Arrived early for a recent Stockton Ports game. I had previously learned there was a Thai place located in a liquor store on Fremont Street. It was located just one block from Banner Island ballpark. I was very pleased with my takeout order. Very fast kitchen serving entrees, which were full of big flavor. The shrimp rice plate was impressive and the staff is very cordial and efficient. We normally just order food from the same truck. But I only ordered here. I was checking out what they had, now it's been a minute since I had Thai food. And it's been another minute, since I had lemon grass chicken. So that's what I went with. We got there like literally closing time. But the guy who took my order was cool and I appreciate that a lot. Awesome customer service. Kik Basil takes card and cash. We paid with card and the guy working, I should have asked his name . Told us to wait in the car and he'll bring it to us. The wait time for the food wasn't long at all. My daughter was chilling in my car and I was just waiting outside in front of my car and he brought out the food. He told me "Since they are closing and I was the last customer" "He added some extra chicken" I was like hell yeah I'm my head. So I thanked him. Serious that was hella cool. This place is amazing and is easily one of the best Thai food in town. They're located close to Chuck E. Cheese (look for the big elephant logo) and they're parked by food trucks. I recommend parking at the parking lot in front of the truck. I'm assuming it's a family owned business and the owner is really nice. I really recommend the pad ka prao fried rice and you have an option to add a fried egg on top. It's really flavorful and you can tell they cook it on a wok which is a huge plus. The pad Thai is also very flavorful, but my only complaint is that the bean sprouts aren't cooked in it, it's just served on the side. No biggie though, now I know to ask for it cooked next time! Their prices are fair as most things are less than $10. From what I've seen, they offer weekly specials and they post on their Instagram often (@kikbasil). The papaya salad with shrimp was delicious, but I would probably get the regular papaya next time which is $7. Lastly, they do offer phone orders which is a plus and they also take card if you don't have cash on hand. I do recommend cash as you'll avoid taxes.
