This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. I went to lunch with three coworkers, and when we arrived, the restaurant was very slow with only a few tables occupied. We were seated quickly, and the waitress took our order, but after that the service completely went downhill. While we waited, three other tables came in after us. We received our drinks, but then watched as the tables next to us were served their food before us -- even though they arrived later. After waiting over 30 minutes, I politely asked the waitress what the issue was. Her response was that there were "a lot of things going on" and that we would just have to wait our turn. At that point, my coworkers and I decided to leave. It doesn't matter how good the food may be if the customer service is that poor. The overall atmosphere was unpleasant, the service was unacceptable, and I would not recommend this restaurant, especially during lunchtime. If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

I love Thai food and was looking forward to trying this place on Miracle Mile. The restaurant was clean and cool, especially with the Stockton heat! The a/c was very much appreciated. They have a full bar and serve cocktails. Service was decent. Cindy always checked on us and was very pleasant, but it was also slow. Cindy was the only server. The food took awhile to arrive. And when it did, everything came out at the same time. The check took awhile to arrive as well. You need to catch her at the right moment before she talks to another table or else you'll be waiting. We ordered: Thom Kha soup with tofu - Although I appreciate the amount of tofu in this soup, the broth was bland and lukewarm. Papaya Salad - it was okay. I liked the tomatoes mixed in. I had the opportunity to stop by Thai Mr Up for a quick salad to go. I ordered the Larb- a traditional Thai minced protein salad. The hostess was very helpful and made the suggestion of a Larp salad with mild spice level based on my palette. I chose chicken. The space is set up with a bar on one side and seating on the other with the hostess stand in between. I was able to wait for my food on a comfortable overstuffed couch next to the hostess desk. The Larp was not quite what I expected, but was very good. It was more of a lettuce wrap than a salad, with some lettuce leaves under a spicy mix of minced chicken. It was very tasty, and primarily chicken. I hope to try more items from Thai Me Up in the future! read more

My husband and I were wanting to try this place for a few years now so we were looking forward to it. I ordered the spicy ground pork pad ka prow with the fried egg on top (extra fee) and the white jasmine rice. I will say the flavor was good, but personally I prefer a little more crispy ground pork and crispy edges on the fried egg. There's plenty of seating and it wasn't busy on a Sunday. I will say for my personal preference it was a little dark in there. We did order a few more dishes on the side and they were okay but I don't plan on returning any time soon, or maybe ever. read more

Thai Me Up has a really nice and modern interior. It is spacious and has a nice layout for dinner dates or eating out with friends. One thing is, this may just be my own preference, but I wish the restaurant wasn't so dark during the day time. The servers are also friendly and welcoming. I feel like they have a lot of potential, but since I've eaten here a few times before writing this review, I have noticed a few issues. I think firstly, the service has always been slow every time I go there. The servers take a while to check your order, bring you water, and just things like that. I also have noticed there is always a long wait for food. Even If it's empty it still takes 15-20 minutes for food to come out and when it's crowded I have waited up to 40 minutes for food to come out. When it comes to the food I always enjoy how it tastes. The pad thai and pad see ew are very flavorful and tasty. The proportion sizes for both are decent. I think other menu items are proportionately small for the prices. But overall, I think if they just worked more on their service, it could easily be a 4-star restaurant for me! I really think it is a trendy place with good food! read more

The server was so accommodating and helpful to get us out on time. We were able to pick a few popular items. It definitely left us wanting to try more. Everything we had was delicious. Angel Wings, Fried Pork Belly, Papaya Salad, Sausage all yummy. I didn't get a pic of a couple of our dishes. I've been here a few times since they've open years ago. We came tonight for something different because Thai food is not something that's always on our list. But it was SO good. Really relaxing, we came on a Sunday evening, and it was quite busy, which shows that people like it. We had the drunken noodles, and spicy eggplant. Dessert was the ice cream, banana wonton dish. I remember when this place opened. It was a nice atmosphere, had great food and portions, the waitstaff were wonderful. The prices were a little high but not too much to not have them once in a while. I hadn't been in a while and the prices were way higher than I thought they'd be. I thought it was ok though because the portions are great but when we got the food it was a smaller portion than they were before. However, the taste was still great. I understand how small businesses have to raise prices to make profits and pay their staff, I also know sometimes that entails cutting portion sizes. We had traveled to Stockton to see the Central cranes and on our way home we stopped here for dinner. You walk into a bright open dining area, and you're immediately greeted by the motto in Neon above the couch, suitable for a photograph on Instagram. The restaurant was nearly full Saturday at about 7 PM, but there were still a couple tables open and are server seated us where we wanted. The menu is fairly extensive and interesting along with a nice cocktail menu that I would recommend over the wine list. we started with vegetarian spring rolls. These came out in a little french fry basket with some dipping sauce. There were five spring rolls which we were able to divide between the two of us. These were piping hot and tasty. My "rye not" was brought at the same time. It is their take on an Old-Fashioned cocktail. A nice balance of ingredients and enough alcohol to get a little buzz going, but not keep you from ordering another :-) For our supper my wife had the Tom Kha soup and I had the red curry with duck which is listed as a chef's special. She felt her soup was good, but perhaps under salted. my red curry was also good but the duck was a little dry. The portions are a decent size for either ordering several and sharing or getting one thing and eating it all yourself. Service on the whole is pretty good. The woman who took our order was friendly and attentive without hovering. The fellow who brought our food was perhaps a little indifferent. My one complaint is that the chef's special was brought out without the bowl having been napped. There had been an obvious spill, the evidence of which was left on the side of the bowl. Presentation is part of the reason for going out rather than staying home with the TV. I should add that we were very pleased or I was at least that they do have the "four condiments" that are Thai restaurant back in Santa Clara has also. if you like chili heat, then you must try the sliced Thai chilies in fish sauce on your food. I love Thai Me Up. The best Thai spot in Stockton. Let's start with the interior. It's dim lighting but decorated with candles on the tables. It looks like they got new chairs, which makes them comfy. New menu too (sorry I didn't take a pic) but new items have been added. I got the Red curry and it was so good. I guess they have 5 levels of spices. I got medium but they provided chilles on the side. I'll get spicy next time. I got an appetizer too. The chicken Satay tasted great with the pickled carrots. It was not the usual refreshing Thai salads I've had at other restaurants. It was filet beef strips which were tough and chewy. We did like the mango in the salad. When all the dishes arrived, I had to ask the server for plates. We only had very tiny plates to eat off of. There were also no serving spoons for the dishes we ordered. When I asked for serving spoons, the server brought those little thick Chinese soup spoons. I'm not sure if the server was new or what. It was an odd experience, hence the three stars. read more
