Fried Pork Belly (G) Papaya Salad (Lao Style)
Blanche M.

Came here for dinner with some friends. Fast seating, and was greeted immediately from our server. We ordered items such as pad Thai, pad see ew, their pork belly, and their papaya salad. All items were delicious. Only downside of their restaurant was that when the sun went down outside, it became very dim inside. We felt like it was hard to see. Also, it was one of our friends birthday--they unfortunately do not do anything for people's birthdays.

I love Thai food and was looking forward to trying this place on Miracle Mile. The restaurant was clean and cool, especially with the Stockton heat! The a/c was very much appreciated. They have a full bar and serve cocktails. Service was decent. Cindy always checked on us and was very pleasant, but it was also slow. Cindy was the only server. The food took awhile to arrive. And when it did, everything came out at the same time. The check took awhile to arrive as well. You need to catch her at the right moment before she talks to another table or else you'll be waiting. We ordered: Thom Kha soup with tofu - Although I appreciate the amount of tofu in this soup, the broth was bland and lukewarm. Papaya Salad - it was okay. I liked the tomatoes mixed in. Pad See Eww with chicken - flavorful but I think it needed more veggies and color. Pad Gra Pow with Crispy pork belly - this was my favorite of all the dishes. The pork was so flavorful. The basil was also crispy. I would order this again.

I had the opportunity to stop by Thai Mr Up for a quick salad to go. I ordered the Larb- a traditional Thai minced protein salad. The hostess was very helpful and made the suggestion of a Larp salad with mild spice level based on my palette. I chose chicken. The space is set up with a bar on one side and seating on the other with the hostess stand in between. I was able to wait for my food on a comfortable overstuffed couch next to the hostess desk. The Larp was not quite what I expected, but was very good. It was more of a lettuce wrap than a salad, with some lettuce leaves under a spicy mix of minced chicken. It was very tasty, and primarily chicken. I hope to try more items from Thai Me Up in the future!

Pad See Eww & Pad Thai

Thai Me Up has a really nice and modern interior. It is spacious and has a nice layout for dinner dates or eating out with friends. One thing is, this may just be my own preference, but I wish the restaurant wasn't so dark during the day time. The servers are also friendly and welcoming. I feel like they have a lot of potential, but since I've eaten here a few times before writing this review, I have noticed a few issues. I think firstly, the service has always been slow every time I go there. The servers take a while to check your order, bring you water, and just things like that. I also have noticed there is always a long wait for food. Even If it's empty it still takes 15-20 minutes for food to come out and when it's crowded I have waited up to 40 minutes for food to come out. When it comes to the food I always enjoy how it tastes. The pad thai and pad see ew are very flavorful and tasty. The proportion sizes for both are decent. I think other menu items are proportionately small for the prices. But overall, I think if they just worked more on their service, it could easily be a 4-star restaurant for me! I really think it is a trendy place with good food!

What is not to like? Cute restaurant. When it's full it's a little loud in there. Anyway, we went here before an event at Stockton Arena. The server was so accommodating and helpful to get us out on time. We were able to pick a few popular items. It definitely left us wanting to try more. Everything we had was delicious. Angel Wings, Fried Pork Belly, Papaya Salad, Sausage all yummy. I didn't get a pic of a couple of our dishes. I've since dined there during the lunch and got to try the Panang Curry with Beef and the Pad Thai. Again everything was delicious. This is definitely a favorite spot on the Miracle Mile.

Mango Sticky Rice

Came at the perfect time for drinks sat at the bar right away and ordered a lemon drop and the Red light district. Again as always the mango sticky rice was my go to! Came for a night cap of drinks and dessert for date night with the hubby! The setting in the bar was very dim and dark and romantic! The bartender gentleman was super nice!

Green curry with seafood spiced at the highest level "call the ambulance 2x"

Always good food. No complaints here. Really dig the green curry seafood. I ask for it to be the hottest they can make it. Then double that and it actually comes out really spicy. It's super flavorful tho. Tried the drunken noodles with beef and those were fire! My wife always gets the pad Thai and it's always delicious. Service is good and the wait time isn't bad at all. Nice little restaurant tucked away on the miracle mile. Highly recommend

WHY WE WENT HERE: - lunch meet-up with a friend prior to going to a Yelp Elite event in the area THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located in a plaza off Pacific Ave and Tuxedo Ct - parking is located on the street as well as a narrow shared parking lot adjacent to the restaurant - a red awning provides shade for the enclosed outdoor dining/seating available (which we saw patrons with dogs dine at) THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - modern luxurious; artwork, murals, textured decor, plants, accent walls THE MENU: - tapas - salads - chef's selection - noodles - things with rice - soups - noodle soups - sides - desserts - beverages WHAT WE ORDERED: - Tom Yum Glaze Wings - Pad Woonsen with Chicken - Palo - Thom Saap with Chicken THE TASTE: - Tom Yum Glaze Wings - very tasty! if you like tamarind (sour) you'll like this - Pad Woonsen with Chicken - like the Thai version of Filipino pancit except some of the ingredients were more reminiscent of Vietnamese egg rolls (i.e. wood ear mushroom); tasty - Palo - Thai version of Lu Rou Ran (Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice Bowl) or Thit Kho (Vietnamese Braised Pork with Eggs); sweet and heavy, but comforting - Thom Saap with Chicken - light and sour, very comforting; if you like tamarind you'll like this CUSTOMER SERVICE: - greeted and seated right away - attentive but not overbearing - quick service

Food is amazing as always and the service is amazing as well. Our server/bartender was the sweet pregnant lady and she was so attentive to each and every customer. It's always a pleasure at Thai me up !

Sisters Rye Not and single serving of sticky rice

When I am craving some spicy drunken noods and a drink, Thai Me Up can help the craving! Everything we ordered hit the "spice" level. The papaya does not look spicy and comes on a small authentic Laotian platter but it was plenty to feed 4 adults. Drunken noodles had just enough spice and flavor, Padthai was my husbands favorite. We also ordered the fried chicken, fried pork belly and Laos sausages to go with sticky rice. Always order more than one serving of sticky rice, your tummy will thank you. It is a bit dim in some areas of the restaurant, there is a cute little backdrop for a quick social media selfie!

thai food!! so good! the service was quick despite how busy it was and the three people working so we were pleasantly surprised. the menu has a lot of variety and everything is customizable with your choice of protein and spice level. for appetizer's we got spring rolls and fried pork belly. for mains we got pad thai, pad woonsen, roti bread, drunken noodles, and bamboo shoots. for dessert we got mango sticky rice and coconut ice cream with fried banana. everything was so good and had such great flavor! the thai tea was also so yum. my fav dish was the mango sticky rice because they always make it so perfectly. we weren't disappointed with anything we got and can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

The "four condiments" love those Thai chilies in fish sauce!

I came to Mezzo for dinner…read more I left spiritually changed. First of all -- Cheryll behind the bar? Protect her at all costs. The mint mojito she made me wasn't a drink... it was a religious experience. I don't know what she put in it (mint? magic? a degree in mixology from Hogwarts?) but I considered texting my ex just to tell her I've finally found happiness. Now let's talk about the Sol Fish. I ordered it like a normal person. I did NOT expect to sit there in silence after the first bite, staring at the wall, re-evaluating my life choices. Perfectly cooked. Light, flavorful, disrespectfully good. I almost asked for a moment alone with it. At one point I considered clapping. In public. Like people do when the plane lands. Mezzo, you did your thing. Cheryll, you are a national treasure. I will absolutely be back. 10/10. Would let this meal ruin all other mojitos for me again.

I had never had an aperol spritz drink but was pleasantly surprised and I hope future aperol spritz's I try will be as good as this one. Rigatoni bolognese was delicious. The pistachio cannoli was the best of all the items I tried and especially unique - a must try if you come! The restaurant itself is a beautiful place to dine - very elegant. A must try if in the Stockton :)

Security will comstantly hit on your drunk friends and no one stops them, this is even when the women are clearly not interested. It is extremely uncomfortable. The music is awful, you have to make the best of it. But after going there for a couple months the music is simply catered to a white and latin crowd. I do not hear anything current or relevant when I am there. Me and my gf usually go there because its close and thats it. We are usually the only ones that truly dance and are the reason alot of folks said they enjoyed their time (even though they agree the music and atmosphere sucks- it looks like NY ). We have never got offered free drinks or anything complimentary for attracting a crowd or bringing friends. Everywhere else, this is usual when attracting customers for a bar. Too much staff... It is not POC friendly. I have heard almost everyone I know complain about the demographics and the bad music. I also see alot of DL men hovering by the bar in bulk so I am guessing it may be catered to them they tend to by the most drinks. I have had many friends there make the same statement. Overall, just leave this one alone and go to Islanders. More POC, more diversity in staff, no awkward fake moments with the Owner (who is as uptight as they come), and more fun people. You will likely leave aftera couple drinks.... Thats what they want. They scam and play a couple fo songs so you buy buy buy and leave without dancing or if you do its to 50 cent and Lil John like you in 8th grade Bad business.... Trust me. I dance all the time. I try to be nice to the DJs because I can't tell if their fault or the owners either way. I won't go unless I am desperate. Unfortunately, this business doesn't keep up with the times. No stars from me. Staff is creepy. If you are a drunk woman stay tf away because the bartender or security will get at you and keep bothering you all night.

We got there before 6pm and my first two dinner entrees I wanted were already sold out. It must have been pretty busy before we arrived. A little bit of a let down. Most of the seating is in a covered outdoor courtyard with string lights and patio heaters, which creates a cozy setting for a group dinner. There's also a smaller indoor bar area that feels more intimate. The atmosphere is inviting and well done. We started with saganaki and The Bee's Knees to share. The Bee's Knees -- toasted bread with goat cheese, honey, and bee pollen -- was actually one of the highlights of the night and something I'd definitely recommend. We also ordered cocktails and a couple bottles of wine for the table, a Pinot and a Napa Cabernet. The Pinot was enjoyable; the Cabernet was not our favorite and felt a bit underwhelming. Service was friendly but slow and somewhat disorganized. We were told there was only one cook in the kitchen that evening, which likely explains why the food took quite a while to arrive. Several in our group ordered the "I Really Don't Care" entrée. I had a salad with steak, and unfortunately the steak was a bit clammy and lacked flavor. It wasn't terrible, just not memorable. For dessert we shared the lava cake, which was decent but not exceptional. If half-stars were an option, I'd probably land at a 3 1/2. Since that's not how it works, I'm giving it three. The ambiance and a few dishes stood out, but the overall execution didn't fully meet the expectations we had going in.
