Lunch Hunan Pork
Christina F.

Area was bright and clean, server was friendly. Note on the front door advised patrons will pay surcharge if using a credit card. Prices on website and takeout menu need updated as prices have changed. Pork dishes start at 8.95 and go up a dollar for chicken and more for beef or shrimp. You are also charged an extra dollar for rice. My 8.95 lunch with rice cost 11.10 before added credit card charge or tip. Soup was good, meal was very average. Is definitely not the Old Wok I remember from Liberty.

I'm at a friend here for lunch on Sunday. They open at noon. Our server was Brie, who was amazing!…read more We started out with the Vietnamese spring rolls, which were good. I ordered the Spicy Beef Jantaboon which Brie recommend. It was absolutely incredible. Spicy but it didn't overpower me. I loved it and would order it again. My buddy got the Basil Pepper Beef which he raved about. Both of us agreed that we were missing out by not having gotten to visit. Lulu's Thai Noodle Shop sooner. It's very very good.

It is well decorated with bright thai (orange-yellow) colors and cultural elements as well. Our server was very profession and helpful in making recommendations. Food: Thai Hot Wings - Probably best thing on the menu, they're savory and sweet with a great crisp. 5/5 Yum Nua - Delicious thinly shaved beef seasoned with tumeric and served with vermicelli and veges. It lacks the fish sauce dressing to make it traditional but still enjoyable. 4/5 Beef jantaboon - Good wok flavor with authentic hot long peppers and copious amounts of beef. 5/5 Pad Thai - Solid all around, good sweet flavor and runs on the wetter side, the noodles were not overcooked and nothing stuck to itself. 4/5 Massaman curry - Was authentic in the sense it used crushed cashews but was other very bland, the potatoes were on the hard side, and the rice tasted par-cooked. 2/5 For those that was curious, a 3 spice is medium for anyone that is accustomed to heat. Overall I would give this place a 3.5/5, their appetizer game is probably stronger than their main dishes and their flavors in general could be amped up. I think you could find stuff on the menu you'd love like we did with the wings and jantaboon but it might take some trial and error.

It didn't take me long to order, I had to go with the namesake dish. It was hands down the largest pad Thai I have ever had. I ordered it hot and it was perfect! Just at the point where the heat teases you, but not enough to cover up the delicious flavor! It was really good! Great food, great service!

The décor was beautiful, soothing and perfect for a Saturday night with Lofi music playing in the background. Our initial server (the short haired one)'s responses made us feel inconsistent and unwelcoming because another server came to our table after taking the appetizer order as said the previous one sent her - we went through the whole spiel about our shellfish allergy and placing order again and then we saw her serving everyone around our table - So Weird! Appetizers - We got the fried spring rolls and chicken tom kha soup to start. The rolls were very crispy filled with lots of veggies and pork served with a sweet red sauce. Tom Kha soup was delicious as well - very hearty and spicy. Main dishes- we tried the tiger cry fried rice under Ann's favorites section of the menu, basil chicken fried rice and chicken Thai green curry. The tiger-cry fried rice was my favorite. We usually see tiger cry beef served as an appetizer but having that as a main course was so much fun to explore! The beef in it was tender and flavorful. Basic chicken fried rice and Thai green curry were more of classic dishes. The basil fried rice was cooked well with enough seasoning. The curry was delicious too and went well with the rice. My only preference was for the curry to be thicker and creamier because the sauce was watery. Overall, the meal was very flavorful and satisfying. I will be back to try more!
