The decor is nice, the staff is friendly, and service was good the two times I went (Thursday nights). The food is decidedly mediocre. The appetizers on both occasions were fried too long and were dry and the ends were almost burnt (golden bags and spring rolls). The pad thai with chicken was not that great and had a funny aftertaste (I only ate a little bit of it (it was take out). The other evening I had a chicken stir fry dish (I forgot which one), and it was passable, but nothing to write home about. Don't think I'll be going back. read more

Tried this on the recommendation of other yelpers and I wasn't let down! Generous dinner portions and excellent food, I'll definitely be going back. read more

Their food are always good. The most recent time I went, this Friday, they were so busy, I saw a couple left because the waitress forgot them and didn't take their order. They also have to shift table around, ask people to move from 1 side of the table to another side so they can fix more people. Another thing is, their main dishes clearly mark don't come with rice. So when you order don't forget the $1.25 for white rice, or even more if you want sticky rice. Personally I think it is a cheesy way to make you think it is cheaper. However food are good! read more

Wonderful small Thai restaurant in Arlington center, with excellent food and friendly service. Over the years my favorite dishes have been the spicy ones, chicken typhoon, basil fish, red curry with duck. Recently they changed the menu and added salmon fried rice, one of the most exquisite dishes I have ever tasted there (although admittedly the salmon doesn't make it authentically Thai cuisine). The 2 small tables for two near the windows make for a very cosy dinner. We really love this restaurant! read more

Have eaten at Thai Moon many times and usually love it. The last two times, I ordered dishes that I've had before. Both of which aren't listed as being spicy on the menu. For some reason, these dishes were spicy and I wasn't able to eat them because of that. read more

Support this local business! I've been coming here for years (now doing takeout) and everything I've ever ordered has been just delicious. Thank you Thai Moon for being a restaurant I can count on to always be good!! read more

After reading recent reviews for Thai Moon, I was excited to try there take out. My conclusion is people have been inside way to long. There Appetizers including the sampler, spring rolls, Siam rolls and chicken wings tasted like they had been in a warmer for most of the day. The basil chicken was very disappointing, the chicken was shredded and basil way over cooked. Not good! The spicy Beef just did not taste good. The sauce had a very peculiar flavor. What's up Thai Moon, where's the beef? read more

Are we all eating at the same restaurant. Picked up take out on 1/29/2021 and our food came barely warm. The chicken wings looked like they were cooked in another decade, spicy beef had a strange flavor and looked like it was reheated. I could go on by why bother - try another restaurant.... It's COVID take should be great! read more

Cannot review food. However, we stepped in and the place smelled very bad. We could not stay and eat. We dis not stay there, not even a minute. My husband said he lost his appetite. They should do something about it. Not a pleasant ambiance at all if it smells funky and bad. read more

This place is my Grandma's go-to spot for Thai food. Very friendly and incredibly fast service with a calm atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable, and you can get lunch or full sized portions. The lunch portion is quite generous. read more

I stumbled upon Thai Moon thru Yelp. Food is delicious (dumplings are amazing) and the service is wonderful! Have ordered different meals and fried rice, all delicious! Highly recommend! read more

we've ordered twice from thai moon, and this is exactly what we've been looking for when we want quick, delicious thai food. the first time we ordered delivery and were surprised just how quickly the food arrived. then we realized the restaurant was just down the street, so we decided to pickup instead and were pleased that the restaurant notified us exactly when the food was ready to be picked up, which was really close to the estimate. the sampler plate is a really good deal, for about $13 can get chicken satay, crab rangoon, golden bags, 6 spring rolls, and dumplings. the crab rangoon are amazing, light and crispy with a curry cream cheese filling. the sampler plate comes with the 3 standard sauces including a really nice peanut sauce for the satay. we've ordered a few each of the fried rice dishes, noodle dishes, curries, and specials. each one is really flavorful and completely full of protein and vegetables. the curry is one of the best i've ever had and i was literally eating spoonfuls. they also allow you to list your preferred spice level and this comes through pretty accurately. so glad to have found a great neighborhood staple! read more

We've loved everything we've ever eaten here, and boy have we eaten a lot! The perfect pad c-u. The melt-in-your-mouth vegetable eggplant delight. The delicious curries. Friendly service; nice atmosphere; easy take-out. This is our favorite neighborhood restaurant. read more

I went back here and yes, it's still shit. It's ridiculously expensive for mediocre food. Also the staff seem to only reply to the good reviews while ignoring the bad. You're not going to improve your restaurant by living in your Snobby White Arlington Bubble, crap food is crap food, and Thai moon serves crap food. read more

Delicious food. The issue is, every time we have ordered from here there is an issue. And I LOVE the food so my brain does it's magic thing where it erases just how bad the last experience was. And tonight was the last night ever order from this restaurant again. In the past, I ordered two meals where something was forgotten - once if not both times it was the rice I ordered to accompany my saucy dish. And then there's the fact that typically the delivery time is 2+ hours. But if the order was delivered correctly, I could overlook that. This evening, after waiting almost 2 hours for our food and calling we were told "it was not ready". So, we cancelled the order on the phone, after waiting almost 2 hours for our food. Now, I'm just hoping that my credit card gets refunded without some annoying fight. THE END. Ordering from Maria's, (in e arlington), who NEVER disappoints! read more

I've had my final experience with Thai Moon. The food has gone down over the past year and the staff is rude. I've been trying to support local business as much as possible during covid but they don't seem like they want to stay in business. They have often not given me the correct change, including holding into a couple dollars on takeout. They have a rewards program and after going over forty times, I have three points. Why? Because they often don't put it in the system. I've often asked for them to do it while there and have been told no. They give you a card, but they won't use that to look you up. Many other places are trying to stay in business. Thai moon has made it clear they don't need mine! read more

Until tonight, I had been a long time customer of Thai Moon going back several years. Tonight, March 1st 2017 at approximately 6pm, I dined with my girlfriend at Thai Moon. We ordered both the Siam Fried Rice and Chicken Basil Fried Rice. While eating the Chicken Basil Fried rice, I noticed something sharp that cut my mouth. When I pulled it out, it was chicken bone. I let the waitress know immediately and showed her the sharp piece. She walked away and I assumed she would get the manager. She came back a few minutes later and asked if we wanted to take the rest of the food home. At that point I asked to speak to the manager. I explained I cut my mouth on the chicken bone and the manager laughed. I said its not funny, and it would be very dangerous if I swallowed it. He did not apologize, and when I told him there was no way I would pay for that meal. He told us to leave. I even asked if he had seen the sharp piece his response was he threw it away. Please note we had been long time customers and we did not expect to be treated that way. We will not be back and if I had swallowed that bone vs have a cut mouth they would be facing a lawsuit. read more

No complaints on the food. I have their text reward on the phone which said appetizer on the house with purchase. They said their system is down and charged me for that item even though I showed the text I received from them on my phone. They told me I can use it next time but it expires on 10/13 lol ‍ I don't think Im going there again in 3 days to use the rewards. As soon as I got out of the restaurant, I opted out of their not so functional reward system... read more

We decided to order from a different Thai restaurant. I had ordered the Noodles Kee Mao which said it was chicken and shrimp. There was literally only ONE shrimp in the dish. My daughter order the Rad Nar which had a nice flavor but the description of thick sauce did not apply. More like a soup. Nice flavor but a bit disappointed read more

Excellent food - easily the best in Arlington (East, Center, or the Heights). Fresh vegetables every time. We've eaten in; done take-out; and ordered delivery innumerable times. That's actually my only major criticism: whether ordering online with Foodler or via phone directly with the restaurant, it can easily take over an hour for deliveries, even during the week and after rush-hour (and we live exactly one mile away, one block off Mass Ave!). Given the $2 delivery fee on top of the tip, the food should not be arriving luke-warm as often as it does. (We still tip well because I don't blame the delivery person). Regardless, we appreciate that this excellent restaurant exists. Now if we could just get a legitimate Thai restaurant in EAST Arlington! read more

Great Thai food in the area ! will definitely return for more !

This was my second time at Thai Moon. The food was great and the staff are very friendly! My friends and I had several different dishes that we split, and all were very good, but my favorites were; pad thai, ginger & scallion fish, and chicken basil (the cook made it extra spicy per my request and hit the mark!). We had dessert too and the fried ice cream was an unexpected find, a truly excellent interpretation of this classic dish with a raspberry & wine sauce. I didn't try it, but my friends liked the sweet sticky rice with Thai custard very much too. I will definitely be back for more! read more

This is my third Thai Moon review. I have had miserable delivery experiences, so I just picked it up and it was better than ever. Tammy made it extra hot for me and asked me not to sue them. I would never dare. My Beef typhoon was as delicious and spicy. I've recently discovered their Tom Kha Gai soup. The sweet coconut milk and bitter lime juice work magically to create a typically Thai flavor. In summary, this place is a solid, 4-5 star place for take out or eat in. I'd really like to know if they have replaced the old guy with no sense of direction who does delivery. Any input on delivery orders would be appreciated. Don read more

Everything has tons of sugar in the food!!! Can't eat it up tooooo sweet. Disappointed. read more

Terrible terrible service. Beware of the waitress here. She was constantly hovering over our table giving no privacy all throughout our meal and back talks to you when asking to pack the remaining food as to why can't we just finish the food. That plus the food was not what we asked for and she messed up the spice level for our group. If that's not all, at the end she bad mouthed our group and threatened us not to come back since we only gave 15% for literally the worst service ever! I wish they can understand they lost the lifetime value of all the customers in our group, and do something to change the waitress. Never even thinking of going here again! read more

Love this place! Very authentic Thai food! Great Service. The chicken basil is soooo good!!

Tried the spicy chicken, which was not really spicy as it was salty. The dish was drenched in sauce, so it was difficult to taste the veggies. And oddly enough, I was charged extra to have veggies in my dish even though veggies were in the description on the menu. The service was fine, ambiance ok. But overall, my dish was not worth $15. On a scale of 1-10. (ten as best) Id say this Thai restaurant is about a 4. It would have received a 6, but a piece of chicken in my dish was raw. Completely unacceptable in my opinion. read more

I ordered delivery from here the other night, and I'd say their food is on the lower end of average. Certainly not four star worthy. I got an order of Pad Thai and an order of Pineapple Fried Rice. The Pad Thai was the better of the two, but that's not saying all that much. I really liked that there was a generous amount of scallions in it, which helped make up for the fact that the chicken and noodles were a bit on the bland side. The Pineapple Fried Rice tasted off, though I couldn't quite put my finger on what was wrong with it. Despite the mediocrity of the food, I'm giving Thai Moon 3 stars instead of 2 as I originally planned because delivery was fast and the delivery guy was friendly. And both of those go a long way in my book! read more

This might be one of the best Thai restaurant around. They got a new owner and chef but food remains excellent. Mussels are tender and juicy. Curry is bit spicy and delicious. seafood is well prepared and presented. Rice is soft and well prepared. Nice deco and atmosphere. What a excellent night to eat in this place! read more

We have not eaten in the restaurant, but this is our go-to place when we order in and don't feel like pizza. Although the food is consistently tasty, the spice level is hit or miss, and occasionally a dish may have far more heat than the "medium" we usually request. We've ordered many different items from the large and diverse menu, and some of our favorites include the Golden Bags appetizer, Salmon Choo Chee and the Ginger Scallion Fish. I generally add extra vegetables to my orders and Thai Moon is generous. Note that it's a little priceyand many dishes do not come with rice (and you may need it for the heat). read more
