Picture yourself entering a jungle as you walk into the restaurant. Small alcoves are situated under the canopy of the greenery where tables await your presence. OR venture further to wooden decks jutting into the lagoon to capture the sunset. This restaurant's atmosphere is very welcoming and elegant. It is all outdoors and only open for dinner. Cuisine wise -- it is has an array of Thai and Indian cuisine. Which do have some overlap but differences in execution and flavors. Each dish is distinguished by the Thai or Indian flag on the menu. Sidenote -- my family is Thai and I have visited Thailand on many occasion! So we are sometimes picky... sometimes. Service wise, they are very professional and friendly. Anything we requested or had questions about, they tended to us pretty quickly. We ordered family style and chose the following: - Som Tum Goong Sod (Thai)-- which is papaya salad with shrimp. Very well done! It had a good balance of the saltiness from the fish sauce, spiciness from the thai chili pepper, and tanginess that you want from fresh lime/lemon juice. - Khao Soi (Thai) -- a curry dish served with noodles and fried noodles. It was a solid dish that left you wanting to slurp more! Be careful, it can be quite messy to eat and it will stain your nice white shirt (my shirt was sadly a victim by my own clumsiness). - Khao Pad Gai (Thai) -- literally fried rice chicken in Thai. Beautifully done! The jasmine rice was nicely crispy and not overdone or too soft. The flavors were not overwhelming and my parents were impressed! The one small thing is that we wish portion was 25% more. - Pla De Phuket (Thai) -- "Pla" means fish, and Phuket is, well, one of their famous touristy island. Regardless, the fish was crispy, moist, flaky, and the sauce was on point! Definitely a must if you like spicy and lots of flavors! - Murgh Tikka Masala (Indian) -- very solid curry and the accompany basmati rice was on point -- though a small portion. The garlic naan was warm, crispy, and very well done! The decor, plating, and experience was remarkable! BUT, you are paying for it too. The price is on the high end, and I'm sure getting the ingredients to make all these dishes add to that too. Portion size wise, it is conservative and enough. The best part of the restaurant is the ambiance. We had a nice private hut for two on the waters overlooking the sunset. The food was mediocre and small portions especially for the price. I'd expect more from a ~$17 Pad Thai. Drinks were also absolutely diluted. Again, you're paying for the views. I took off another star for the waiter. For some reason, he expected 20% gratuity. Then, when I said I'll give him cash instead of adding it on my card, he stood right next to me while I pulled out cash and watched me count it out. No big deal, but in my opinion, some questionable manners for a 'fancy' restaurant. For me, this place is a one time thing. read more

We have eaten at this restaurant for 10 + years, it has seriously gone downhill. Two couples were dining. One couple ordered an appetizer. The appetizer arrived with the other 2 dinners. After the other couple was done eating, our dinners had yet to arrive. We waited at least 30 more min. Waiters continued to say kitchen problems. We finally asked to see a Mgr. He also stated issues with the kitchen, since we had ordered one Thai and one Indian dish. Doesn't every table?? After 35 min one dish arrived, more waiting, then another dish arrived without it's rice or naan. Another few minutes for the rice and then another 5 minutes for the naan. By the time the rice arrived the entree was cool. Manager came by and offered one dessert for us to share. We declined since we had already been there 90 min. Clearly Management is the problem. No customer service and no real apology. So sad to see a favorite restaurant decline so much. read more

You get a private little hut on the water with a table for 2 overlooking the water with a padded lounge to lay on and mood lighting to boot! It can actually be found next to the Indian restaurant. (+) Atmosphere is the greatest thing about this place! You have a little 2 seater table with a small padded lounge with pillows next to it. Very nice! Although I have to admit, my heart did skip a beat when a crocodile started swimming around the huts! What a trip! (+/-) food was okay. Just okay. I have had much better Thai food in Vegas and it certainly can't compete with the food I've had in Thailand. They supposedly have an all Thai crew cooking the food, but I don't know if I believe that. (+/-) service was meh at best. The waiter seemed to be going thru the motions, would not engage with us when we asked questions and made jokes. Service was lackluster at best. I mean, at least he brought us our food, but side from that, not much else from him. (+/-) Satays were actually very good, just the portion size was pretty puny. I would have liked more of that. Beautiful location situated on a Nichupte Lagoon. Thai is located inside the la Isla shopping center just across from the Westin Lagunamar. We Reserved a semi private water bungalow for 6 through open table. We were promptly seated upon arrival. The bungalow is overwater and some have seen crocodiles, but we didn't tonight. Under the bungalow is an automatic timer that releases a natural bug spray. It was really funny because No one told us about it and it was a very weird feeling the first time it sprayed us. They also provide you with insect spray for the table just in case. No bugs Tonight because of the wind so we had no trouble with insects. The service and food were very good but not the best Thai I've had, but very enjoyable. I had the lemongrass fish which was GF. The flavors were delicious but watch out for the hot peppers. For those with a gluten allergy they do have 3 options on the menu that are GF and one salad. Definitely an wonderful night and I'd go back. My wife was booked the table well in advance as it gets crowded due to their popularity. we got superb hut and what an amazing view from the hut. if you have time, go there when its sunset time. our hut has the table for two and also the sofa for being cozy ;) not every hut has the sofa, I guess it has a table for 2 so they accommodate this. There was no light except some dim light and that makes it more beautiful, though sometimes it can be inconvenient as well for some patrons. we ordered our drinks, before that, order menu. they provide tablet and I did not find it useful. to be frank, we are so used to book menu as we can browse anywhere, but in tablet, you have to go all the way to back if you missed anything. we ordered Mojito Lichi, Mojito Kiwi. the waiter was courteous and fast. we enjoyed our drink on the sofa enjoying lagoon view in the night. it even rained for some time and becomes more beautiful. ( i was little scared as in reviews/pics I had seen alligators roaming in the water and our hut was right over the water) in menu, they suggested order soup as its their specialty. i ordered Tom Yam Goong ( Shrimp Soup) and Stay Gai ( Chicken Satay) and enjoying the time with my wife. it was just 5 minutes and server was there with our items. god, portion was so small, even kid menu has more portion. photo looks like it would be normal, but no, in real scenario, it was very less. my Tom Yam Goong ( Shrimp Soup) had only 3 shrimp and very less amount. same for chicken satay, it was so small stick. but food were delicious. my satay and soup were superb. The peanut sauce with satay went well with it! agree, the restaurant is very popular, and in high demand, but dude, serve food. they even justify in their menu, that we serve less portion so that you can enjoy more than one dish. dude, you are charging for every item, where's the logic. I ordered 2 more drinks so that I can enjoy my evening. coming to bill part, 20 % gratuity was added to the bill. I asked the waiter, whether its restaurant policy or what? he said, no it's up to me, then I asked for another bill without tip and I added 10 % tip on that. Also they don't serve water in the restaurant. i have read in blogs that one should be very careful with drinking water, but why restaurants don't serve drinking water, not sure. pesos wise, it is expensive. dollar wise, it moderate. Come for the atmosphere/setting but don't expect great things from the food. We requested a waterfront bungalow and originally were told they were all booked although persistence payed off and got in. Defiantly the way to go if possible although all their seating areas are actually very cool. The restaurant backs up to the aquarium within a high-end mall on the lagoon side. It's one of three restaurants of different cuisines that are all owned/operated together. I didn't notice until I left but the bar at the entrance has window with that looks into the dolphin area of the aquarium which was very cool. But now that we have discussed the atmosphere let's talk food. Two words come to mind FRIED & GELATINOUS. spring rolls aren't supposed to be fried like an egg roll are they? Well apparently they are here and pad Thai ...gloppy mounds of noodles lackin flava or interest. So in a coconut shell. Come for the nice setting and request a waterfront cabana but don't expect fine dining. The service was very good. So it did have that going for them. read more

Food is passable and OK Thai food. Spicy indicators are not on a Thai spicy scale. Their spicy indicator says hot, but it's mild. The main concern is with items the wait staff assured was gluten free. If you have a true gluten allergy reaction, be wary. Their gluten free option either had a hidden gluten ingredient or was not prepared in a separate area than gluten items and was contaminated. Wife had a distinct reaction to her meal. Restaurants advertising gluten free need to understand it is a real allergy and not a fad diet for Celiacs. Reactions to exposure are uncomfortable at best and health threatening at their worst. If you're Celiac don't trust it. read more

Thai beautiful restaurant! Very tropical and Southeast Asia style, which remind me of Bali. Each table is under a little cottage, very cozy and romantic. We saw some seaside tables were over water with great ocean view. It would be stunning beautiful when sunset. If you would like to sit on these seaside tables, I think you'd better make a reservation in advance. Food is so yummy too! My husband said it was the best Thai food he ever tried(though he haven't tried many Thai restaurants before:) Top one on my list is the naan with black lentil (they are actually sides with the chef plate:) we ordered the garlic naan for many times. So yummy dipping the black lentil soup. My second favorite is the curry sirlion. The curry was a little bit spicy, creamy and tasty with rice, much better than with the beef. I do not like the sirloin part. It tasted like chicken. We also had the chef's kabob plates, with kabobs of shrimp, chicken, lamb and four flavors of dressing, delicious! Oh me, oh my. You gotta come to Thai!! This restaurant is situated right by it's sister restaurant Elefanta and it's a wise choice to dine at both which my mum and I did. This place is best for a romantic meal with the one you love! If you come at night it is really sexy! Lighting is dim, it overlooks the water, and it is cozy and romantic. There are plenty of pillows in the private huts ( They have private huts for every party!!) to keep you comfortable and the way the huts are set up there is plenty of privacy! The dress code is fancy casual I would say. You won't get kicked out but flip flops on jeans would be a tad declasse. It's pretty neat to have a great Thai meal in Mexico. One could naively assume the only culinary option would be varying Mexican cuisine but there are a plethora of choices when it comes to world cuisine. Most of the nicer restaurants are pricey but you will still pay less per person than in the US. Cheers! All of the courses were excellent and perfectly seasoned. I also love that the portion sizes were moderate and the pace of the meal allows your stomach to decide if it wants another choice because your brain is going to say yes to the good food. We started our meal with a mango juice, Mexican Coke, stuffed chicken wings and minced chicken egg rolls. The chicken wings are stuffed with chicken and pork I believe and were incredible. They were served with a sweet barbeque sauce but I didn't need anything extra. The wings are fried to golden perfection. The egg rolls are also very good. For my main meal I had the lamb chops with yellow rice and my mum had the salmon with yellow rice. They had vegetables as sides but we didn't need that negativity in our lives. The proteins were cooked to perfection and juicy. We were offered dessert but passed as we were full. Let me just add that the silverware and plates were very classy. The staff are friendly and accommodating. They cleared our plates and refilled our drinks without being intrusive. They kind of were efficient while staying in the background. This restaurant accepts pesos and US dollar. FYI: If you are sat close to the water you may see an alligator pop up but I assure you they cannot get to you. Just don't feed those suckers!! If you want to dine in a spectacularly beautiful restaurant - the most beautiful in which we have ever dined - but pay outrageously inflated prices for minuscule portions of food that is good not great, then this is your place. The venue is spectacular and romantic. It is outdoors in a lush tropical jungle decor where you are seated in your own bamboo hut with a ceiling fan surrounded by lush trees, plants, and water. In fact, at least 1/3 of the huts are built right over the bay (but those tables smell a bit like a marina). The food was good but the portions were tiny. My pad thai was maybe the size of a deck of cards and my wife's rice dish was only slightly larger. They would be small even as appetizers. The chocolate and the coconut martinis were really tasty, but like everything else - expensive. $14 each. We asked for water and got a $14 bottle of Evian. No one told us that the water wasn't free or would be bottled. So, for an order of spring rolls, a pad thai, a fried rice dish, two martinis, and water, we paid $105 with tip (in US dollars). That would have cost $50 back home, but we wouldn't have walked away hungry. Our recommendation is to go for a drink. Ask for a table by the water or anywhere, then eat dinner somewhere else. We stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant while looking for an ATM on the Hotel Zona in Cancun. We wandered in hungry, enticed by the advertising. We were lead back further and further into the "wild" (vegetation on all sides) and found ourselves in a little hut on the water on the lagoon side of the strip. So quaint. The food was amazing and the ambience to die for. You will be very happy with this surprise delight. read more
