it was our first time here, and we did enjoy it! our only problem was the price of the drinks, don't buy one there. a small bottle of coke cost us almost $5 each. aside from that, the portions are good for the price and will fill you up if you're not too picky. i got the teriyaki chicken, and my partner got steamed chicken with mixed vegetables. the rice was nice and fluffy, and the vegetables were well cooked and seasoned. The sauce that was served with our food was also nice, nothing was too salty or unpleasant. the dining area was liminal, people came and left while we sat and ate which is expected. I personally feel more comfortable as a customer being able to see the kitchen and their prep process, so that aspect was also nice. read more

This has been my to go Chinese restaurant til today. Everything we ordered tasted old, fried rice was soft and mushy. Steak teriyaki was so tough it could not be chewed, little flavor. Egg rolls were always good, today they tasted like they had nothing but cabbage in them and had been premade days ago. Beef and broccoli was fair, onions were soft and overcooked. Crab Rangoons were large fried triangles with no filling. I seldom leave reviews but quality has definitely gone downhill unfortunately. I did call and speak to the woman that cooked the food who simply said everything was freshly cooked. Maybe so, but definitely prepared days ago. read more

First time going here instead of my normal Chinese place I go to. I Ordered General Tso Chicken and Fried Rice. Rice was just ok and the chicken was good and but to crunchy. Only gave 2 duck sauce instead of 3-4 I get from other place. I'll recommend but wouldn't be my first choice. read more

Great Wall Chinese Restaurant in the Bi-Lo shopping center on Dick Pond Road is the BEST Chinese Restaurant I have found in the Myrtle Beach area. Being a closet Chef myself and being from Southern California where there are dozens of great restaurants to choose from, I feel qualified to give this 5-star review. I love Singapore Mai Fun (a curry-flavored rice noodle dish with shrimp, chicken, pork, and lots of veggies) IS THE BEST I've ever had. For $8.95, it's all you can eat and absolutely SPECTACULAR. I went there a LONG time ago, was disappointed. went again to give a second chance about 2 years ago, still the same. Thought one more try and that's it. This time I was NOT disappointed. I got Shrimp Lo main and asked to be easy on the oil, EXLLENT but it could have used a little more veggies. Also the Kung Bo Shrimp could have used more spice (which I forgot to ask for). I don't know what happened to this place it use to be decent, the woman at the counter seemed grumpy and was a bit rube when asked a question I got Crab Rangoon (6) and Hunan shrimp combo , the Rangoon with the most filling only had at most a 1/4 teaspoon of filling, while 3 more I got a total of a 1/4 tsp, the other two had nothing Now to the Hunan shrimp which had four shrimp and was zero spicy, I ate a couple of shrimp and it tasted odd but figured it might be me I tried a little more and I don't know what those little black bean shaped things where (see pics)but they were very bitter and salty ,and that is what made me race from the table and throw up I am still sick to my stomach and taste that stuff ,as I said before this place used to be decent but now I would place a bio hazard plack on the door But to be fair my better half got the Pork Egg Foo Young and she said it was ok Bottom line we won't go back read more

I am done with them I try to be fair with my reviews and this will be no different I ordered two lunches L16 & L3 General Tso's chicken extra extra spicy with egg drop soup L16 First the egg drop, I threw it away it tasted nasty like it was old & scorched and came out of a dirty pot that was after you got through the top layer of oil Now the GTC, I'm talking zero spicy even after ordering it ex extra spicy, the Tso sauce texture was a cross between pudding and jello now for the rice remember dirty pot? Well... when you get a clump of hard rice that was already cooked but hard as uncooked you know you got old rice Moving on to L3 Roast Pork lomein, jiffylube comes to mind Im talking 3000 mile between eating greasey ,wonton soup very oily I won't tell you not to go there but there are two other places close by Good luck read more

Definetly not the Chinese food that is plentiful in So Cal. The Chowmein, and Mongolian beef were delicious and fresh. The Seafood delight was bland and the BBQ pork ribs were old and dry. Stop in for take out the 16th of April around 4pm. We ordered the Cantonese chicken. Got home opened up the dinner wasn't what I am use to getting. Very few veggies, the chicken was what you get in sweet and sour chicken. The Cantonese I am use to has the veggies in a white sauce then the flat chicken breast cut into strips is laid on top covered in the brown sauce. I will not order this again. Well I used to go here a couple years ago, and was shocked at how poor the service was as well as the food. When I went to order I was going to circle on a menu like the sign said, but then the woman taking my order said she could just take it but seemed to be rushing me, even though there was no one in there. So naturally she messed up my order. Which was irritating (ended up paying for something I didn't want because I didn't want to go through the process of a refund), but then what's even more disappointing than that is the quality and flavor of the food wasn't near what I remembered when I had been before. I hate to say it but I will not be back again. Do not try the crab Rangoon! You will be very disappointed. read more

This is absolutely the worst Chinese food in the Socastee area.. We ordered 6 different meals.. All of The food tasted the exact same. Greasy and very bland. No flavor.. Beef and broccoli should in no way taste the same as sesame chicken. The crab Rangoon were so hard/crunchy we couldn't even eat them. They tasted like the filling was sour. I would not recommend this food to anyone. My husband and I literally got sick to our stomachs after eating at the Great Wall. Go to the China Wok up the street. read more

Ordered takeout. Went for pickup, 10 minutes, was ready when I got there. Dumplings - were ok but not great. Shrimp lo mein combo - was tasty and the shrimp were fresh, but the lo mein was greasy. BBQ sparerib combo - ribs were dry with very little of the red sauce on them, so lacking in flavor, Beef with mushrooms - tasted pretty good, but a few too many filler vegetables and not enough beef and mushrooms, eggrolls - were cold and a little dry and more wrapper than filling, pork fried rice - one of our combos had 1 tiny piece of pork in it and the other had just a few more than that. read more

This little place is the best take out Chinese food around. My husband and I love the House Platter appetizer, and all the other things we have tried on the menu are very good, I'd just avoid the soups since they are the only thing there that disappoints. The family that runs it are super nice, and fairly easy to understand on the phone. They are fast too, calling in an order they normally give a 15min turn around. They have even called back just to confirm that they have the order right. They will also make things very spicy if you ask, and they are open late. We've walked in before, given our order, walked over to the grocery store to get one item and the food has been ready on our return. Can't get much better then that! read more

Horrible food!!! I just went in there a few hours ago and ordered beef and shrimp with Chinese vegetables. The beef was very slimy and rancid! I took one bite and spit it out. Next, I tried one of the 3 shrimp in the tray. It was slimy and gross. I ate a few of the vegetables which tasted alright and then quit eating entirely. The spring roll and shrimp roll was decent, but that is all I could really eat. Now my stomach is upset and I just had to run to the toilet. I spent $14.23 with my $2 tip to eat a couple of shrimp rolls and get an upset stomach. I definitely won't be back. I have worked in the restaurant industry for 20 years and I saw several other things about this place that left a very bad taste in my mouth. Half of the tables were dirty despite the lack of customers. The cook wiped his nose with his hand, but didn't wash his hands before continuing to cook. And both him and the lady in there seemed totally depressed, like they didn't want to be there and didn't feel like dealing with a customer. The only cheerful person in there was their 8 or 9 year old daughter that was doing her school work. She actually handled my credit card transaction for me, and is probably the best employee they have. read more
