We found a table for two and were greeted quickly by the waitress. She took our order, firecracker shrimp rolls, drunken noodles with tofu, and yellow curry with chicken. The appetizer came first with sweet chili dipping sauce and was crispy and delicious. Next the entrees arrived. The yellow curry came with white rice and was also very good. The drunken noodles were very salty, so much so my wife couldn't eat them. She took the whole plate with us so she could mix the dish with some plain white rice. The waitress was apologetic and actually provided the white rice. I'm leaving 3 stars, but would give another half star for 3.5 if I could.

Ambiance, food and service was out of this world for a wonderful price too. Albuquerque truly has a gem here.

With the menu board, it feels like fast food less sit down style. Service has changed as well. Now, you place your order and PAY at the counter and seat yourself. You are asked to tip before you receive service. tipping is supposed to be base on quality of service. You do receive table service once your food is ready. The menu has changed as well. We loved the jerky and sticky rice, now gone! Fish cakes is new but it was too chewy and dry with little flavor. Shrimp cocktail and dumplings were good. This was the only Thai restaurant in town that served good Thai rice noodle soup similar to pho. Sadly it's no longer the case. It was bland! Traditional beef soup included meatballs, now gone. They also charge ridiculous prices for some add-ons such as crushed peanuts $2.00 per order!! Really, for 2 ppl we could have bought a whole jar. Service ended up being good especially since we were the only patrons. I low balled the tip at time of order and ended up giving additional tip in cash. Sadly to say, it's off our list of favorite restaurant in town. Probably will not go back.

I had the Pad Thai, Pad See Eww (but it's quite the opposite of eww ), the crab Rangoon, and the money bags. So my absolute favorite item was the Pad Thai, I absolutely loved it. Arguably the best in New Mexico. The Pad see eww was also the best I've had in New Mexico. Neither compared to big city Thai food, but they were close! The crab Rangoon was the best crab Rangoon I've had in a long time, in any city. The way they wrapped it was clever, you could taste the cream cheese filling as you bite, it was great. The money bags was fine, the sauce was too watery I think that came with it which made the flavor run off of it quickly. Huge star bonus for their to go containers not being cancer causing styrofoam. For this alone I stopped ordering from other Thai places in town. Many states have banned styrofoam, it's very very bad, I'm so glad they don't use it.

Disappointing first experience…read more Why would you call a customer and not leave a voicemail? For a first experience with Tokyo Bangkok, this was incredibly disappointing. My husband picked up an order that I had placed online. About 30 minutes after he picked it up, I noticed I had a missed call from the restaurant. The only voicemail left was essentially, "It's like a robot." Yes--that's the call screening...but why not leave an actual voicemail explaining why you were calling? Since I was still at work, I asked my husband to call the restaurant. We then learned that the main item we had paid for was never included in our order. I appreciate that you offered a refund for the missing item, but my husband specifically asked if the missing food could simply be delivered since it was the restaurant's mistake, and that request was declined. That was particularly frustrating. If the restaurant realized an item had been left out, why not clearly communicate that when calling? And if we hadn't noticed the missed call or followed up, would we ever have been notified about the missing item? Mistakes happen, but it's how a business handles those mistakes that makes a lasting impression. Unfortunately, this was our first experience with Tokyo Bangkok, and instead of leaving us excited to order again, it left a very bitter taste. I hope this was an isolated incident, but better communication and customer service would have made a significant difference
