I really enjoy this restaurant on numerous levels…read more We have been there many times and the food, price, cleanliness, white tablecloths, and excellent service never disappoint. On top of all of that, the noise level of this restaurant is relaxing and pleasant! Lately I have been ordering the Paw Woon Sen noodle dish with pork, cabbage, bamboo shoots and bell pepper. It is so delicious! Indeed, it has to be my all time favorite Thai dish! The price last night for this fabulous dish was $17.00 and it is a very large portion. One word of warning, Thai food can be spicy. I like a moderate amount of spice. When ordering my food at the Thai Kitchen I ask for the "mild" level of spice and has been about right for my tastes. Folks more sensitive to spice may want to discuss the level of spice with the waitress. Go try this small, cozy, hidden gem in Independence! There are many reasons for their wonderful ratings.

But at least I'm able to post it now other than later. Life has thrown a Lot of me for sure. That awkwardly being included and whatnot, us girlies chose to have Thai food for lunch that day in between destinations and it was nothing But amazing! Everything was delicious and we all overate a bit now that I think about it. It's always hilarious to me when any of us allow ourselves to just Keep going. haha We all experienced food-coma for sure. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of our waitress, but she was super kind and welcoming. I hope to see her when I visit next time! I appreciate how private the tables and booths are in their restaurant as well. Privacy and space is very important to me.

Portions were really big and food was really good. Pad Thai was hot and the pad key maw was mild. Hot was hot. But the mild wasn't spicy at all. Sauce with the tiger cry beef was a little spicy, but really tasty. Definitely have lots of left overs. Word to the wise, if you like it saucy, order with extra sauce. Will definitely go back. Our usual place is the Thai Place on 87th in OVP, but we live in Lee's Summit so Mali Thai is a lot closer.

The décor was beautiful, soothing and perfect for a Saturday night with Lofi music playing in the background. Our initial server (the short haired one)'s responses made us feel inconsistent and unwelcoming because another server came to our table after taking the appetizer order as said the previous one sent her - we went through the whole spiel about our shellfish allergy and placing order again and then we saw her serving everyone around our table - So Weird! Appetizers - We got the fried spring rolls and chicken tom kha soup to start. The rolls were very crispy filled with lots of veggies and pork served with a sweet red sauce. Tom Kha soup was delicious as well - very hearty and spicy. Main dishes- we tried the tiger cry fried rice under Ann's favorites section of the menu, basil chicken fried rice and chicken Thai green curry. The tiger-cry fried rice was my favorite. We usually see tiger cry beef served as an appetizer but having that as a main course was so much fun to explore! The beef in it was tender and flavorful. Basic chicken fried rice and Thai green curry were more of classic dishes. The basil fried rice was cooked well with enough seasoning. The curry was delicious too and went well with the rice. My only preference was for the curry to be thicker and creamier because the sauce was watery. Overall, the meal was very flavorful and satisfying. I will be back to try more!

Been coming to Thai Spice for years now and have always had good experiences but tonight's carry…read moreout was a pretty pitiful display. When I was picking up the order, a young man said "I can ring you up" and proceeded to hold his hand out. I asked to see my ticket before paying to make sure everything was right and he seemed put off by the request. When I got home, my wife's yellow curry had pieces of potato and carrot in it that were totally raw. Not soft or firm, but totally hard. My chili chicken was watery and the chicken tasted old and rubbery and the veggies in the dish were also raw. The most depressing part though was the crab rangoon. I know they are usually smaller, but I didn't mind because they always had good filling. This batch tonight was embarrassingly under filled and for $10 I would expect to at least get a quarter of my moneys worth in cream cheese. To make it worse we found a stray hair in the to go box with the crab rangoons. Again, I love this restaurant and they could've just been having a rough night in the kitchen and front of house, but I'm not sure if my $50 ticket is worth what I am getting anymore.
