We tried this place tonight and I'd give it a thumbs up! We had egg rolls for an appetizer. It came with five and they were nice and crunchy. The plating was beautiful. I had mango curry with shrimp. Relatively small portion, but the flavor was just great. They have somebody in that kitchen who knows what they're doing with spices. They got the hotness level just right. I asked for medium heat, and that's exactly what I received, which is very unusual! It's pricey though. My dinner ended up being about $20 with tip and tax and I'm still kind of hungry. It was my first time ordering food here, I am visitor to East lansing. I ordered Basil Fried rice with extra Cashews, they charged me $2 extra for cashews but there were exactly 5 pieces of cashew, very few veggies or basil, all of the container was filled with just cheap quality rice. The food here tastes really fresh-- the noodles aren't stale or dry and the sauces are not ridiculously sweet. Food was the best in east lansing. We tried green curry, tom yum soup and fried spring roll. The roll was very crispy and warm. Tom yum soup was not spicy enough but still very fragrance. Excellent food I was in East Lansing visiting my MSU student daughter, I asked her where she would like to eat and I got the standard "anything that does NOT taste like dorm food" I had gotten Thai Princess as a recommendation from a co worker so off we went ! Lunch time on a snowy Saturday and we got the last table. Not a large place, but very comfortable. Nice selection on the menu. I wanted to start off with some pork dumplings... but no..all out So we each selected an order of spring rolls... When they came out I we were surprised that each order had five spring rolls.... not a problem because they were excellent. We finished 7 of them saving room for the main course. I ordered the Ped Basil Beef with med spice. It was very good. a light sauce with a little heat. The beef was very tender and the vegetables we cooked perfect. Warm but still with a little crisp to them. My daughter ordered a noodle dish with chicken, no spice. It came with a light sauce, very delicate and a green vegetable on top. She loved it and offered a sample to me. It was very good and I looked again at the vegetable and what I though were green beans were broccoli stems carefully cut and trimmed. My husband and I tried Thai Princess a couple of weeks ago. Since then both of us have been back with friends. It is a small & cozy restaurant decorated with nice taste. This place was unexpectedly delicious! It is in a location that does not seem like it would be so amazing, but when you walk in the doors it's like your in a different place entirely! Went to Thai Princess on Valentine's Day. When the waiter brought out my drink, there was a little heart sticker on the straw wrapper that he made sure to turn so I could read that it said "love" on it. The rice was pressed into a heart shape, and the spring roll dish was heart-shaped, too! It was a delightful experience. Great service. Delicious food! i don't usually like to write about a place unless i have a few photos because i think stories about food without pictures of that food is kind of boring and maybe also kind of pointless but you need to know about thai princess so i can't wait. this place is absolutely delicious. it is one of the best thai restaurants i have tried not only in the lansing area but pretty much anywhere. the first thing you will notice about this place is the awesome creative not just the basics menu. sick of pad thai and massaman curry and spring rolls? you are in the right place! here are a few examples for you: Apple Avocado Salad: Shredded green apple with cashew nuts, avocado and red onion in spicy lime sauce Peanut Curry: Red curry with ground peanut, bamboo shoot, eggplant, string bean, snow peas, basil leaves Soft Shell Crab Garlic: Crispy soft-shell crab with garlic, mushroom and pepper Coconut Noodle: Sautéed thin noodle with coconut milk, bean sprout, onion, and scallion in yellow bean sauce everything is prepared perfectly and they use a nice interesting authentic variety of vegetables. i had the pad khee mao and it came with chinese broccoli, which i love and have never gotten in pad khee mao before. service is attentive and prompt. one tiny complaint i have is that they did not ask how spicy i wanted my food and i didn't think to say and it came totally mild. so make sure you tell them what you want. even without spiciness it was still tasty. oh and you are also going to have to ask for chopsticks if you want them. the ambience is nice, the lighting is good and there are lots of pretty pieces of art and plants around. the prices are comparable to any other thai place. as for drinks, there is no alcohol and apparently lansing is not like cincinnati where you can just BYOB whenever it's not on the menu, so you are going to have to shotgun your singha in the parking lot. they do have tea though. one thing i am curious about which i am going to have to check out is whether you can get sticky rice with your meal. they have a few desserts with sticky rice so i know they have it. if i could get sticky rice with my curry i would crap myself with joy. read more

It's a fine line where heat compliments flavor instead of burning your palate to a frizzle.Thai Princess is a wonderful exception to the local rule. Of course there's heat...when you need it. Visited here Sunday around 1 pm. Ordered soft shell crab and pad Thai. Crab was a bit fishy, and could not be made spicy by the kitchen. Condiments provided helped some. The chicken pad Thai was perfect, as was the fresh roll we ordered as an appetizer. The service, however, was odd. Dishes ordered well after ours came out well before ours, and one of our meals arrived at least 5 min before the other. Even longer gaps were observed at other tables. Our waiter seemed rather distracted. The decor was fairly well done , especially if you like flowers. Large portrait of a Thai leader displayed prominently was an interesting cultural touch, but he could have smiled more for his picture. read more

I was excited with the prospect of having a good Thai restaurant closer to campus than Bangkok House, but, alas, looks like I will have to keep making the trip to the downtown Lansing area. I read the reviews here and was enthusiastic. I ordered lunch to go, red curry with vegetables (not a huge fan of fried tofu). I asked for it to be made extra hot, I'm a pepperhead. What I got was a container of very bland curried vegetables. Aside from the fact that the heat level wasn't even up to a mild at Bangkok House, the curry itself is bland. No flavor of galang, lemongrass, garlic, etc. The curry sauce is incredibly greasy, literally a pool of oil on top of the vegetables. The vegetables themselves were overcooked and mushy. The only thing that saved the dish is that they were generous with the holy basil. The salad and spring roll were nice. The soup had big wads of meat in it, so I passed. read more

I used to be a strict Thai Kitchen goer for years, but let me tell you that Thai Princess beats them on all levels, hands down! From the beautiful interior decorating to the spring rolls, pad thai, and thai tea. And don't even get me started on the mango sticky rice dessert. Sheesh louise, so delicious. On top of everything the service was wonderful. We got there 15 minutes before they closed and they were so friendly and accommodating, it was really a lovely Thai food experience.
