One of their "sushi rolls" this is before I took a bite...

Listen, I don't like to bash any businesses, and this place had potential, but it has fallen off the rails. I used to love the sushi, but I got a roll that was indescribable mush with a foul fish smell and taste and couldn't bring myself to finish it. (See the pic below) What's almost worse than that is how long their service takes, even for take out. I've been told "30 minutes" for take out 3 times now and waited an hour each time, for fried rice and pad Thai... please. They've got to figure it out, for other guests, not me, I won't be returning.

A splendid mix of sushi and sashimi!

In a world of fresh sushi, this place right here delivers! It is hidden in a world of storefronts, but don't be deterred! There are definite subtleties that separate a good and great sushi place. Thai lemongrass is a cut above. Maybe I should say a roll above! The rolls are tight, fresh, and flavorful. I also appreciate the little things that separate them from other places. They do not mince their spicy rolls like a lot of places. It is whole chunks of fish with added spice. Another component I like about them is that they offer rolls that are not frequently offered anywhere else! A rare roll. Lastly, I have to say their food agrees with me from the time I eat it until it's gone...you figure it out Hahaha Bon appetite!

Nice flavors and good sized portions. We ordered takeout Penang Curry, Pad Thai, and Chicken Satay. All were tasty!

Delicious Yellow Curry is perfect when I want something warm and all of the vegetables! Crab Rangoon's have a nice Asian flare.

Long wait times for the food, salmon dishes are okay, the fish is coated and is over cooked and coating is sooo mushy, sauces were good

We made the drive out to Middleborough to give Check In Thai Cuisine a try and ended up ordering…read morequite a bit so we could get a good feel for the menu. Overall, we were really happy with the meal and there were a couple of dishes that genuinely stood out. The Samui Fried Rice was probably one of my favorites. You could immediately taste the wok hei. The rice had that smoky, slightly charred flavor that you only really get when fried rice hits a properly hot wok. It makes such a difference compared to fried rice that tastes like it was simply tossed together. The shrimp were a good size, the vegetables still had some texture, and everything was seasoned well without being overly salty. The Pad Gra Paow was another standout for the same reason. Tons of wok hei and a really nice savory basil flavor throughout the dish. I love when you can actually taste that something came straight out of a ripping hot wok, and both this and the fried rice had that quality. Definitely two dishes I would order again. We also tried the Spicy Basil Fried Cod, which came with a generous piece of fried fish and plenty of vegetables. The cod held up nicely against the sauce without becoming completely soggy. We also ordered the Choo Chee Duck, which was rich and flavorful and a nice change from the usual noodle and rice dishes we tend to order at Thai restaurants. The Yum Beef Salad was a nice contrast to everything else. Lots of beef with cucumber and herbs, and the brighter, tangier flavors helped break up some of the heavier dishes. One thing I especially appreciated was how accommodating they were with spice levels. My fiancée grew up eating Hong Kong-style food and her definition of spicy is basically... no spice . Some Thai restaurants say they can make something mild and it still comes out with enough heat that she can't really enjoy it. Check In actually listened. Her food came out genuinely mild without tasting bland, while the dishes we wanted with more heat could still be made accordingly. If you're dining with people who have very different spice tolerances, that's a big plus. And definitely get a Thai iced tea. Sweet, creamy, cold, and exactly what I wanted alongside the spicier and more savory dishes. We finished with the coconut pudding, which was a nice little sweet ending after ordering way too much food. The restaurant itself isn't huge, but it has a cozy, casual feel. Service was friendly, and considering how many different dishes we ordered, everything came out well. Overall, Check In Thai Cuisine is a really solid little Thai spot that would be easy to overlook from the outside. The biggest thing that would bring me back is the wok cooking. That smoky wok hei in the fried rice and gra paow was easily the highlight of the meal. If it were my first visit, I'd start with the Samui Fried Rice, Pad Gra Paow, and a Thai iced tea. Those were the winners for me. We'll definitely be back, especially since we're going to be spending more time around the Plymouth area.
