First time here in the neighborhood. This place (for now) is only take out with no take out menu provided. So I had to look on their board. They do not have PORK as their choice of meats. You have to order only whatever they have on their menus. Like tom yum koong (hot, spicy and sour soup) only come with shrimp. So if you want chicken instead, no way they are going to do it for you. We ordered chicken satay, drunken noodles, pad kra paow with beef, larb neau and tom ka kai. Foods are pretty good but service is horrible. read more

Thai Palms is the freshest most authentic Thai food I have had in the South! Don't be scared away by the location! It's off the main tourist track and it's a little hard to find in a tiny strip mall, but it is a great find in Myrtle Beach. It is a family-run, reasonably-priced, super fresh restaurant. They will make almost everything on the menu vegetarian. I ordered one of the curry dishes and they used lightly fried tofu instead of meat, which was awesome of them! The pad thai was also really yummy and the fresh spring rolls (not fried) were incredible!! They were served with a trio of sauces and we honestly couldn't decide which one we liked best. I highly recommend coming here if you want to get away from the tourist attractions and try authentic Thai food. read more

We were really impressed with Thai Palms. It can be difficult to find vegetarian options here in the South, and Thai Pams didn't disappoint. We did takeout, and ordered the Drunken Noodle, Pad Thai and Sour & Spicy Shrimp soup. Everything is homemade, and it definitely shows. The vegetable rolls are the best I've ever had, and they're huge! If you don't like your food too spicy, I recommend going with mild. It still has quite a kick, but doesn't destroy your taste buds. Last night I called ahead for take-out, Pad Broccoli. Initially, I told the lady on the phone I wanted it "very spicy". She asked if I'd ever ordered it before, and I said "no". Then she recommended "medium" because some customers had told her the "very spicy" is VERY spicy. So, I went with medium. Glad I did! I hate to be the desenting voice, but I was not blown away. Out of the way, but I kind of like treasure hunts. Atmosphere was odd at best. Cafeteria feel, complete with fast food bench seating. Odd Thai music videos playing on a tiny tv. Overall the food was good, not amazing. Tom Kha had no coconut flavor and fried spring rolls were heavy with oil. But the yellow curry was really good. It's fresh, flavorful; simple, yet with the expected undergirding of herbs and spices. The restaurant is rather plain and far from charming, so it's our preference to call in a huge order for takeaway. It would be challenging to name a favorite dish--so many delights--but the red curry and the larb (laab) are always part of our order. Please help us keep Thai Palms in business. My friends and I ate here last weekend while on vacation. We chose this Thai restaurant because of the high rating on Yelp. I'm glad to say it is deserving of the high rating. I had the drunken noodles and it was flavorful and perfectly cooked. One friend had the green curry and he said it was better than our longtime comparison Thai restaurant called The Thai House. My mom brought me here after raving about the curry. I have to admit it was delicious! I got the red curry and she had the green curry. Both were awesome. For dessert we got the fried banana.
