I had never tried the food at Chan's before, so I decided today would be the day. I ordered my favorite --sweet and sour chicken with pork fired rice. I was so hungry, I forgot to put any sauce on my food! lol It was good plain. I also ordered a couple steak rolls and egg rolls. Very good! Lastly, I ordered some donuts - yummy! The food was good. We loved the fried wontons and chicken and broccoli. Did not care for the egg drop soup.

Chan's served delicious food. The Service was good and fairly quick. It was by d to go into a Chinese Restaurant and have no problem understanding what was said. There was a slight accent but not so heavy that it was hard to understand. All questions were answered quickly and friendly. I had the House Special Chow Mei Fun and Egg Drop Soup, my Wife had the Vegetable Lo Mein. Both were very good, served hot and generous portions. I live in Dunnellon so it is about a 30-40 minute drive to get there, but we would go again. There are a few tables in the restaurant so you can eat in if you choose. First, I'll admit we are not big Chinese food aficionados but we do like it occasionally. Chans is close to us so we decided to give it a try. We ordered takeout of General Tso Chicken and Chicken and Snow Peas. The Tso chicken was breaded but the coating fell off the chicken before eating it. Flavor was ok. The chicken and snow peas were "slimy" for lack of a better word. We ordered it spicy but it wasn't and overall flavor was fair but we couldn't get past the slimy aspect so didn't eat much of it. A pleasant surprise with our recent visit to this place. We quit going to Chan many years ago because the food was terrible along with rude personality! We decided to give it a try because the menu has changed with new item added We ordered beef chowfun.Wow what a surprise. It was totally delicious. Better than Yummy house in Ocala. We can't wait to go back and try out other items on the menu. Great job Chan. We don't have to drive all the way to Yummy House in Ocala for the beef chowfun fix. I'm glad we found Chan's. They really make it seem like they value your business. The staff is patient and helpful, the order was prepared quickly and piping hot, and best of all, our meals were delicious. My husband had the chicken chow mein combo - a large order with fried rice and a (substitution) spring roll. I love tofu and was happy to see 4 different options - 3 spicy, 1 sweet- including sesame tofu that will be my go-to when I can't take the heat. We ordered take-out as walk-ins but still were served quickly and back in our car in about 10 minutes. I could not complain about Chan's if I tried. Everything was fantastic! read more

Hibachi Salmon dinner was excellent. Wife ordeted General Tso's chicken. Sauce is delicious, but chicken was a little hard and crunchy.

The food was good, we ordered and picked up the food. I didn't look at the receipt till today when doing bills. The meals online for a combo are $7.99 each, so we ordered two meals and a quart of hot and sour soup. The bill should have been around $21.00 plus tax, according to the online menus. We got charged $31.22. What a rip off. In Ocala we get combo meals for $8.00 each a lot more food and honest people. At a time where people are struggling to make ends meet, its bad enough prices are so darn high, now you have to watch that you do not get ripped off on top of that. read more

I have liked them for many years over the others, normally I order then go to Publix then come pick up my order, however, I waited for my food yesterday and what I saw yesterday was seriously disturbing. The man who took my order and handled cash went to the food prep area handling food without washing his hands but that isn't as disturbing as the fact that at least 4 times while I was there he lifted his shirt with that same unwashed hand to wipe sweat from his face. This would have been gross even without the Corona pandemic you know droplets when everywhere when he did that. I have worked in restaurants since I was 13 years old and washed my hands frequently even when I probably didn't need to wash them. I will never order from there again which is sad because prior to that experience I really liked them! read more

This is a strip mall Chinese Restraunt. What I expect from these is good food, made to order, as in I can watch someone make my food. Fancy other items like silverware and glassware is optional, cans of pop are OK, clean table tops and functional safe chairs are a must. Oh yea, functional bathroom too. This location meets those basic requirments. Exceeds -:food. Very good, Didn't have my normal MSG crash. But to be honest, anytime you overeat the wrong dish you risk this. My food was hot, fresh, and exactly as I hoped. Taste was exactly as I would expect too. No funky aftertaste. I hate egg rolls but these taste fresh. Perhaps if I liked them I would say they have the best, who knows. The lady behind the counter was nice and helpful. Things that could be better. Watch the tables in the windows to accumulate more bugs. We are in Florida it happens, especially under the sign. Iced tea would be nice too, really nice. Sticking with he Florida thing... So would an ice machine. Bathrooms could be spruced up a bit too, maybe painted is all they need. They seemed clean. I will eat here and get take-out again and again. Posting this review as my family is finishing scraping their dinner into the trash. Husband and daughter were in the Publix Shopping Center and the smell of Chinese food enticed them to order takeout. There was nothing edible in the food that they brought home. The egg rolls were soaking with grease and the interior was mushy with a unappealing brown color , I don't know what was in it. The boneless spare ribs were saturated in a very sticky goo and they had the consistency of old shoe leather. The orange-flavored beef had nothing in the dish that was recognizable as beef. Tiny little lumps of fried something. The Szechuan chicken smelled disgusting like something had crawled into it and died, so I can't comment on the flavor as no one was willing to chance it on that dish. The pork fried rice was decent enough. This is not a Chinese restaurant that I would ever frequent again nor recommend to anyone. read more

The food was like every typical chinese food. When entering nobody said a word to us and we asked the woman at the counter a question and mid sentence she walked away from us to check the fryer. VERY RUDE woman. She seemed very annoyed we were even there. No eye contact. An elderly woman entered to pick up her food and had a hard time understanding the woman behind the counter. I thought we had already met the rudest, most non-customer service oriented woman in the world in a Chinese restaraunt in Mexico Beach, FL - but no I was wrong. This woman is flat out in the wrong business. She would be perfect for a business where there is no human contact. And the food...well at least we didn't get sick. Had not eaten here in 3 or so years and decided to get food for our extended family this last weekend. Ordered: beef on a stick, egg rolls, pork fried rice, Kung Pao Chicken, Sweet and sour chicken, and Chicken Chop Suey. The food was so terrible. Beef on a stick was to tough that we had to take it away from the kids because we thought it would choke them. My son in law apologized because he had asked that we get it but was unable to eat it. The pork fried rice was horrible and the peas and carrots liked like they were old and frostbitten. There was so recognizable flavor in the Kung Pao Chicken in the sauce. Everything tasted like it was made last week. The sweet and sour chicken looked like it has been fried twice ( to warm it instead of fresh) as did the egg rolls. The meat inside the S and S chicken was dried and looked old. The chop Suey looked so unappetizing that no one even tried it. We ate some, no one had seconds and we decided to throw it all away. About 4 hours later we all starting having diarrhea which lasted about 24 hour. One in our party vomited the next day for hours. When we called the restaurant, instead of being worried and asking questions they said it was not possibly due to the food and argued with me. STAY AWAY!! Food is terrible and we got sick.
