy on the menu, it's generally spicy enough, though YMMV. Personal favorites include basil beef, basil chicken and cashew chicken (make it spicy, as this one isn't listed as such). On the down side, however, is the service, which has been an ongoing issue for some time. This restaurant has a very high turnover of employees and, although they're nice, they usually seem overwhelmed, even when there aren't many customers. Another issue is the excessive wait time. I always order the food to go, but it's rarely ready when they say it will be. Today at 5:00 p.m., for example, I phoned in an order of basil beef and was told it would take "25 minutes" (a long time to begin with). Twenty-five minutes later I was there, was told "it is nearly ready," then had to wait another fifteen minutes! Ridiculous. The people picking up food before and after me had the same problems with excessive wait times. I should probably add that the restaurant itself wasn't crowded at this time. If you order food to go, your best bet is either to order at some oddball time (e.g., 3:00 p.m.) or add ten to fifteen minutes to the stated wait time. As for myself, I've had enough and will be picking up my dinner at In Thai up the street. read more

No A/C when the weather was 100 degrees. Was sweating all the time. Asked for napkins to wipe off our sweat but they did'nt care; have to tell them twice. Service is sloow. This is the second time I have eaten here and overall the food has been pretty good for me. However, I came with a larger group of friends this time and found that the servers were extremely rude. You could tell there was a bad vibe and for whatever reason they did not like us. In addition, two of my friends ended up not eating their dishes because the vegetables had gone bad. Not only that but they used filler items in one of my friends curry such as lettuce and cucumber... When my friend went to complain they said they would give 10% off and only ended up applying it to her dish. This equated to about $1 off which I thought was a bit of an insult. Anyway, it seems the service could be much better, if I were the manager/owner I would sack some of the servers and hosts that work there. read more

I was looking for a place that serves thai food since I am not to familiar with the area I did a google search and found Thai Spice. I have just moved to the Norwalk area from upstate New York. After reading the reviews I decided to check it out. I took my wife and two children there. I ordered the basil chicken and my wife ordered the thai boat noodle soup and I ordered the chicken satay and shrimp fried rice for my children. The portions are large so you get your moneys worth and is very affortable. The food was delicous.The basil chicken is spicy just the way I like it and the fried rice was not greasy like some places also they give you a choice of brown rice. I was a little hesitant at first because it is small but don't let that stop you. The food is great and the staff is very friendly and polite. read more

I didn't get to try the food here, and the best thing I did was get up and walk out! We arrived at this restaurant and a waitress was sitting in the chair yawning. Not sure what she was doing there, looked at us with no acknowledgement. About 5 minutes later a waiter or hostess comes over and seats us. I look around and the table next to us is waiting for food to be delivered. I look at the menu another 5 minutes we close and hope we see a waiter. I look up and more guest have arrived and seated. The waiter disappears. No waiters or anyone is in the dining room for 8 minutes. I look around the dining room and every table is full. Some people have dishes on the table, others are waiting for there next course, the guy in front of us is waiting for his check and no one is in the dining room to take orders. Meanwhile the waitress we saw when we arrived is sitting up front. I look at my husband and I say let's get out of here! read more

Soup came in broken container leaking all thru house and half empty when realized. Chicken wings red and raw in center not cooked through. Pad see ew tasted like food cooked in old Oil, shrimp soft and meally. Food here has gone way down hill, this is second time for raw chicken and last time we order from them. read more

The mango curry chicken is quite good. I have also never heard any of my coworkers complain about any of the various dishes that they've tried, in fact, they all said how good it was. The service is good and the environment inviting. The only thing I can say that detracts from this place is the tight quarters especially when it's busy in there. This is a great place to go to if your looking for thai food. The price is right for the quality of food. Every time my aunt comes into town this is one of the first places she loves to go eat at. The chicken larb is fresh and the som tom is delicious almost as good as my grandmothers being laotian and thai myself. As another reviewer stated, the green curry here is excellent, and the traditional pad thai is delicious. All of the dishes I've tried have been very good and the variety of dishes is surprising. I really do enjoy the food here and used to order frequently without incident . My only issues are that the service for pick up and delivery lately have become a bit dicey. The past two orders in a row I have placed contained the wrong entree. In both cases, the receipt reflected the correct order, but the food was wrong. A word of advice, check the bag to make sure all items are accounted for before you drive all the way home (my own mistake). My complaint is not with the food, which is excellent. The Curry's, Pad Thai and the soups are top notch, the problem is with the management. I was there a few weeks ago with friends when a punk they were over-serving beer to, became beligerent and threatening to both customers and staff. The drunk jerk threw his packaged bag of food and trash onto the floor, squared off with a pickup customer and finally threatend us and about a dozen other people dining there that night, which emptied the restaurant completely. The staff had plenty of opportunity to refuse any more beer to this obviously drunk tool and when he finally went way over the "line" by threatening the room, it took management far too long to call the police. On top of that, I heard that they didn't press charges. I don't need this type of activity when I'm out with friends trying to have a nice meal, there are other Thai Restaurants (with better prices) that I will be going to. read more

My husband brought me to Thai Spice the other night as we had a great dinner! We shared the Chicken Satay, amazing - the chicken was moist and juicy, and then the Duck Salad which was really light but fresh and flavorful with a little kick to it and the Duck was crispy and delicious (they wouldn't share the dressing recipe but it made the salad) and I had the Lemongrass Shrimp which was awesome and hubby had the Beef Rendang which was delicious -we over ordered so we had leftovers and you get a lot - the pricing was great as well so really delicious, authentic food and I highly recommend - especially the duck salad! read more
