Great Thai food and great service! We love their pad Thai! Also their curry's are good! I ordered the red curry and it has a good flavor! You have to order first and then you can have a seat. They will bring out the food! The place is kinda small, sometimes it does get packed! A lot of take out orders because of TTU and the hospital across the street!

I started going here back in college and still enjoy it to this day! Their pad Thai is one of the best I've had. My husband enjoys the spicy chicken. The staff there is always friendly. The place is small so make sure to get there right when they open or do call in but be prepared to wait.

I ordered takeaway during a busy lunch hour and came away impressed. While my taste in Asian cuisine is limited to the Americanized versions of Chinese and Japanese, this was my first experience with Thai food. I ordered several items so I could try a little of everything, and I could rave about all of it! Since it was my first time, I opted for the Mild variety of each dish. Being adventurous, I definitely want to try the Medium and Hot versions during future visits, which are guaranteed to be in there very near future.

Food portions are good. I enjoyed the red curry. The Rangoon/cheese wonton is not worth buying. I barely had any filling in my wontons, just crunchy wonton. Vegetable egg rolls were also subpar, but would fill you up. Service was a little slow but I went during lunch time on a weekday. Ambiance was more of a pick up and go type place but you can sit and eat.

I'm from Houston and Lubbock Asian Cuisine is no where near as great as Houston's..or remotely close. But I've given this place a few tries (3xs to be exact) and have tried different things off the menu and all times I have left with an unhappy face. The pad thai and meat were dry and kinda yucky. The eggrolls had a weird taste to them. The rice noodles with the beef...the sauce was bleh. I realize that Lubbock is a small town and if you want Thai food you'll have to settle here. I've tried Bangkok Thai in Lubbock and that was a bit better although the restaurant is definitely a "hole in the wall." I think I gave this place atleast 1 star because of the Thai tea. Stopped in at 6:30 on a monday evening right after the end of the spring semester and the place is packed and the phone is ringing off the hook. This place is busy. 10 minutes to take my order and another twenty to bring it out. Not bad considering they are slammed. Tom Kha Gai came out steaming hot and delicious. I found pieces of galanga and kaffir lime leaves in the bowl so it was the real deal! Larb was a bit dissapointing. Not as tangy as others I have had. read more

Greatest Thai food in Lubbock by far. Go early if you want a table because this place gets packed for lunch and dinner. Great specials and very affordable if your are on a tight budget! Can get a little spicy but just let your server know how much spice you want and you will get it. Always impressed everytime I go back!!! read more

Pad Thai, Gai Yang, Kool Special... the chips and sauce they have.. AMAZING! it is usually very crowded--- I usually call in and pick it up. It is affordable, and very tasty! The rice they serve with the gai yang is jasmine rice, and it has a flavor from something reddish purple in it. It is very fragrant and very tasty. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

Yelp let me down with this place. I ordered the green curry with chicken and it did not have many vegetables in it and the curry was like coconut soup with not much flavor. My dad had the pad thai and it was mediocre. If this is the best Thai that Lubbock has to offer, I will never have Thai again. read more

Great location right between the hospital and Texas Tech. The food is quick and the take out is a great option if your in a hurry. In terms of taste it's the second or third best Thai in Lubbock. Could use some work on food presentation but the taste is great. The service on the other hand is better than the other Thai places. If your in the area it's worth a try. First impression: Small. Very small place and cramped. Waited a few minutes for a table of four. Service was quick and very polite. Shared a variety of different dishes and they all tasted quite nice. Lots of distinctive flavors which surprised me. I would recommend the Kool Special. Available mild or spicy. The service and the ambiance leave something to be desired. The place is often packed, so that might have had something to do with the lack of attention from the servers. Ugh. This place is ridiculous. Half the time they never answer the phone for a take-out order. The other 1/3 of the time, they're closed for no apparent reason. The other 1/3 of the time we actually get something to eat. The Thai food is ok but the only reason we go here is that there's nothing better (for Thai) in Lubbock. The pad thai is ok but get the spice on the side so you can taylor to your taste. The special with beef, rice and a fried egg on top is pretty darn good. The See-Ew is not worth getting - just get the pad thai for a noodle dish with spice on the side. I'm not crazy about their curry dishes as they have no vegetables (typically) but the taste is pretty good - just weird to have only chicken or whatever. read more

I really don't know what all the hype is about involving Thai Pepper! The decor is awful, the restaurant is sticky all over, the service is below average, and the food is something I would expect out of a fast food joint. The first time I went here, I got the thai staple: pad thai. It was okay. Lots of unnecessary cabbage and I was searching for the meat. The next time (I had to give it a second chance since thai food is my favorite) I got another staple: cashew chicken. Again I was searching for the meat that seemed to be drowning in some sauce that I couldn't quite stomach, and what seemed like a whole can of cashews! Definitely very disappointed as everyone at Tech says this is the best Thai food in Lubbock. Don't waste your money here! read more

Ambience, forget it. But the food and service are good. We had two curry dishes (a bit too soupy) and the chicken salad. Despite being very busy, the waitress had strong opinions and took time to share them. Wouldn't hesitate to go back. read more

Always busy because it's always good! I love the flavors in the yellow chicken curry, it's the only place in town I go to get curry. They're normally pretty rushed but it's worth the wait for a table if you don't get it to go. They normally have funky hours and there's always a chance they could be randomly closes but it's not too much of an annoyance. I call in my order most times just so it's ready when I get there. The sauce and chips they give you while you're waiting for your food is delicious (but also extremely sticky and I almost always leave with it all over my body). forever one of my favorite Thai food places in Texas! read more

I'll start off by saying how much I ha...disliked Lubbock. Having said that, Thai Pepper has to be Lubbuck's saving grace. The food is awesome and the service is excellent. Ask for extra spicy and you'll get just that. Mam's pad thai brought me to tears. This place sees long lines during lunch, actually, throughout the day. Thai Pepper is family owned and the place is very clean with a quaint atmosphere, you'll feel right at home. Solid Thai place across from Tech. I have had almost everything off their menu minus the Pad Thai (not a fan in general). Good basic curries, nice to warm you up during a Lubbock winter and always a good place to bump into other students and professors at Tech. If you ask for your food to be Hot, it will be a cough-inducing smoldering hot, so beware if you are used to ordering "hot" food and getting medium. My parents liked this place a lot when they came to visit during a very rainy April weekend. read more

I have been extremely disappointed in Thai food until I tried this place. First off, this is a small place, so be prepared to wait in line or get super lucky when you come in. The wait is worth it though. I tried chicken fried rice and pad thai and both were very good. The service was so so. The waiters weren't very friendly, but they were very busy and worked hard. I will definitely be back to this place. Also, their prices are very good and I got two meals out of their big portions. read more

The Pad Thai here is extremely sweet and the "extra spicy" is not hot at all. The chilis they add taste lack actual pepper- perhaps that's where their name comes from. The setting is pretty crowded and loud and they have a strange layout. The "chips" idea is cute, but the sauce is basically pure sugar. The Thai coffee is also extremely sweet, even sweeter than usual. It has almost no coffee at all and looks white. read more

Everything was good till I saw a cockroach crawling on the table next to where my food was. Then to finish it off; there was hair in my pho soup. I didn't get offered to get a discount or not to pay for my meal. I still paid full price and still left a tip. I truly do not recommend going here at all. I will never go there again. On my way home I was so disgusted I had to pull over and puke. I spent $34.98

Their combination fried rice comes as a generous portion, not overly salty or over seasoned. Garlic chicken is the bomb diggity. They also have the GOOD homemade hot mustard. They also offer Thai dishes on their menu. Which I'm most anxious to try.

I like asian food. Not really a fan of curry. Sometimes I feel that eating thai food defeats the point for me. But as somebody who has a sensitive tummy, the fried rice works well for me. It tastes absolutely amazing, although it is a little greasy (but what fried rice isn't?) You can get it with chicken, beef, pork or shrimp. YUM YUM. Anyways, I've never been thrilled with service. It's not bad. My order's always right, but I've definitely waited for drink refills and at one point almost got up to get it myself. Parking can also be a little cramped sometimes, not to mention sitting inside the actual restaurant. All in all, though, I like Thai Pepper a lot. It's pretty yummy. read more

I read all the great reviews online thought this would be a great place to bring a friend for her birthday. But when we got to the restaurant, we were pretty disappointed. The servers were rude, the food wasn't all that spectacular (though, maybe it's just what we ordered), and our overall experience was a "meh." And the fact that there is a $10 minimum to pay with card, for food and service that I didn't really like, just made my experience worse. Honestly, the only reason why I think this place does so well is because it's located next to a hospital, and all the doctors and nurses go there to eat. Probably won't be going back there anytime soon. read more

Thai Pepper was were I was first introduced to Pad Thai and it has ruined me for life! I have yet to find another place that even comes close to the Pad Thai at Thai Pepper. At lunch the place gets crazy busy but it is worth the wait. Don't let the crowd stop you for going. Call it in and take it to go. You'll love! read more
