Place was clean and quant, quite a few people were in there on a Wednesday night. So that was a good sign for our first visit. We ordered a bunch of appetizers for dim sum. Thai iced tea, plus shrimp and beef pad Thai. Every single thing was amazing, fresh and cooked perfectly. Flavors were on point. The tempura apps were fresh and crispy, and the vegetables snappy. My only critique is, the curry puffs were way undercooked The crust was doughy and not crispy or flaky the way it should be. Lastly, we both thought it was way too bright in the restaurant, preventing any sort of ambience or date atmosphere. Service was good. read more

Stopped here anticipating a good Thai lunch, but found that the place is closed on the day that we arrived. Not an odd closing, this is a regular thing and it's not reflected on yelp. Just to start I think there is a great staff that runs this place. They are so friendly and service is fast and accommodating. I don't like leaving bad reviews but I have two bad experiences with takeout in the last month. I ordered Pad Thai the first month as I've had it before and it was extremely fishy. It was not like the previous Pad Thai I've ordered from them so it could've just been a fluke. The second time I ordered it was a larger other totaling $145. The spring rolls were great & fried rice is good. The noddles, duck salad , beef and garlic dish were all really bad. Extremely fishy. For the amount of money that we paid both times we were very disappointed. Unfortunately, everything is fishy but if you like that it's a plus. read more

Portions are small and they apparently charge you $3.00 extra for a little individual serving of microwave brown rice. Very disappointed in this place. It used to be very good but under the current management all of the portions have shrunk and everything is a "add on". Not a good place for a weekly lunch. Dinner for special occasions maybe. Finally a GREAT Thai food restaurant in Citrus County! The dumplings and the Larb Gai were excellent! The chicken satay was good, but it could have been served hotter. On the fence on the 4. They are better then a 3, ideally would give them a 3.5. Dumplings were homemade which is great. They were a little dry i the middle so the sauce was needed very fresh. Would have liked to have an order of 6. Style is more like shumai Tom Ka soup was very flavorable. Nice texture as well not too watery All the vegetables were excellent in bit dishes; not frozen but fresh. They were busy and were turning away takeout orders. Small place with about 15 tables. Stopped in here for lunch when the first opened today. No one was there yet, so we could sit wherever we wanted. We were served promptly. We ordered Thai tea (our usual) and Tom Yum Soup. The soup was too sweet and not spicy and sour enough like it should be. I ordered the black pepper garlic chicken and it was amazing! All the veggies in it were cooked perfect and obviously fresh. Flavors were amazing. My husband got some coconut curry thing. It was too sweet for my taste. It was very reasonable. It was $36 for both of us and we had 2 drinks, 2 soups and 2 entrees. read more

Average for the food. Came in because my mom loves this place mainly because of the size of the shrimp she gets on her pad Thai. Greeted upon entering abs able to seat ourselves. Drink order in and out fast! Placed food order quickly and that was out in no time also. The lunch here does not come with a soup and fresh roll so a bit disappointed however we ordered some crab Rangoon and soup on the side. The crab Rangoon was cute and tasty. The spring rolls were very good abs came with peanut sauce which you have to have. I mean peanut sauce makes me nom nom nom. I ordered the garlic and black pepper chicken with no rice and extra veggies. It was just ok for taste. The veggies were fresh but the sauce was lacking. My daughter got the chicken fried rice which was good. Mom loved her pad Thai. My step father got the red curry which he also really liked although it was on the spicy side. Sadly, my experience was COMPLETELY at odds with the review history: Aweful to the point that I could not finish my food. And as for ambience and cleanliness, please inspect the attached photos and draw your own conclusion. Service was prompt and friendly though, so the place at least has that going for it. Wow! I stopped near here by pure chance en route from Chiefland antique shopping back to Spring Hill. I wasn't expecting to find a Thai restaurant in Crystal River. Thinking of this place, the word adorable comes to mind. I read that it's owned by a family of siblings who used to work at Thai restaurants in St. Pete. The wait staff was very pleasant. We ordered the egg rolls which were devoured quickly. Then I had an old favorite, chicken Lad Na. When I asked for spices they brought them out for me- the dried chili and the chili-infused vinegar sauce. I used the latter which was the perfect topping. The Lad Na was made perfectly with the noodles being pan fried yet still soft. This version used Westernized broccoli vs the Asian broccoli. Justin ordered Volcano Chicken...which was absolutely divine. The sauce was a wonderful savory flavor and each piece of chicken was lightly breaded and pan fried. He ate it all so I think he liked it! Thai Phoon doesn't deserve anything less than four stars. I do not know the next time we'd be back to eat here again but if I lived closer I feel it could become a favorite. I wish them the best of luck! read more

What I was most impressed with is when we asked if they made pad kra pao (extensive menu & might have overlooked), they didn't, but went over the ingredients with us, went back to the kitchen & made it. Some of the best I've had. The chicken wontons were delicious, tasted almost like there was bacon inside??? My husband had the crispy duck & he raved about it.
