We were here around 6:15 on a Friday evening. There was a table of one and two tables of 2 (including us) and a couple of takeouts. We were leaving by 6:45. Service was fast and hot. Staff were friendly but quiet. When we walked in there was nobody to great us so we just found a table to sit at. There was a young girl sitting at the checkout counter who looked up but did not acknowledge us. After watching it appears that she may be a daughter of the owners who is watching her phone waiting to go home. Our drinks and appetizer came out within 5 minutes of ordering. I had the iced Thai tea and we had the steamed pork dumplings. We were also served a comp small plate with some head lettuce and a vinaigrette dressing. (Salad). Our main dishes of drunken noodles and pad thai came out quickly. We asked for chop sticks which we were promptly accommodated with. As for the food we both felt it was ok. Not bad but we have had much better at 3 other restaurants in town. When we were done eating we sat a bit wondering if we would receive a bill. The server and cook were sitting behind the counter looking at their phones? I told my husband I think you just go up to the counter and pay, which he did. We were thanked on our way out the door. We ordered food to go from Thai Kitchen tonight. It was SO yummy! We had the egg rolls, the golden bags (cream cheese wontons), the crispy duck, the pad see ew, and the drunken noodles. We got medium spice, and it all had just enough heat for us. I highly recommend the food! I have had Thai food from many restaurants in several different states, and this was some of the best I have ever had! We will definitely order from here again next time we are in FWB. read more

Okaloosa County has more Thai restaurants than anywhere I've ever lived or seen. Having said that, this particular restaurant pales in comparison to the others I have been to, and I've probably been to all of them. The food here to me is lackluster in taste, not much seasoning or different spices used at all. The lunch menu is small, not much variety. My final point is that when I dine in at a restaurant, I expect someone to approach me at least once to make sure everything is good with me. Nobody ever came to me to check on me or see if I needed a refill on my drink. Whenever this happens to me at a restaurant, I make the assumption that you don't care about me as a customer. Anyone traveling with me knows Thai is my first choice for dinner on the road and I am a repeat customer at Thai Kitchen in Ft Walton when I go to Hurlburt Field. Almost never crowded inside but there's a steady stream of takeouts. Loved their basil chicken, pineapple fried rice and pad Thai. Eggplant was disappointing but the portions are always generous and definitely freshly prepared. Tasted as if I was in Thailand! I went in for lunch one day, and the place was empty, which scared me a little since it was right in the middle of lunch rush for all other restaurants. However, the food was delicious, cheap and quick. For the $6.99 lunch special, I was able to have a salad, spring roll and Pad Thai. The special is a bargain. Delicious pad Thai and chicken fried rice! The lady there was very friendly and our food came out very quickly. They also had tasty little candies after your meal. So this is the second Thai place that I have tried since my arrival here and I have been disappointed in both. I kind of stumbled across this place and it wasn't as bad as the other place I tried. I ordered pineapple curry and chicken wonton. The curry was flavorful and actually had more than 4 pieces of chicken in it. My only issue is that they only give you a handful of rice and charge you for more rice. I have never had to pay for extra white rice until this restaurant so I was taken back at that. It was only a dollar but still...... the chicken wonton was pretty yummy too. I went on a week day night so it wasn't busy at all. Overall not bad but definitely not in my top 3. read more

Despite being notoriously indecisive and noncommittal, I've fallen for Thai Kitchen and said "I do" to it being my go-to Thai spot. That is no easy decision since competition in this area for Thai food is fierce. And I stray occasionally and go to other Thai restaurants. Nonetheless, I know who to come home to. Their green curry won me over, and red curry was good too. The noodles were decent, and the stir fry eggplant flavorful. The only thing that sucked was the fish cake. For one, it was too round to have been homemade. Also, they used to cost about 50 cents for a whole bag in Thailand, and here they are like, $7, for TWO PIECES. TWO FUCKING pieces? But I forgave them nonetheless and came back and ordered more curry. No relationship is perfect. And I'm committed to making this one work. read more

Two words: Pineapple curry. There are not many options for good Thai food as a resident of Pensacola, so whenever my husband and I visit Fort Walton/Destin area, we make sure to stop in at this place. The ambiance is what one would expect at a Thai restaurant. The service is good, nothing over the top or outstanding, but good. It's the food that completely blows my husband and I out of the water. Confession: We have never been to Thailand, but the food here is different than any other Thai place we have had between Tallahassee to Mobile, Al. The golden bags are a great appetizer to share. My husband and I ordered the fish cakes and we wouldn't order again, but they were worth trying. Not only is the food great, but Thai Kitchen knows how to bring on the heat. My husband, who competes in hot eating competitions, enjoys "Thai Hot" and this place knows how to make it hot. Some of the other restaurants in the area put raw peppers to make the dishes hot (which allows one not to be able to taste anything in the dish: adding several spices throughout the dish is the correct way to increase the heat level, without taking away from the overall taste) or the restaurants make it mild because they assume we cannot handle the heat. It was nice for a change to be taken serious with the heat index that we ordered. If you don't like spicy, just say mild. Our friend ordered his mild and he said it was the perfect about of heat and sweet flavor. Delicious and authentic Thai food...love it!!!

Thai Kitchen is a quality mom-and-pop restaurant. It's small with about 15 tables. I wanted to start with a papaya salad but they were out (what true Thai restaurant is out of papaya in the summer?) so I went with the vegetarian egg rolls. These were bad and I think they were frozen chinese-style egg rolls that came with an out-of-a-jar sweet and sour sauce. For their part, they were at least fried well without excess grease and not overdone. My entree was tofu drunken noodles or pad kee mow. This was excellent. I find that a lot of restaurants have a tough time balancing the sweet and spicy balance in this dish. The portion was perfect for me. The vegetables were all fresh. The ambience makes this place feel like a nice neighborhood Thai place, quiet, unassuming. I wouldn't say this is the most authentic Thai restaurant, as many reviews say. Their menu includes a number of American-inspired chinese food dishes and they didn't have papaya salad. Nevertheless, this is a quality Thai place, which in the south, is tough to find. Outside the south, the food quality would get it 3 stars. read more

The Asian food in the area never disappoints! This is a family owned business. The bf and I came in and there was only one other table. There menu was huge but we knew what we wanted. I ordered the triangle tofu and shrimp pad Thai. My hubby got the shumai and the pork yellow curry. The triangle tofu was crispy but bland. They didn't add salt or anything. The sauce was a sweet vinegar tasting thing with crushed peanuts inside. It went well with the tofu. My pad Thai was good, just what I anticipated. The portions were huge, be warned you mY have to take a box to go. The shumai was eh, nothing special. It had a gummy texture, and was flavorless. The yellow curry was enjoyable and he ate it all. I had high hopes of finding a Great New (to me) Thai restaurant close to my new home. Based upon various recommendations, I tried Thai Kitchen. I went to the restaurant in person to place my to-go order. The restaurant was busy and had good COVID 19 precautions in place. The staff was friendly and the food was prepared in a timely manner. I ordered an appetizer, soup, and main course. All I can say is that they were just OK. Nothing special and the prices are a little high for the quality of food in my opinion. I had to review this because I'm all the way in Alaska and the Thai food here taste like rubberband. If you've given Thai Kitchen a bad review, you've probably never been overseas or you're just plain salty. This place is delicious! Everything here is so fresh and being in Alaska really mad me appreciate Thai Kitchen that much more. Especially since I can't always go overseas and get it from the source....Thai Kitchen is pretty close. Servers are always friendly and even if sometimes their English isn't the best, that's what pointing is for. Not everyone speaks English, but those are the best kind of restaurants. Duh!
